Ok, so I called my stepmother last night and asked to speak to my father. She said he went to the office to catch up on some work. I asked her if she'd be picking him up as it was already 8 at night and the buses don't run like they do during the weekdays (my dad had a stroke a few years ago and doesn't like driving anmore. he also has a lot of pride and doesn't like asking people for rides). she said yes she was picking him up and after a little chit chat we hung up with each other.
so i then called my dads work to check on him and he didn't answer. i figured he was away from his desk so i tried his cellphone. when i did a man who i didn't recognize by voice answered. i hung up figuring i dialed incorrectly and called again. again a man who's voice i didn't recognize answered.
i got very worried at this point and tried calling back my stepmother but she wouldn't answer. finally i called HER cellphone and she told me my father had been mugged while trying to walk home and she was on her way to get him at a nearby walgreens. luckily he wasn't hurt and they only got $7 from him and his cellphone. whats's really scary was i think they could have been thinking about a home invasion. they kept asking him where he lived and went so far as to look at the address on his license as they went through his wallet. the license however had an old address on it that he never updated.whats sad is my dad is the kind of person who would give you money if you just asked.
