As far as a character, Niles is pretty darn funny.

I can't seem to remember the 1st season. I like the one that Lilith comes on the show. Put it this way, I have enjoyed every episode so far. I finally have seen the episode of Cheers that he appears in for the first time. I said, Oh my God!! I stood up and cheered and clapped. Truthful with you, he looks better now. I sort of have a crush on Kelsey.

Dinner at eight.That's the one where Martin takes them to the steakhouse.

I haven't seen all of Season 1, but I like Travels With Martin

The Good Son was an excellent pilot episode which did a superb job setting everything up.

Can't Buy Me Love (no no no, no!) The auctioning off of Frasier and Bulldog. Frasier gets set up with a model, and Bulldog with...Daphne! Hilarious, especially drunk Daph.

A Midwinter Night's Dream, the first major Niles and Daphne episode, and a great one at that.

Give Him the Chair! (mainly because it was my first...)

Travels With Martin, Classic? "Sure!"

Author, Author, maybe my favorite Season 1 episode. From the funny song Frasier and Niles sing at the beginning, to when they engage in a classic fight ("YOU STOLE MY MOMMY!!!").

Frasier Crane's Day Off, High on drugs Frasier's facial expressions are hilarious. "You're on the Crane with Frasier air!"

My Coffee With Niles, this or Author, Author is my favorite Season 1 episode. 22 minutes of real time, as Frasier and Niles engage in conversation, with a simple (or is it...) question the center of the discussion; is Frasier happy?

Also, Niles finally owns up to his crush on Daphne in one hilarious scene.

More as well, but those for sure. Very strong first season, and to think it could and would get even better...

I actually like the very first episode. The bit where Martin calls the show and is pretending to be someone else with a problem with his son, while he has having problems with Frasier. LOL.
