This was a sitcom that aired in 2007 that was based off of the GEICO insurance company's cavemen from the commercials. It didn't get attention or praise and was canceled after 13 episodes.

What a weird premise to set a sitcom from huh, i mean the GEICO cavemen? i didn't even know this show existed until recently.

I watched and enjoyed every episode that aired...ABC aired only six of the 13 episodes produced before pulling it from the air.

I keep hoping that ABC will bring back the remaining episodes for a summer burn-off, but that doesn't look likely to happen. Perhaps down the road, another network that specializes in niche sitcoms will air the entire series.

Would it be too much to wish for a DVD?

Solomon there are plenty of failed shows that got/or get DVD releases, such as Day Break, the recent Bionic Woman and also Back to You will be on DVD this fall.

If by fan base, you mean numbers of viewers, Back to You and Cavemen were pretty similar.

Last season, Back to You averaged 4.4HH/7%, 2.38 A18-49, and 6,851,000 million viewers over 21 airings (7 encores).

In comparison, Cavemen averaged 4.4 HH/7%, 2.40 A18-49, and 6,456,000 million viewers over 6 airings (no encores).

If, on the other hand, you mean that BTY was given a full season to find its footing vs. Cavemen which got a month and a half, then BTY was at least able to develop a fan base, though not that much larger than Cavemen's.

I enjoyed BTY as well, and hope the DVD release contains the three unaired episodes. The post-strike episodes were funnier than the fall ones.

I also watched Caveman, it actually had some pretty funny moments. Granted it wasn't the greatest tv show but it was ok.

I've actually got this entire series (all 13 Eps from an Australian(?) channel that ran the whole season), and am holding on to it so I can make a DVD set if it doesn't get an official release.
