I'm sure we can all think of things about Brady Bunch that don't quite add up, not just mistakes that slipped through. That's what this thread is all about.

View Full Version : Does it make sense... sixfingers 08-01-2008, 12:20 AM I'm sure we can all think of things about Brady Bunch that don't quite add up, not just mistakes that slipped through. That's what this thread is all about. sixfingers 08-01-2008, 12:23 AM ... that the Bradys had six kids and an architect father in southern California but had no pool? sixfingers 08-01-2008, 12:29 AM ... that Cindy went to bed still wearing her braids? PrettyinPink55 08-01-2008, 12:35 AM That Marcia wore braces for only one episode!!! I had mine for 2 1/2 years!!! Schmoopie 08-01-2008, 01:39 AM That Marcia wore braces for only one episode!!! I had mine for 2 1/2 years!!! Me too! I didn't realize that her braces were only in one episode! sixfingers 08-05-2008, 10:45 PM ... that the kids remembered what position they were in when the original picture was taken yet didn't notice Jan's glasses? [The not-so-rose-colored glasses] Tweety 08-05-2008, 11:07 PM That neither Jan nor Peter ever made it to high school, even though Greg graduated. Did they get left back or something? I never got the impression on that show that Peter was 4 years (at least) younger than Greg...they played on the same Little League team. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ How was Greg put in charge of picking the head cheerleader? At our school (and I'm sure at every other school), cheerleading was a separate activity, with its own coach. I never knew if the captain of the cheerleaders was chosen directly by the coach, or if she was elected by a vote of the squad... but I was a jock myself, and I sure as heck never got to vote on that! (if I did get a vote, I, like Greg, would have been fair and impartial !). I figured that their coach probably picked the captain (or captains). (incidentally, a lot of you no doubt know this, but the girl who played "Pat Conway", who ultimately was chosen as the head cheerleader over Marcia and Jennifer Nichols, was played by Rita Wilson, who went on to marry a fellow by the name of Tom Hanks. They are still married today) ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ I also found it difficult to believe (even at the time the show aired) that more guys didn't go after Jan...especially during the last season. Jeez, wasn't there a single guy in that town that wanted to go out with her? Yeah, should could be a bit of a head case, but there had to be superficial guys around back then, too! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When Arthur Owens (Peter's look-a-like) started going to school there, no one mentioned to either he or Pete that "there's another guy in school who looks just like you". They didn't know about each other until they ran into each other in the hall. That was Arthur's second day in school, and apparently, no one inadvertently called him "Peter" before he bumped into Peter. PrettyinPink55 08-06-2008, 02:01 AM That perfect grass in their backyard!! Torgo 08-12-2008, 06:03 PM That 6 kids rarely have a problem sharing one bathroom. I know they keep Alice around because she is part of the family(they take her camping and to Hawaii), so what exactly does Carol do all day while Alice is cleaning? sixfingers 08-12-2008, 11:10 PM that Mike's company paid for the whole family *and their housekeeper* to go to Hawaii? Jude The Obscure 08-12-2008, 11:14 PM Les you forget, Mr. Phillips had a secret thing for Alice! Zoneboy 08-12-2008, 11:19 PM that Mike's company paid for the whole family *and their housekeeper* to go to Hawaii? Nothing odd about that, My guess is that if a script were submitted to Robert Reed that didn't include Alice on the trip he probably would've refused to do it. James 08-13-2008, 02:13 AM Nothing odd about that, My guess is that if a script were submitted to Robert Reed that didn't include Alice on the trip he probably would've refused to do it. How come? It would be within the boundaries of realism for Alice to stay home from trips. Did she go to see Cindy on "Question The Kids" or Greg pitch his Little League baseball game? Zoneboy 08-13-2008, 02:19 AM How come? It would be within the boundaries of realism for Alice to stay home from trips. Did she go to see Cindy on "Question The Kids" or Greg pitch his Little League baseball game? There's a big difference between a Hawaiian vacation and the 2 events you mentioned. SKay 08-13-2008, 07:07 PM Not sure if this fits the thread exactly, but in "My Brother's Keeper" Bobby apparently stayed in the bathtub all day. He started the bath right after the paint spill. When he was in the tub, his mom said that it was time to get out because dinner was almost ready. Then we see the family at the dinner table (Bobby comes late because he's in the tub), and Carol tells Peter that he's making too much of the paint incident this morning. I know that to some people dinner is the noon meal, but I'm thinking there was something else in there that implied it was the evening meal. I'll have to watch it again. Oh, wait. Maybe Carol told Bobby that Alice is fixing something special for dinner tonight. Jude The Obscure 08-22-2008, 11:40 PM I think the Bradys had lunch and dinner. They didn't seem like the supper crowd! |
