ryan423 07-31-2008, 03:51 PM This sounds like such a great channel. Wish I had it here in NYC:P
Pavan 07-31-2008, 03:53 PM You don't have WGN America? I didn't have it until about 2002 either, but it is now mostly everywhere really.
catlover79 07-31-2008, 04:00 PM
icecream 07-31-2008, 04:18 PM wow, that's a lot of changes. Bewitched and Jeannie airing seven days a week (and for two hours on weekends) is great news! :D Airing in the morning they probably won't get preempted for baseball either. And 7th Heaven is a pleasant surprise. It's back in the slots ABCFamily used to air it. If it stays where it is on Hallmark that's four times a day. good timeslot for Coach on Saturdays, surprised it's not on the weekday lineup. And cutting AFV down to once a day is good, although I don't like it booting Corner Gas out of primetime. Is the Bob and Tom show a talk show? I already don't like it for pushing Corner Gas back. It's odd that WGN has been advertising Becker a lot but it's still moving an hour later.
overall good changes
Jeannie, Bewitched, 7th Heaven and Coach are joining the lineup along with WKRP! :D
Pavan 07-31-2008, 04:23 PM I believe The Bob and Tom Show is a radio talk show or something, similar to The Wendy Williams Show. That's all I know about that.
Hallmark is not making any changes until October, when Cheers comes.
chris31989 07-31-2008, 06:02 PM What a great schedule. This is the best one I've seen in a while from a network. WGN America is off to a good start. Bewitched and Jeannie are great. I remember when TV38 in Boston (UPN at the time) aired both shows in the 9AM weekday hour, so that's a treat. I'm also glad Homicide is still on the schedule. It's also nice to see Matlock stay. I never really watch Coach, but it also fits well.
y2k3Joker 07-31-2008, 06:14 PM When is "in The Heat of the Night" on?
Did I miss it somewhere? I can't see it on the schedule:confused:
y2k3Joker 07-31-2008, 06:16 PM I see it now, starting Sept 15th, 11 am
ryan423 07-31-2008, 07:10 PM You don't have WGN America? I didn't have it until about 2002 either, but it is now mostly everywhere really.
I live in Rego Park in Queens, NYC. Pav, is there anyway you can check if I have it?
Scoobiedoo30 07-31-2008, 07:15 PM this schedule looks great
PrettyinPink55 07-31-2008, 10:13 PM I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited about Bewitched!!!! :woohoo: I haven't seen it in a long time!!!
But enough with the 7th Heaven already!!!!
Jude The Obscure 07-31-2008, 10:36 PM Congrats to all of you who have WGN America! :)
I shall now go cry in my little corner :(
oz615 07-31-2008, 10:40 PM Finally,i have a reason to watch WGN again!
Tubehead 08-01-2008, 12:41 AM I hope that they would show family ties.
PrettyinPink55 08-01-2008, 12:44 AM I hope that they would show family ties.
That would be great!!!
TKMetal 08-01-2008, 11:52 AM I'm kind of curious about this Bob and Tom Tv show. Will it be similar to the old Howard Stern show or will be like a stand-up comedy deal (they do a lot of comedy tours and the likes)? I guess we'll see.
janet42 08-01-2008, 01:03 PM Cool! Now if they would just show "Petticoat Junction", "Emergency", and "Eight Is Enough" I would be a very happy person.
MLBonTBS 08-01-2008, 01:12 PM Wow! Great changes at WGN! I'm especially glad to see Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie. Also, I had seen a shot of Matt from 7th Heaven in some of the current promos, so I had wondered about that...
JulieSomoski 08-01-2008, 07:17 PM Wow, tons of changes, and at just the right time! Very excited about Bewithced/IDOJ in the mornings. I'm shcoked Coach is only airing weekends - I was definitely hoping for it to air on weekdays. I'm a little upset Sister Sister is leaving the 5pm slot. It was much easier to watch then than at 1pm on ABC Family.
Besides that, nice changes! This network is looking up to be the old TV Land.
Scoobiedoo30 08-01-2008, 07:20 PM I was shocked to leard that Sister Sister is leaveing The 4:00 pm and 4:30 pm Time Period.
Pavan 08-01-2008, 11:45 PM Sister Sister and Coach are not really "hits" in syndication, so it is not "shocking."
KJH278 08-02-2008, 09:19 AM I live in Rego Park in Queens, NYC. Pav, is there anyway you can check if I have it?
If you have Verizon Fios TV (http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geu7SaXpRICV4A0bhXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE1cTl0NzNwBHNlYwNvdi10b3AEY29sbwNlBHZ0aWQDRjY2Nl8xMDEEcG9zAzE-/SIG=1fd3t9ppa/EXP=1217769498/**http%3a//rc10.overture.com/d/sr/%3fxargs=15KPjg14xSmpamwrercrrAROOKxV4axca58MhtCJFxH9Vf8WQ8De15barEn8N7TuVu%252DF%252DNwPOV9KATKvT5mv%252DMGwuIRlKIHev%252Dyt2awIo5Mq%252DnWdBBgvMa%255FrXkn4NIOHkGYW%252Dz2eqOga7BI9b5P2gav4IEzh2PjqktzM61xOAcFrPf3VZ%255F7Q2FLJgZk%255F9rxZTVeMgEQ7Ijf9Dt5lCSdulFydwE5vv1bS0SeBuSyG4N2FKDLTF31a%252D%255FatAEvrHvnJGZbOXjmd9IOhCeoq08qw7QnDzEg9U9ICvXhNXBoWgUPfKjIyyMzQbWm76TuM3NeIpuvib%252DHsGQRimoPi0tekMIauexDmaGKGAqs0TTQqwFfMm4q2GzAKfXACEGUmM%252E) in area who be able to get WGN America
storrs19 08-02-2008, 10:16 AM We've had WGN here since 1977 or so when we got cable. Of course back then it was a local channel for Chicago and all times were central. It has changed alot in the last 30 years but it is nice to see them adding some real classic television to their schedule. I own all five seasons of IDOJ on dbd and the first six of Bewitched but it is still cool that they have not forgotten classic tv. They have some good shows on Sunday night also with WKRP, Newhart and The Honeymooners.
JulieSomoski 08-02-2008, 06:41 PM Sister Sister and Coach are not really "hits" in syndication, so it is not "shocking."
Coach I can see, but the way you were hyping it up, and the way they're having a marathon for it and all, I thought we would have seen it on daily instead of weekly.
And Sister Sister has been seemingly doing well on both ABC Family and WGN, since they've both been airing the show a lot.
Chelsea 08-02-2008, 11:30 PM In the Heat of the Night? Really?? Once upon a time, I *loved* that show.
catlover79 08-02-2008, 11:33 PM In the Heat of the Night? Really?? Once upon a time, I *loved* that show.
So did I. It's so sad that Carroll and Hugh O'Connor are no longer with us, as well as Howard Rollins. :rip: I still love the awesome theme song, which was sung by Bill Champlin of Chicago.
I might have to take a look at it, too! Back in the mid-to-late 1990s, my grandma would devour reruns of "In the Heat of the Night," "Murder She Wrote," "Matlock," etc. I'm surprised Hallmark hasn't thought about getting "Heat."
Impressions 08-03-2008, 12:09 AM I'm looking forward to Newhart and WKRP. Is it true that they are airing this uncut? I hope so.
catlover79 08-03-2008, 12:15 AM I'm looking forward to Newhart and WKRP. Is it true that they are airing this uncut? I hope so.
Me, too. Those are both terrific shows.
megamanj2004 08-03-2008, 06:01 PM Looks like "In the Heat of the Night" is getting more popular nowadays.
Not only does it air on Me-TV twice during the week but now it's on WGN America, too!
And it's also great to see that show air alongside "Matlock" as well!
Scoobiedoo30 08-03-2008, 06:05 PM And here I throught WGN America lost The Right's to air In The Heat of The Night.
Pavan 08-03-2008, 06:13 PM Aaron, please read the blog story before posting on this thread. I clearly said In the Heat of the Night was re-acquired after expiring three years ago. I don't want people to get confused after something was already stated as a fact.
Scoobiedoo30 08-03-2008, 06:14 PM what does Re-acqired mean
Pavan 08-03-2008, 06:15 PM They got another contract.
Scoobiedoo30 08-03-2008, 06:20 PM thanks for letting me know what Re-acqired means and just so you know I read the Entired Blog and must have missed the part where it say's Re-acqired In The Heat of The Night
mgsports 08-07-2008, 07:57 PM In Chicago at 5:30pm and Noon to 1:30pm Newscast and every where else Nash Bridges and 7 Heaven.
Daily Buzz and so on won't be shown on here because of rights.
ThomasE 08-09-2008, 01:58 PM I live in Rego Park in Queens, NYC. Pav, is there anyway you can check if I have it?
I live in Corona ,Queens and know that I don't have it. I grew up with that channel while living in Florida and have been without it for a year. :( As a kid, I would visit my family here and would be disappointed that WGN 9 was not apart of the lineup. I kinda miss it.

http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2008/08/wgn-america-edits-sunday-schedule.html
Scoobiedoo30 08-20-2008, 03:00 PM Nice Story on the blog
JulieSomoski 08-20-2008, 03:07 PM Weekends are looking to be the best days for WGN. This new schedule is much better than the original one - Adding Bewitched and IDOJ to 11pm and midnight is a great idea - much better to watch the show at night than in the mornings.
Scoobiedoo30 08-20-2008, 03:30 PM WGN America will be the best station this Fall.
DSfan 08-20-2008, 05:43 PM I really like the Sunday night lineup (minus the newscast).
Retro shows from 6-10 with Cosby, WKRP, Newhart, and Honeymooners.
How tempting is it to watch Cosby Show when great shows come on after? I find it makes the show seem more watchable, but that's just me.
Then even more retro shows from 11-1am. Hopefully, N@N will have something good from 10-11 like Family Matters which will thus create the greatest retro night on TV!
stevea 08-21-2008, 10:34 AM I believe The Bob and Tom Show is a radio talk show or something, similar to The Wendy Williams Show. That's all I know about that.
Hallmark is not making any changes until October, when Cheers comes.
We have a Bob and Tom radio show which originates here in Indy, and is syndicated to radio stations all over the place. I can't imagine it would go on tv. It must be a different show...

DSfan 08-29-2008, 04:23 PM Their Sundays continue to get better. Retro sitcoms from 5-10 and then 11-1 am. Coach, Cosby Show, WKRP, Newhart, Honeymooners, Bewitched, and I Dream of Jeannie practically back-to-back (newscast).

Yeah, Sunday nights were definitely the night to beat for WGN. Great sitcoms in a great classic block - hopefully it'll stick around for awhile.
megamanj2004 08-30-2008, 01:36 PM I used to have WGN America until out of nowhere my cable serivce provider in AT&T took it off my channel line-up!
I can't even watch those shows anymore!
GRRRRRR!!
I wonder if Tribune would ever make WGN America available as a digital channel for broadcast TV subchannels since they own some stations. Thaat would be nice.
An 80s Guy 08-31-2008, 02:39 PM I'm excited about Newhart,Jeannie, and Bewitched.I've caught "In The Heat Of The Night" before and it wasn't bad.I wish TV Land had these shows not the only thing I watch on there is "The Jefferson's".
mgsports 08-31-2008, 09:43 PM What Stations are their? You want them available on all Digital Cable Systems?
floyd2006 09-01-2008, 01:07 AM Some good changes there. I hope they replace Nash Brigdes with something else. WGN is becoming my favorite network.
icecream 09-09-2008, 12:40 AM two questions
1. Why isn't Bewitched going in order?
2. On the first post of this thread it says the late night changes happen on October 6. But on the press release it says Bob and Tom premieres on November 3. Which one is it?
Pavan 09-09-2008, 12:42 AM I believe Bewitched started with the color episodes, and is going from there in order? The Sunday night airings will be a later season rotation, if I recall.
Yes, it seems Bob and Tom will start 11/3...need to get confirmation still if the current 12 midnight shows will continue until then.
Pavan 09-10-2008, 11:07 AM Coach on Saturdays 7-8PM is not happening since it will air Sundays 5-6PM. Becker will now air Saturdays 7-8PM starting Oct. 4.
Scoobiedoo30 09-10-2008, 11:30 AM well I just fround out that WGN America is airing Becker weekday's at 3:00 pm Central Time
Pavan 09-10-2008, 11:33 AM That was posted on Aug. 29 already.
Scoobiedoo30 09-10-2008, 11:40 AM it good to see Becker at 3:00 pm Central Time.
JulieSomoski 09-10-2008, 06:53 PM Coach on Saturdays 7-8PM is not happening since it will air Sundays 5-6PM. Becker will now air Saturdays 7-8PM starting Oct. 4.
That's too bad - I was looking forward to watching it on both Saturday and Sunday. But, Becker isn't a bad show - at least it's getting better timeslots this month than what it was getting.
Pavan 09-16-2008, 12:47 PM WGN America has scheduled a marathon of WKRP this Sunday (Sept. 21). After its regular Sunday 7-8pm ET airings, you'll see special two-part episodes from 8-10pm ET (preempting Newhart and Honeymooners this week only).
Here are the episodes following its regular 7-8pm ET airings:
8-9pm ET WKRP in Cincinnati #3YAD22 “Dr. Fever and Mr. Tide (Pt.1 & 2)"
9:00pm ET WKRP in Cincinnati #4YAD04 “An Explosive Affair (Part 1)”
9:30pm ET WKRP in Cincinnati #4YAD06 “An Explosive Affair (Part 2)"
Scoobiedoo30 09-16-2008, 01:05 PM I know I cant wait for this special Marathron on WGN America.

Boston Legal? Where did that come from?
Pavan 09-22-2008, 07:45 PM Weekly syndicated airings that air on locals. WGN did the same thing with 24.
JulieSomoski 09-22-2008, 07:51 PM Weekly syndicated airings that air on locals. WGN did the same thing with 24.
Wonder why they picked it up, though. I don't mind, though - Boston Legal is an okay show. It'll just add more variety to thier weekend lineup!
Jude The Obscure 09-22-2008, 10:12 PM Is anyone watching Bewitched on WGNAmerica and if so, how do they look? Are they as badly edited as the Hallmark version? Did they skip the first two seasons?

catlover79 09-23-2008, 01:44 PM What an awesome lineup!
icecream 09-23-2008, 01:56 PM Their Sunday schedule was really good before, now it's awesome! From 5-9PM I'll be watching WGN straight through most weeks. four great shows back to back for an hour each! Then Bewitched and Jeannie hours starting at 11 :D
Pavan 09-23-2008, 02:04 PM OK here is the blog story, I suggest you read it to view the full grasp of changes:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2008/09/wgn-edits-schedule-and-adds-alf-legal.html
Scoobiedoo30 09-23-2008, 03:00 PM This is great Classic TV is making a come Back and on WGN America.
DSfan 09-23-2008, 04:50 PM That Sunday night from 5PM until 2AM is unbelievable. This channel really is changing!
Inundated 09-23-2008, 09:11 PM OK, is there any word about the status of the final season (6) of "Corner Gas" on WGN America?
The 1:30 time slot starting 11/3 doesn't look great, and there are rumors floating around the Internet that either WGN doesn't have the rights to season 6, or CTV won't sell it to them, or both.
Pavan 09-24-2008, 12:23 AM I'm not sure, I'll see what I can find out from them.
Impressions 09-24-2008, 01:48 PM Will they be airing the syndicated prints of ALF?
BTW; why isn't this thread a sticky?
Pavan 09-24-2008, 02:58 PM Expect same prints as the marathon they aired during 80s week.
DSfan 09-24-2008, 05:11 PM I can see WGN, in the future, adding shows like Facts of Life, Perfect Strangers, Taxi, and many shows in that category.
I really wish I wouldn't have that stupid WGN CW 9 channel in Canada which took over the real WGN a few years ago. It is such a waste for me as WPIX is the exact same thing pretty much.
JulieSomoski 09-24-2008, 05:37 PM I can see WGN, in the future, adding shows like Facts of Life, Perfect Strangers, Taxi, and many shows in that category.

That would make for a fantastic lineup, even more than the weekend one they have now!
It would be even better if they could get some of that lineup onto weekdays. Wouldn't you just love to see that lineup on every weeknight too?
DSfan 09-24-2008, 06:05 PM I would, I can't wait till I go to the States next summer just to be a hermit on Sunday nights (and Monday... :))

Scoobiedoo30 10-08-2008, 02:30 PM I am looking forward to 80's week on WGN America it will be great to watch Show's like Three's A Crowd The Ropers Check it Out and To Close For Comfort and I would like to say Awsome Job with The Inviewer with WGN America,
That's actually stuff to look forward to! Thanks for the heads up.
I'll be looking for some type of Lost 70s week lol. And I'm still waiting for some type of classic crime drama week. Not sure if they have the rights to anything, but I'd love it if they did...
friendsfan77 10-08-2008, 02:45 PM OMG, Too Close for Comfort!!!! I have been dying to see that!
TKMetal 10-08-2008, 03:47 PM Good interview. Obviously WGN America is in a experimental phase but have no plans to become a TV Land as it was. Sean sounded real enthusiastic about the retro block though and it seems to be working out, which is good.
Jude The Obscure 10-08-2008, 03:51 PM The key wording was "as long as the ratings hold up". When retro programming starts slipping, they will replace it and then WGN America will look like every other carbon copy entertainment channel on cable.
So enjoy this while it lasts, folks!
Robert 13 10-08-2008, 04:02 PM I'm excited about "Too Close For Comfort" because 2 of those episodes are not on dvd. So get your recorders ready if you're a fan of the show. I would love to see them add other shows in special weeks like this. For example, "Checking In" with Marla Gibbs (the whole series could air in 2 hours) and "One in a Million" with Shirley Hemphill (pick 4 episodes). That would be great! :)
Pavan 10-08-2008, 04:16 PM Sean is a big fan of classic TV and it was all his doing. He came to WGN America in April and made his mark in June with the classic TV.
DSfan 10-08-2008, 05:03 PM It is really incredible how he made a mark so quickly after arriving to work there. He is pretty young as well!
I've been wondering, how is it possible to acquire a shows' rights for only one night? Is it cheaper like that? Pav, do you know the details of that?
Thanks! It went great! Good to see some good personal responses, and quick (unlike ION). Very informative interview!
Have they acquired The Munsters through Program Exchange?

Ah, yes. God forbid them actually try to keep their network afloat by taking off programming that is not getting ratings and not making money for them.

Some shows, like these DLT shows are for one day only. It is cheaper that way. If they do well, like Too Close for Comfort, I can bet we could see them join like ALF did.
Pavan 10-08-2008, 07:52 PM Thanks! It went great! Good to see some good personal responses, and quick (unlike ION). Very informative interview!

Thanks! They are very dedicated to putting on the classics. Sean is a great guy and it is a good thing WGN hired him to program this network.
Yes, they acquired Munsters from Program Exchange, but as of now, it is only slated for Halloween.
Scoobiedoo30 10-08-2008, 07:55 PM I hope that WGN does air The Munsters on the regural schedule
DSfan 10-08-2008, 11:31 PM Some shows, like these DLT shows are for one day only. It is cheaper that way. If they do well, like Too Close for Comfort, I can bet we could see them join like ALF did.
Thanks, but what is a DLT show exactly?
Pavan 10-09-2008, 12:45 AM DLT Entertainment. It is an independent company that owns shows like Three's Company, its spinoffs, Too Close for Comfort, Check It Out, Benny Hill, etc.
Scoobiedoo30 10-09-2008, 12:50 AM Is DLT still in Business
Jude The Obscure 10-09-2008, 10:38 AM Ah, yes. God forbid them actually try to keep their network afloat by taking off programming that is not getting ratings and not making money for them.
Gee......sarcasm.......so refreshing to see here on Sitcoms Online
Without the sarcasm:
What are they supposed to do if the ratings aren't good? They can't survive if their shows don't make good ratings. If they can only air certain shows only for a week every now and then, I'd rather that than not have any network at all (the result of airing nothing but shows that don't get good ratings).
But to be completely honest, we don't know what the ratings will do for them. As the guy said in the interview, their Sundays have doubled, so we shall see. Hopefully it's only the beginning.
friendsfan77 10-09-2008, 11:01 AM Without the sarcasm:

I agree. I'd love to see things such as Newhart and WKRP airing more than twice a week as much as the next person, and for them to pick up Too Close for Comfort on a regular basis. But if these slots are doing well for them, I'll take what I can get. At least they're trying unlike some other networks who get chicken and pull a show after 3 weeks to a month.
The ratings so far seem to be good. And with the expansion of the classics on Sundays and these two new stunts coming up, I'd say the signs are that classics and variety will stay on WGN in some form for a while.
Jude The Obscure 10-09-2008, 11:02 AM JT, I knew what you meant.....
My comment was simply for people not get overly excited that WGN America will be a "retro" network......too many times we get news of something retro happening, it lasts a brief time, and then we get all upset when the network changes programming (i.e. ION).
it's all good, ok, buddy?
And I don't even have WGN America, so count your blessings :)
Pavan 10-09-2008, 11:13 AM I have trust in Sean Compton. He is a fan of classic TV. He clearly said though the network will not be 100% retro (even though I'm sure he'd like it to be). Even if it is just one night or even just overnights, he will keep classic TV in some way. You have to admit WGN America has the most variety on cable today. You go from Corner Gas to Honeymooners.
Jude The Obscure 10-09-2008, 11:39 AM I admire WGN America for going this direction and I hope it stays that way for all of you who get the channel.
I just know a lot of us are tired of getting burned by channels that start off in one direction and then decide to switch. Yes, I know that TV is a business first and foremost, the object is to make money. But there has got to be room for niches, such as classic TV, to have a home. Not every channel should be a carbon copy of the next one on the dial.
And now I will shut up........for which all of you are now thanking God.
Pavan 10-09-2008, 05:52 PM Where is Julie? She hasn't made any comments on this yet.
JulieSomoski 10-09-2008, 08:17 PM Where is Julie? She hasn't made any comments on this yet.
Thanks for thinking of me, Pavan-LOL. I've been really busy lately, but I can make a quick post now.
I really enjoyed this interview - much better than ION. They were very specific in their answers, and made it clear that as well as the classic shows did well, more would be added to the lineup as time went on, which I am fine with. He did say that Sunday's ratings doubled in many timeperiods by the addition of the Sunday Nightr Retro Block. That's a very positive sign that we'll be seeing even more by the end of the year.
And I completely agree that for us sitcom fans, WGN America is the best network out there right now. There's tons of variety - weekends alone win it for me. You have shows like Boston Legal, Bewitched, Newhart, and Corner Gas all in one day - how great is that?
I'd as well like to see some of these shows expand into weekdays, but the way they have it now, I'm fine with that as well. This network has already beaten Nick at Nite and TV Land combined.
Pavan 10-27-2008, 02:45 PM Don't forget tonight is the start of Lost '80s Week on WGN America! Three's a Crowd tonight! http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2008/10/tv-land-and-nbc-november-changes-win.html

icecream 11-06-2008, 12:57 AM During the Munster mash they said the Munster home was remodeled and is now used on Desperate Housewives. Which house is it on DH?
Pavan 11-06-2008, 01:27 AM The Munster house on Desperate Housewives is currently Bob and Lee's house, I think. Previously before they moved in it was Betty Applewhite and then Alma Hodge.
icecream 11-06-2008, 12:15 PM thanks Pavan

Scoobiedoo30 11-06-2008, 03:00 PM No more Alf on Monday Night's from 8:00 pm until 9:00 pm CT Time
DSfan 11-06-2008, 06:25 PM Nice to hear about WGN's constantly increasing amount of classic TV!
I like when a marathon doesn't have repeats like most other channels do.
icecream 11-07-2008, 12:24 PM What's replacing ALF on Monday nights?
Pavan 11-07-2008, 01:12 PM AFV is back on Mondays starting 11/24.
icecream 11-19-2008, 12:48 AM Is WGN's Wednesday night newscast permanently being shortened to a half hour? The next two Wednesdays sitcoms are airing at 10:30 eastern.
Scoobiedoo30 11-19-2008, 12:58 AM The reason why WGN America is airing WGN News a Half Hour on Wednesday, November 18, 2008 from 9:00 pm until 9:30 pm and Corner Gas at 9:30 pm is Because WGN-CW9 is airing NBA Basketball from 9:30 pm until 12:00 am on WGN America.
icecream 12-02-2008, 03:31 PM When will the Christmas and New Year's marathons be announced? They're coming up fast.
Scoobiedoo30 12-02-2008, 03:35 PM I know I am looking forward to what ever Marathron's WGN will be airing
Adamantium 12-02-2008, 04:08 PM I noticed that "NewsRadio" aired Friday night at 10:30 on WGN! They aired the pilot episode. And according to imdb, they aired the 4th episode (which was the second episode produced, they must be airing them in production order) on Saturday at 3:00pm. This Friday will be the actual 2nd episode at 10:30. So "NewsRadio" came to WGN afterall.
Scoobiedoo30 12-02-2008, 04:15 PM WGN America sounds like they are useing Newsradio as Fill-in Programming
Pavan 12-02-2008, 04:16 PM Christmas will be this week, but they have reduced the marathons unfortunately. I'll let you all know this week what is going to happen and what was going to happen. New Year's Eve is still on full force!
As for NewsRadio, yes it is being used as a filler only.
Scoobiedoo30 12-02-2008, 04:30 PM so I was right by saying WGN America is useing Newsradio as Fill-in Programming.
Pavan 12-04-2008, 02:46 PM WGN America's Holiday programming:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2008/12/wgn-americas-2008-holiday-programming.html
Scoobiedoo30 12-04-2008, 03:05 PM I am looking forward to WGN's Christmas Programming Line up.
Pavan 12-04-2008, 03:06 PM And what are you looking forward to? Sometimes you don't read what is posted, so not sure if you are just posting just to post.
Scoobiedoo30 12-04-2008, 03:15 PM I read the post my friend
icecream 12-04-2008, 05:18 PM Their Christmas lineup is disappointing. With all the good marathons they've done I was expecting a lot better.
Pavan 12-04-2008, 05:22 PM It is too bad they removed the holiday sitcom blocks.
Pavan 12-10-2008, 03:52 PM WGN's New Year's marathon is...
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2008/12/honeymooners-new-years-bash-nationally.html
MikeLutton 12-10-2008, 04:33 PM i already knew haha i called them n they told me what it was also wrote them glad it honeymooners marathon be somethingto watch
DSfan 12-11-2008, 12:38 AM I like what WGN is airing but they know about WPIX's tradition and completely stole it. They've been so original lately they shouldn't have taken WPIX's thunder. I predicted this would happen by the way in some older post/thread.
icecream 12-11-2008, 01:28 AM I like what WGN is airing but they know about WPIX's tradition and completely stole it. They've been so original lately they shouldn't have taken WPIX's thunder. I predicted this would happen by the way in some older post/thread.Yes, but WPIX only airs in one city. What about all the Honeymooners fans who don't get New York channels? It would be different if it was another national network that had that tradition.
MikeLutton 12-11-2008, 02:10 AM wpix aires it once a year wgn aires it all the time i rather see it on wgn anytime
DSfan 12-11-2008, 07:40 PM Yes, but WPIX only airs in one city. What about all the Honeymooners fans who don't get New York channels? It would be different if it was another national network that had that tradition.
I completely agree with you. I'm happy that many people can watch. All I was saying was that WGN stole WPIX's thing as I'm pretty sure they know the success WPIX has with that every year and want good ratings but you're right that WGN isn't stealing their thunder because it is only a local channel.
Pavan 12-11-2008, 07:46 PM WPIX and WGN are both owned by Tribune. So they are together on this.
DSfan 12-12-2008, 12:01 AM That's surprising to me lol
Pavan 12-19-2008, 03:09 PM Just a note, some changes are coming in January. We will announce Monday. Teaser at the end of today's blog: http://www.sitcomsonline.com/blog/2008/12/tv-land-brings-back-all-in-family-other.html
Scoobiedoo30 12-19-2008, 03:20 PM are we allowed to take a gueses on this
Pavan 12-19-2008, 03:21 PM How on earth would you guess? I didn't say if anything new was coming or asked people to guess. All I said was to expect changes...there is a new show coming, though, but that is all I'm saying.
Scoobiedoo30 12-19-2008, 03:25 PM is it a Cassic Show
DSfan 12-19-2008, 03:28 PM I would guess that they are going to add either Gilligan's Island, Brady Bunch, or Taxi to their lineup. I hate the suspense lol!
PattiB 01-09-2009, 02:54 AM I love the show In The Heat Of The Night!
I hope they rerun the series when they reach the end. I watch this every morning!:D
Scoobiedoo30 01-09-2009, 03:00 AM I know I was glad when In The Heat of The Night Returned to The WGN Schedule.
