It usually made him end up in danger. He trusted a man he met in the airport, he went home with him and ate dinner, then the man slipped a mickey in his drink, and he passed out and ended up on a island. Then he trusted a biker to give him a ride, he ended up in the middle of a biker gang, he should have went on about his business, he was better off being alone. Everytime he got friendly with someone, trouble got friendly with David.

I think what you are describing is the charm of Bill Bixby/David Banner. Funny thing is, judging by his demeanor I find none of the above unusual.. he's just that kind of guy. :)

Exactly. In fact, Bill Bixby made a career out of playing that kind of character. Whether he was reporter Tim O'Hara who took in an extra-terrestrial (on My Favorite Martian) or magician Anthony Blake (on
The Magician) or David Banner, he was always helping people when
he didn't really have to. Sometimes they didn't even deserve his friendship.
I don't know what Bill Bixby was like off-screen, but onscreen at least, he
seemed like the kind of fellow you would like to call a friend. And, judging
by his last interview (on Entertainment Tonight, I believe) he was a
lot like that in real life.

That's true, and he usually went by his instincts, but there comes a time when you have to say no to someone. But, he was on the road alone so he had to trust someone, but there is no way in hell I would go home with a guy for dinner whom I just met at the airport. LOL

David was way too trusty and pretty naive but,I always see it as a message for younger viewers:"don't fallow strangers,it's extremely dangerous,I can metamorphose into the hulk and get out of trouble but,you can't".By the way,it would have been a boring episode if he didn't fallowed that crazy man on the island.
