When a Show you own get Completed on DVD do you watch it from Season 1 in oder or do you Skop around?

For Example I Own all 10 Seasons of Friends on DVD and every once in awhile I give a break and then when i start watching it again I Start with Season 1 and 10 In a Circle as it would be would on TBS or TV Land.

I only skip around AFTER completely watching a series from beginning to end at least once. Like right now I'm re-watching All In the Family (I think this is as complete as this show is going to get) but skipping the epsiodes I didn't like.. gonna skip a lot on S5 and 6.....

Then again a show like Friends has complete story threads so skipping around is not possible if you intend on getting the most out of it... as is a show like Alias.

I usually always skip around - I just don't have the time to sit and watch every episode of a series I own on DVD. There a few shows, though, that you have to watch in order so you know what's going on. For example, Soap - there is no way you could just choose an episode out of that show.

I have King of Queens in boxset and I am currently watching it in order.

I tend to watch them in order the first couple of times. Some shows, like Newsradio for instance, I've seen often enough that I'll just watch random episodes. But most of the time, in order.

I only skip around with the actual seasons (ie I'll watch season 2, 5, 1). Within a season, I'll always watch them in episode order. I always like to give each episode space and time to breathe.

I always jump around. I have so many TV shows on DVD now.Some of them I still have not completed.Never did get around to buying the last 2 seasons of The orginal Twilight Zone.
The episodes I rewatch the most are my favorite ones.Last track of how many times I have watched Guess Who's Coming to Christmas since I got Happy Days season 2 last year.

I have the complete set of 21 jumpstreet and when I first got it I watched from the beginning but now skip around cause my fave eppys are with Richard Grieco and mostly watch those.

I'm trying it again... watching the shows beginning to end and I agree with you that it might cause major Seinfeld burn-out, but I'm willing to risk it. I noticed that if I watch a bunch of episodes one right after the other that I don't find them funny. That's when you know that the burn out is about to begin! However, if I try to stay away from it for a while, this little voice seems to be calling me to continue to watch! I'm nuts, what can I say!?
Actually the reason I'm doing this is because there is a particular scene I am looking for and I cannot figure out which episode it's in for the life of me. What better way to find out than to watch them all!?

I won't skip seasons to watch the show.


it is best to watch from the beginning to the end.


Soap is a great example of that.


With Soap, I think I am on season four now.

Yeah The Christmas marithon gets bigger every year for me when more TV shows get released on DVD. Just bought Charles in Charge season 3 a couple weeks ago and now I can add the Christmas episode from that season on my Christmas TV night. Love watching Christmas shows and movies. There so fun and nice.

In order first then I skip around to what I want to see...(for example, sometimes when I watch Cheers I want to see the Diane years, other times I want to see episodes Rebecca was in.)

I just skip around...There's no way you can go in order and either not get tired of that show, not want to watch something else or just not watch it. I would watch episodes of TFP I have on my computer for awhile then I would get sick of watching it lol. Even your favorite shows, you need a break for a minute.

Yeah I just bought both season 2 and 3 of Charles in Charge. I been going back and fourth between eatch set. I'll watch 2 episodes from season 2 and then I will watch 2 episodes from season 3.Thats what I been pretty mutch doing since I bought them a couple weeks ago. Have not gone threw them both yet.But I have scene all the episodes before anyways. Tonight I plan on watching The episode with Mindy Cohn.

I like that photo of Kevin and Wennie. If only The Wonder Years would come out out on DVD? Sad I know it costs to mutch money because of the music.What ever. I do have The Christmas Wonder Years set on DVD,but man the picture quality sucks. I also have an old VHS copy of the first 2 episodes but also the picture on that tape is very poor. And I have a few episodes recorded off of TNN from a few years ago. The picture on those tapes are good,but there syndicated episodes-missing scenes.

Ususally i watch the series in order but sometimes if there is a certain episode or storyline i wish to watch i'll watch out of order.

Sitcoms i don't usually feel the need to watch in order, but dramas i always watch in order so i remember everything that happened.

The Wonder Years is probably my top DVD priority, which it has been for a long time. I'd love to get this show on DVD, unedited with all original music intact, but that's nearly impossible for any stuido to handle on their own. What's worse is that it seems like no studio is working on it at the moment - no one cares to get it out on DVD, which is a shame. Even if they had to sell it for an extremely high price, I'd pay whatever I had to to own it.

I'd love to own one of those Best-of sets that were released 10 years ago. But, DVD's were a thing of the future in 1998. I can't believe those 2 sets were even released to the public back then-LOL. No wonder they're in such obscurity nowadays.

I almost always start from season 1, disc 1 because I'm usually starting from scratch, but I do note which episodes are good enough to go back to to re-watch or show friends.

I'd easily spend $500 on a complete series box set of TWY. It's such a classic show, that's one the top of a lot of people's list. It would sell like crazy - it's the most wanted show on DVD over at TSOD, by a lot. That should say something. That's why it makes me wonder why no studio is tackling this show.

Fox had it on their schedule, but from what I heard they don't want to release it now due to the fan backlash over WKRP S1 which is now also off their schedule. I don't think any studio wants to touch it. I would love to see it on DVD but some of the songs that are used on it go for $400,000 +. Studios can either keep the music & charge $150 + a season or replace some/most music & have fans boycott the release. It's a lose lose situation.

It's definitely a huge property, but that shouldn't stop some company from dealing with it. Sure, some songs will have to be replaced no matter what - I can take that, but some people are just too paranoid that even if 1 song gets replaced, they won't buy it, and I don't get that.

Probably the only company that would be able to release it would be Shout! Factory and they already said that music costs would be too high. They said they're glad WKRP isn't theirs so I doubt they would want to attempt to release Wonder Years. It really is a shame because it was such a great show. I really don't think most of the music would make it onto a DVD release though and I'm not holding my breath for a release any time soon.

It would be cool to watch shows in sequence order but it never works out for me like that. I end up watching my favorite episodes first, then others that I'm curious to see, then eventually I get around to the rest of them.

Yeah sticking syndicated episodes on DVD is dumb. syndicated episodes are episodes shorten for more commercials. But on a Home Video format there are no commercials so the episodes should be released uncut?

American Dad is the only show that I buy a volume of every year and I'd say so far I have the "complete series" as far as the DVDs are concerned. I used to start at Volume 1, but lately I just start at whatever episode I'm in the mood to watch.

Sounds like the greedy ol' RIAA, ASCAP and BMI to me! They really need to lower their standards and get with the program. Licenses for DVD sets and music downloading are going to be around for quite a long time.

I prefer to watch an entire series in order as it makes much more sense to see the progression. I'm re-watching MASH right now and I am on season three.
