if you haven't seen this, DO!! It's SO MUCH better than the version that came out in theaters in 1980!! I've got the DVD, and I've watched it 4 times so far, and now I'm seriosly considering buying it, and I don't have much storage space. So that tells you how GREAT this is!!
I've seen the version that was in theaters in 1980 (and which is also on DVD) but this one is so much better! It's like they say on the commentary "One of the great sins in moviemaking is that Donner never got to finish it". (he filmed most of it, and was going to come back later and finish it, but then he was fired. The director who replaced him decided not to use most of his footage).

And, it clears up a major hole in the plot-why Superman got his powers back after he was told he couldn't.

I can't believe they left out so much stuff!!!

This movie, the RESTORED version of the first one (which is also great) and "BATMAN BEGINS" are now my all-time favorite superhero movies!
