And Did They Like it or Not?

Through the DVDs, I introduced the show "Monk" to my older sister. I first showed her the season 1 finale, where Monk is on an airplane and the special guest is Tim Daly... as himself! She agreed to watch another episode. I then showed her "Mr. Monk and the Sleeping Suspect." After that, she asked to borrow my DVDs and has been a "Monk" fan ever since.

Through the DVDs, I introduced "NewsRadio" to two of my friends. One is a guy my age, who had never heard of the show but was willing to try it out. He loved it. And then a co-worker, who's in his fifties borrowed the DVDs and he loves it. His 80-something-year old mom also watched some episodes and like it. Now at work, we're able to talk about our favorite moments and lines from the show. Hardly anyone else at work knows what show we're talking about, though.

I introduced my husband to Seinfeld and Full House and he introduced me to Monk, Charmed and the Sopranos! I think he likes Seinfeld and Full House, but he's not a big fan of them like I am!

I introduced Roseanne to several people at Oregon State University.

Many people had already seen Roseanne from Nick at Nite and loved it, but a lot of people had only seen a few episodes.

Everyone who I introduced it to loved it!

Seasons 2 through 6 of Roseanne are the best thing to ever hit television! While seasons 1, 7 and 8 are all above average. Long live Roseanne!

Back in college, I got one of my roommates hooked on Wings. Other than that, I haven't gotten too many people to love certain TV shows. if they're interested, cool; if they're not, that's also cool.

OTOH (I'm not sure if this should be its own thread.) I've had people try to get me to watch certain shows even though I tell them I'm not interested in them. I have a cousin about my age (who really has no social skills to speak of) who loves crime shows, especially the CSI's, L&O:CI, Psycho, and Monk. I have told him repeatedly how I feel about murder mysteries, true crime stories, and stuff like that but he just doesn't back off and keeps trying to get me to watch with him. He also mocks my taste in music, among other things.

I also have a co-worker who tried introducing me the The Sopranos and 24. I told her how I feel about violent TV shows and she left it alone after that.

A few years ago, I introduced several of my co-workers to Barney Miller - when the first two seasons came out on DVD. These co-workers were all my age or younger and they all LOVED it. :D

I asked for Volume 1 of Family Guy for Christmas one year and I showed a few episodes to my Aunt and now she watches it on TBS sometimes.

I introduced The OC to my Mom and she loved it. I can't really think of others at this time though.

And I introduced YOU to Frasier, and we all know how well that turned out! ;) I did it w/ Leigh Ann, too. And as for shows Curt has gotten you into, how come you didn't include WoWP? Haha!

Well, probably because I posted that reply in 2008! I should also add that he's gotten me hooked on Mad Men, Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Man Vs Food and pretty much every show on the Disney Channel!

And YOU dear Kristen have also managed to get me hooked on Hot In Cleveland and Cheers doesn't seem to be too far away. Considering how much I used to hate that show (Cheers), that is an amazing feat! Hmm... I could just blame "Frasier" for that one, though!
