OH Nuts! 07-26-2008, 11:38 AM This is truly one of my all time favorite eps of the Series. If someone said "Quick grab your favorite 20 Ozzie eps" this one would be in my hands in a nannosecond. IMO, it was one of those few times when the show went for funny and suceeded BIG TIME. It had a very Lucy-esque quality to it and I mean that in a GOOD way. So many funny lines and scenes and the ostrich bit was a hoot. Also loved that cute old lady at one of the doors. NOW THIS, is one of those eps I can watch over and over - and have - I know I've seen it well over a dozen times. One of the classics of the series. Your thoughts folks???
honeybea 07-26-2008, 12:06 PM I haven't watched it in a long time. I will have to get it out and watch tonight. Wally is always good for a few laughs, especially when ginger is involved.

Actually, Honeybea, Ginger isn't in this one. It's more of a Wally & the Nelsons ep. But this ep really is a blast, so by all means, give it a whirl. My fav Wally & Ginger is Kris Plays Cupid where she runs after him with a frying pan screaming I"LL SWEETIE PIE YOU"
Jude The Obscure 07-27-2008, 04:08 PM This one is still on my backburner list to re-watch, Rich. I promise ya, one day, I'll get around to it again.

It's really a fun one Jude - so try to watch it as soon as you can!
Jude The Obscure 07-27-2008, 06:09 PM I'm putting it on right now in my bedroom player!
OH Nuts! 07-27-2008, 10:59 PM You'll enjoy it - its a funny ep & very well done!
Jude The Obscure 07-28-2008, 12:00 PM Well, I did see it before, Rich :) But I noticed some things this go round--was this a last season episode? In color?. The office is totally different--so is Dave, still a partner of Dobson/Kelly or is out on his own? Miss Edwards--wow--she is really looking good here. Rick has a much more mature look in hair and style of dress. Harriet, here, you can really starting to see her age--maybe the hairstyle helps the look.
And Ozzie in a strip joint! shocking!!

If its in color its a last season ep. Yes Miss Edwards is quite the doll here - but then, she always is. Love all the little gags - which work quite nicely IMHO - all those jokes about ostriches, the neighbors interviewed - esp. the sweet old lady, Wally's ridiculous claim - which turns out to be TRUE:crazy: - and of course Miss Fickle Feather and her fine feathered friend Fifi. And yes, Harriet does look more mature than usual. Not sure abt Dave though. Truly a FUN ep!!!
ILUVO&H 07-29-2008, 11:20 AM By the last season Dave was a partner in the law firm. You'll see the name plate on the main door to the office and if you listen carefully, you'll notice Miss Edwards answers the phone " Dobson, Kelly and Nelson"
Dave explains a few times the where abouts of Dobson and Kelly as being, Mr. Dobson has taken a lighter work load, and Mr. Kelly is always out of town on business.
The only episode I have seen Mr. Dobson in is the one where Dave get the job as law clerk, which Mr. Kelly is not in. Very shortly after Dave starts, we have the episode Dave Goofs Off, where he finally meets Mr. Kelly and is afraid he's making a terrible impression on him.
The actor playing Mr. Dobson had been in some earlier episodes as different characters.
rather off topic, but I have noticed in watching the Mill Creek episodes that the first few appearances of the Malt Shop, Jack wasn't working there.
Jack's a favorite character of mine. I don't know why though. Maybe I just envied being around all that ice cream. lol

OMG, I should have noticed this. I must go back to my last season eps and see (hear) this! I've only seen Mr. Dobson in a few eps like David's Car Payment and The Circus, but then I only have 174 eps so I'm sure there's quite a few he's in I don't have.

Of course! I totally forgot those episodes with Mr. Dobson. I don't know how many he's in but it doesn't seem like many.
I can see Dave being a lawyer, but being a lawyer didn't really seem like a fit with Rick. I don't know what would have gone well with Rick, but law just seemed a little to stuffy for him.
Jude The Obscure 07-30-2008, 06:34 PM Well my copy is in black and white....only Shout! has access to color prints.
As for Rick, why didn't simply Ozzie have what was going on with Rick in real life, follow him on the show....have him be a rock n roll singer professionally?
