Kelsey Grammer, who suffered a mild heart attack seven weeks ago, says pressure from his canceled sitcom Back to You contributed to his health problems.

"It was a very stressful time for me, and a surprise to me [that it was canceled]," Grammer, 53, said Wednesday while promoting his drama-comedy, Swing Vote, in L.A. "But you know, everything that doesn't kill us – which it almost did – makes us stronger."

Back to You, costarring Patricia Heaton, was canceled in May by Fox after one year, despite respectable ratings.

"Not happy about it," says Grammer. "I had a heart attack, maybe you heard. I was not happy about it."

But now, he says, "I think things are going to be fine, thank you. I'm doing fine. It's OK."

Asked if the health scare changed his lifestyle, Grammer said, "Oh, not a ton. Just watch your diet a little bit, take some pills."

A sitcom veteran who has Cheers and Frasier to his credit, Grammer plans to take more time out for family, and is thinking about films.

"Oh gosh, I hope so," he said. "You can only do so many a year. I have other things that matter to me, like my wife and family."

I am not surprised. He knew he had a good show and then to have the show canceled? That would stress out any actor who needs a paycheck. Kelsey and the rest of the cast deserved better.

FOX just didn't give the show a chance. I was in a bad mood for weeks after they canceled it. I was pissed off. I was watching a interview with Keksey with Mary Hart. He said it was more than a "mild heart attack". They had to "blast" him a couple of times. We almost lost him people. That would not be good. I really love this guy. He's a fighter.

Wow, I didn't realize that show had been on a year already. I meant to watch an episode, but never got around to it. That's too bad that it was canceled. Seems the good ones are always the first to go.

Of course he wasn't happy about - we were probably more pissed off about it than the cast was-LOL. I still don't see how FOX cancelled a show bringing in over 7 million viewers regularly. But, I don't even wanna go there anymore. I"m glad to hear he's doing okay, and I"m looking forward to Swing Vote - sounds like a great movie.

Wow. I'm glad Kelsey is alright. As great a show as BTY was, it wasn't worth him having a heart attack. I'm happy that he's doing much better now.
