"Michael returned to Los Angeles in 1979 with plans to learn about making movies. Then he ran into Sherman Hemsley. They had always liked each other, and now they warmly recalled the good old days on the set of the Jeffersons. After Michael left the show, another actor actor, Damon Evans had played the part of Lionel. But now Evans had left the show. Maybe Michael could come back. Hemsley called the producers of the show and they called Michael. They saw he had grown up and asked him to come back to the show. Pleased, Lionel accepted the invitation.

Unless Mike Evans himself is stating this, I won't believe it. ;) Produce an interview where Mike himself says this. Not some author. :) Just like I posted an interview of Damon Evans talking abt his role on the Jeffersons and another one where John Amos talked abt his leaving Good Times, I want one where Mike Evans is being interviewed.

I read the same story somewhere a long time ago. I don't remember where, but I have heard this. Maybe it was ET.
