You left Charles Lane out of this category. I think he deserves a nod. For me, the winner here is a toss-up between Charles Lane and Gale Gordon (though Charles Lane only appeared on a couple episodes). I think I will have to go with Gale Gordon, though.

This may sound weird, but for me, it's a tie between these two women. I *love* Vivian Vance on this show. She was allowed to be fiestier and funnier than she was as Ethel Mertz (I think Lucille Ball wanted her so much for this show that she was willing to bend over more for her and give her more of what she wanted than she had been willing to do on "I Love Lucy." Vivian Vance proved on this show she was far more than just a second banana. This series -- at least the first three seasons -- should have been called "The Lucy and Viv Show."

BEST MALE CHARACTER:
Mr. Barnsdahl
Theodore J. Mooney

Again, a toss-up, but I think Theodore J. Mooney edges out Mr. Barnsdahl by just a hair.

BEST EPISODE:
My favorite episode is none of the ones you list. In my opinion the absolute best episode of this series has to be "Lucy Is a Kangaroo for a Day." My second favorite, I think, is "Lucy Conducts the Symphony" (I'm always bowled over watching this, amazed at how hysterical Lucille Ball is, even though she doesn't utter a single word for the final two-thirds of the episode). My third favorite (again, not among those you list, is "Lucy and Viv Build a Rumpus Room."

(I don't even like "Lucy Gets Jack Benny's Account.")

WORST EPISODE:
The episodes you list "Lucy Becomes a Reporter," "Lucy and the Plumber," "Lucy In the Music World," "Lucy and Pat Collins," and "Lucy and the Pool Hustler" -- I like them all except "Lucy in the Music World" ("Lucy and Pat Collins" is so-so, but I think the opening scene is funny). I have a very big list of worst episodes, but I think "Lucy, the Star Maker" (with Frankie Avalon) takes the cake. That scene with all the bank employees and customers breaking into song and dance is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. "Lucy, the Robot," "Lucy Puts Main Street on the Map," and "Lucy and Carol Burnett, Part Two" are close runners-up.

BEST SEASON:
The first season, by a long shot.

WORST SEASON:
The fourth season.
