The kids, Lucy's daughter Chris ( Candy Moore ) and Jerry ( Jimmy Garret ). and Ralph Hart who played Viv's son Sherman.

Whatever became of them? Not too much is said about them in the many of Lucy books out there.

All three have made appearances at the Loving Lucy conventions. Jimmy Garrett has been there every year, I believe -- or at least since the 1997 convention. All three of them participated in a panel discussion in 1999 (Jimmy Garrett has participated in several panel discussions). I had the pleasure of meeting Jimmy Garrett a few years ago, and we corresponded via e-mail for a while. He remembers his time on "The Lucy Show" with great fondness and loves when people to remember him as Jerry Carmichael. As for Candy Moore, I understand she was kind of shy about coming to the conventions at first, but when she finally did in 1999, she was taken aback at the adoration she was receiving (she's a rather modest person). People lined up to get her autograph; she didn't think anyone would be interested in her autograph, much less in her thoughts about working on "The Lucy Show." She found out, to her delight, how wrong she was. And apparently her daughter got a big kick out of seeing people lining up for autographs from her mother.

As for Ralph Hart, I understand there was some difficulty for a couple years in locating him. Nobody seemed to know where he was. But he was found and seemed to have a great time at the 1999 convention. If I remember correctly, he's totally out of show business and has a "regular" job in some small California desert town far from L.A. Candy Moore is in public relations, I believe, and I seem to recall is into painting (no longer acting). Jimmy Garrett works (or worked) as an agent for showbiz types, but is no longer acting himself. He's a really great guy.

All three of them seem very well adjusted; they don't seem to have turned out to be stereotypically messed-up former child actors.

Later today after I posted this, I remembered that Candy Moore was working in journalism, not public relations. I don't know what publication she writes for, though. As for the painting thing, that may be a figment of my imagination.
