View Full Version : Best roller coaster
PlayOn 07-18-2008, 02:31 AM since we have a thread about people who are terrified of roller coasters, i thought i'd start a thread about the BEST roller coasters.
i'm a roller coaster junkie and i love all them, but i rode on this one called "Ring of Fire." it goes in single circle. i rode it this year when had the fair. sometimes, it stops at the top for a few minutes and either goes forward or backward. very awesome. the only part i didn't like about it, tho is i'm so skinny, i almost fell out. thank goodness the top was guarded by bars and had a handle bar.
i would like to go to 6 Flags, but i don't want to press my luck. as much as i love roller coasters, i like all of my body parts is tact even more. lol.
ponytail 07-18-2008, 06:48 AM My favorite one is the one in San Diego. I don't know if it's still there but it's the old fashion kind and if I remember it was wood. Plus it's by the ocean. When I went on it the price was 2.50 a ride. There's nothing fancy about it, it's just a fun roller coaster.
InspectorExstead 07-18-2008, 02:41 PM i'm not a big fan of roller coasters, but i loooove space mountain at disneyland! i haven't been on it since before they remodeled it though.
mc_light1202 07-18-2008, 08:22 PM I'm also a roller coaster junkie. My favorites are Goliath and Deja Vu at Six Flags Magic Mountain in L.A. county. I think they both top the new X2.
Jude The Obscure 07-18-2008, 11:13 PM My favorite was the late great Texas Cyclone at the late great Astroworld park in Houston, TX.
:rip:
Larenz09 07-22-2008, 11:20 AM The best and scariest one that I rode on was the Superman: Ride of Steel at Six Flags in Agauam, MA..
Don't think I can ride them any more on account I got a heart condition and have to carry Nytro with me at all times.
Jude The Obscure 07-22-2008, 11:38 AM I remember trying to ride Batman The Ride at Astroworld--the seat was so narrow and poking up through where my prostate is......I said, uh, no thank you and got off!!
phoebe7165 07-22-2008, 01:21 PM Oh man, rollercoaster junkie here. I haven't been able to get to an amusement park in a few years though, despite the fact I live an hour from Disney!!
These ones come to mind immediately -
Big Bad Wolf - Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, VA
Kumba & Montu - Busch Gardens, Tampa
Spiderman, Incredible Hulk & Dueling Dragons - Universal, Orlando
Aerosmith's Rockin' Rollercoaster - Disney MGM Studios
Texas Giant - Six Flags near Dallas
and I'm going to SoCal in Dec. and trying to decide whether to go to Knott's or Magic Mountain. We don't have time to go to both unfortunately!!
*ClassicPinUp* 07-22-2008, 02:21 PM I'll ride ANY roller coaster! That adrenaline rush is the best ;)
Aerosmith's Rockin' Rollercoaster - Disney MGM Studios
That is the BEST roller coaster! I like how you step into the "limo" and it goes forward -stops- counts down and then screeches off while blasting Aerosmith music...LOVE it! Also the fact that it's inside a building is great -I like seeing all those Hollywood signs etc. as you go through it. It goes soooo fast that I had no idea it went upside down 3 or 4 times. We go down to MGM sometimes for a few hours just to ride that over and over
Test Track - Epcot - It's hard to explain so here's the description; Test Track is a simulated excursion through the rigorous testing procedures that General Motors uses to evaluate its cars, culminating in a high-speed drive around the exterior of the attraction.
The Incredible Hulk Coaster; Universal's Islands of Adventure
Dueling Dragons; Universal's Island of Adventure - Two roller coasters that "fight." This is the type where your legs hang and while it's a great roller coaster there are 3 times that you come within 18 inches of the people on the other 'dragon' and that can be a bit scary since it feels like you're going to slam into each other.

Yeak, that and the Tower of Terror. Not a rollercoaster but I love that ride, too!! And since they're right near each other, go from one to the other and back!!

I've been on that once!!
Dueling Dragons; Universal's Island of AdventureThis is the type where your legs hang
Big Bad Wolf is like that, suspended from above. When you go into a curve, you're sideways. Also, some of the ride is above water, and there's a part where you're headed for the water, and it looks like you're going to hit it, then you curve. Pretty cool.

From one roller coaster junkie to another: You will be disappointed if you go to Knot's instead of Magic Mountain. I've been to all the major theme parks here and Magic Mountain by far caters to the thrill junkies. Knot's is better for families with younger children and for those that are not fond of roller coasters. Besides, Magic Mountain has X2, Deja Vu, and Goliath.
theshark8777 07-23-2008, 08:24 PM Millennium Force!

like theshark said, go to magic mountain. they've got serious roller coasters, including x2 and tatsu. and by december, the line for x2 won't be as long as i hear they are now, so you won't have to wait for too long.

Thanks guys, for the info!! It looks like MM!!
BTW, I didn't mean to misspell Knott's!!:D
theshark8777 07-24-2008, 05:12 PM Just for the record I said Cedar Point, but of those choices, I'd definitely say Magic Mountain!
