View Full Version : Price Is Right season 37 news
mriggles 07-17-2008, 11:09 PM Hello everyone...
Here is what I can tell at the moment, It is not much but at least its something.
Season 37 begins taping this sunday, however according to my friend in hollywood this will not be the premiere week, the premiere week will actually be taped the following week.
So the first 2 weeks of season 37 will be taped out of order.
Ok on to the rumors: I can only comment on a few things, there has been alot of talk about the changes to the set & it appears there will be some changes to the set, but at least from my vantage point it does not appear the show will go thru a complete overhaul like most have feared. With that said, starting this season there will in fact be a video wall that is used in some shape or form. I have been asked by alot of people on this board about this & i can confirm there will be a video wall on the set.
There are many different things that this could be used for, lets just say that it will be well used.
According to my friend there will be a new game debuting on the 37th season premiere, which was created by Roger Dobkowitz, this will be ROgers Final stamp on the show. One of the reasons that the shows are being taped out of order is so this game can be completed & debuted on the first show of season 37. It is in the final stages of preparation
I have been told not to say the name of the game just yet or anything about it, but it has the makings of a good game. Lets just say that the name of the game really fits in with a major problem facing this country right now.
Again, I honor my friends wishes, when he tells me not to say something I don't....
Another thing I Can confirm which is not really breaking news, is that starting with the season premiere the show will be broadcast in HD every single day, not just the primetime shows.
BTW Just in case anyone hears anything about Drew Carey being replaced, do not believe it, it is not true in anyway. Someone sent me a link to an article that surfaced recently reporting that very fact. She asked me to confirm this. I Can say without hesitation that Drew will be the host for season 37 of the price is right
That is what I Can tell at this point folks, there is more news coming very soon including news on Rogers Replacement, potential other set changes & dare I say a road trip or 2 for price in season 37? As soon as I get the ok to talk about I will. I am on vacation for a week starting saturday & then I have surgery the following week, so I will try & get some more news before I leave on Saturday or else it will have to wait till I get home from surgery
If anyone has questions, let me know...If i can answer them I will!!
Mr. Morrison86 07-18-2008, 12:36 AM when you mean a Complete Overhaul does that mean 6 Pricing Games,One Bids,Showcase Showdown, and 2 Showcases it's that gonna stay the same. I hope it does.

It appears the general premice of the show will remain the same, Of course this is subject to change, but I am fairly confident the show per say will be the same. I am hearing about minor changes, when I find out what they are I will let u know

Thanks for the updates! I'm looking forward to season 37 to see how the changes being made affect the look of the show.
Thanks for keeping us in touch, mriggles.
I'm not gonna try to get any info about the new game out of you, but your hints made me speculate, and for some reason I think it might be a car game dealing with gas prices lol

your welcome. I am off on vacation starting tomorrow & then I am having surgery the following week... But get your list of questions together & i will answer them when I get home, I am guessing that I will not have any restrictions on what I Can & can't say by that time. Lord knows I will have time on my hands

I definitely have a lot of questions to ask you and I'm looking forward to learning more about TPIR as time goes on. The information that you share is greatly appreciated and I think it's great to know a TPIR contact that can provide a unique behind the scenes perspective.
Enjoy the vacation and all the best for a good outcome to your surgery!
JulieSomoski 07-20-2008, 01:20 PM Thankyou for the updates! I'm glad I came back to hear that nothing major is being done at this point, although I wouldn't be surprised if a whole new set is being worked on at this moment. I'm glad to see a new game arise this season, and I'm hoping Drew sticks around for awhile!
Chelsea 07-20-2008, 09:18 PM The first episode to be taped of Price is Right's 37th season (it's 6th aired) is in the books. Among the changes at the first taping:
*The new producer is longtime Price staffer Kathy "Fingers" Greco
*The show is being aired in high definition starting this season.
*The red/black sides of the Big Wheel are now some sort of purple design with a large silver TPiR Font (Pricedown) dollar sign down each side.
*Apparently for this week (2nd week to air) only, the formerly black spaces on the wheel (IE: Everything but .05, 1.00, and .15) are purple. Apparently they realized how ugly that would look, as Drew told the audience the spaces would change back to black at next weeks' tapings
*The show has now adopted the nighttime set entirely with the exception of the floor, which is still white.
*The winnings for bonus spins have increased: Getting the .05 or .15 now earns you $10,000; hitting the dollar in your bonus spin is now worth $25,000.
*A few pricing games are getting boosts for inflation (Check Game is one, and I know of at least one other )

AS for the bigger changes rumored: We're not out of the woods quite yet - no one's sure whether they'll occur at all, or November, or February, or some random Thursday in October.
Ireneparalegal 07-20-2008, 09:30 PM $25K????? WOW!!!!!!
JulieSomoski 07-21-2008, 12:46 PM Good to hear nothing dramatic is taking place. Not quite sure how the wheel will look, but at least that's the only thing that really changed. Let's hope it stays that way for awhile yet.
TPIRfan333 07-21-2008, 01:18 PM What's it gonna take to finally kill the Price is Right? Is CBS going to let this show go on for 60 years? I just want to know how much life the show has left in it before it's time expires on CBS. Don't get me wrong I love Price and Drew is doing a great job but how long is CBS going to let the show go on for?

It's amazing that PIR has been on for 36 years! I was really skeptical of Drew Cary taking over (what were they thinking?!), but he's really not bad. I think John O'Hurley would have made a good host. I loved him on Family Feud!

Nice work Seth, I couldn't have said that better myself... Good work digging that up. The only thing that I can add so far is that the much talked about video wall has not yet made an appearance in the studio. Does this mean it will not be used? No not at all, From what I am hearing the video wall may maybe debuted in prime time specials later this year.
Another thing I can add is let us all say the following words: THANK YOU FINGERS!!!!!
Kathy " fingers greco" as said above is the new producer of the show replacing Roger DObkowitz. Trust me when I say the show is in goooooooooooood hands. Kathy knows the show inside & out & she knows what price fans like & what price fans don't like. She is basically A clone Of roger. She has Decades of experience on the show & at least FOR NOW she is running the show
So basically we price fans at least for now dodged some bullets with no major set changes to deal with.
I can tell you this beyond a shadow of a doubt, There are many within fremantle media who want to turn our beloved show upside down, but at least now as I write this, just some minor changes can be expected.
As I talked about in previous posts & threads a new game is scheduled to debut on the first show of season 37 which appears to be set to air on monday September 22nd.
I am not saying a word on its title but lets just say there are some smart people on this board;)
You know my rules, until I get the green light to talk about it I don't talk about it.
I think between seth & myself we pretty much have discussed things pretty well.
As always, any ?'s just ask me :)
mriggles 07-25-2008, 11:38 PM $25K????? WOW!!!!!!
You ain't seen nothin yet ;)
Yay, Fingers! I always liked it whenever she'd appear on camera. She also created Secret X back in 1975, right?
TPIRfan333 07-26-2008, 10:01 AM All I'm worried about is the show's ratings not coming back and wether or not these changes will alienate the show's audience. Not that it should matter because they are watching the View. I can't believe the longest-running game show is losing to the View.
mriggles 07-26-2008, 07:47 PM Yay, Fingers! I always liked it whenever she'd appear on camera. She also created Secret X back in 1975, right?
Yes I believe your right, I will find out for sure & get back to you

Yeah that is pretty bad, after 30 years of being the number 1 show in daytime, to lose to a show like that is just plain BAD!!!!
I am not sure if all the price fans went to the view instead of price, but I Can tell you this, 2 people that I am very close with are or should I say were die hard fans of the show, but after 1 week of drew at the helm they left never came back.

As of now only the absolute die hard nuts like myself are going to notice the changes, They are really not a big deal. The nighttime set moving to daytime to me is not a big deal. Over the last 11 years the show very often had changes to the set on a yearly basis, but everyone is on edge now because of the fact our beloved Bob Barker is not running the show anymore & you knew the show would never change with him at the helm.
I personally think with kathy at the helm things will remain basically the same.... That is subject to change of course, but for now we are safe & i doubt very much they will change things radically mid season, so i think we have another year of security!!!
If things do change, trust me I will let you all know the moment I get the news
I think it's rather unfair to take shots of "The View" and its fans just because it's getting better ratings than TPIR. That show has become a lot more than what people have always made it out to be, and I think it's time it got the respect that it deserves. The current panel is one of the best they've ever had and the show is working more than it's been in a long time.
I love both shows and when Bob was still hosting TPIR, I watched them both daily (I have two CBS's -- one airs TPIR in its correct time, the other airs it an hour later), but months later, I still don't have much interest in watching Drew bumble his way through America's favorite game show.
Yes I believe your right, I will find out for sure & get back to you
Ah, all right. I looked it up and she did in fact create it. I'm just ecstatic that the EP is still going to be someone who's been around the show forever. Like you said, it'll be pretty much like having Dobkowitz still around.
TPIRfan333 07-29-2008, 08:43 PM A new co-exec producer has been named for TPIR. He hosted Beauty and the Geek. His name is Michael Richards.
BigErn 07-31-2008, 06:03 AM You ain't seen nothin yet ;)
What does that mean? If $25,000 is nothing, what is getting raised?
Ah, all right. I looked it up and she did in fact create it. I'm just ecstatic that the EP is still going to be someone who's been around the show forever. Like you said, it'll be pretty much like having Dobkowitz still around.
The EP of the show I think is Syd Vinnedge. From everything I understand, he's nothing like having Dobkowitz still around.
BigErn 08-04-2008, 05:09 PM What does that mean? If $25,000 is nothing, what is getting raised?
mriggles, you out there?
mriggles 08-04-2008, 08:53 PM mriggles, you out there?
yeah I am here...forgive me I haven't been on much lately cause of surgery, but there was a rumor about the big wheel being significantly raised as far as bonus money was concerned.
It still is a significant raise in money... U still get a 1000 bonus if u get the dollar in one spin or a combination of 2 spins, in the bonus spin if u get one of the green sections you now get 10,000 (there was a rumor that was going to be 25,000) & if u get the 1.00 in the bonus spin you now get 25,000 (rumor was 50,000
Thats why I don't post rumors here that I hear from my friend, until he confirms it I say nothing.....
All in all season 37 is set to appear for the most part just like season 36. A few changes to the set, the area next to the big wheel has undergone quite a facelift.
From what my friend tells me the nightime set is now the daytime set & the design of the primetime shows are basically what u see in the daytime now minus the black floor.
The season premiere taped this past week & as i reported here several weeks ago a new game (the last created by roger) will in fact be on that show. I know nothing about it other than the title, I am a bit behind since I have been basically out of action for 2 weeks
mriggles 08-04-2008, 08:55 PM What does that mean? If $25,000 is nothing, what is getting raised?
The EP of the show I think is Syd Vinnedge. From everything I understand, he's nothing like having Dobkowitz still around.
Syd is the EP now, he is not as hands on as he used to be apparently. FRom what it sounds like, he is letting kathy do her job & apparently he stepped up in a big way to save the show from undergoing a full transformation. So he deserves applause for that!!!

Oh wow, who said that? What changes did they plan?
MrCleveland 08-04-2008, 10:43 PM I just hope Drew Carey can STILL keep that job!
mriggles 08-05-2008, 11:09 AM I just hope Drew Carey can STILL keep that job!
Drew will be the host for season 37!!!!
mriggles 08-05-2008, 11:13 AM Oh wow, who said that? What changes did they plan?
As discussed in previous posts, there were plans to completely redesign the set of the show with a look similar to that of american idol. Fortunately the idea was squashed & they once again realized that there is a reason the show has survived 36 years.
Despite what people may read, there were a few people within fremantle who really wanted to turn the show upside down, but in the end all worked out (for now) & no major changes to the set can be expected when season 37 kicks off on the 22nd of sept other than the ones we have discussed
BigErn 08-05-2008, 01:43 PM Ok thank you mriggles!
I heard that Sid was one of those who wanted to make big changes, and you said he was not. I was just curious what the truth is.
mriggles 08-06-2008, 09:02 AM Ok thank you mriggles!
I heard that Sid was one of those who wanted to make big changes, and you said he was not. I was just curious what the truth is.
He was one of those people that wanted to make changes, but he has a year under his belt as EP now & thankfully he learned alot in that year. Syd is not someone I would totally trust as far as he may change his mind tomorrow, but it appears that he is under control for now.
As I have said many times here, SYD is all about the bottom line & as long as the advertising dollars are still there ( and they are trust me) I think he will keep things the same, but that is just my theory based on what I know about the situation now
Mr. Morrison86 08-06-2008, 10:26 PM Hey,Mike i was wondering have talk about any plans going to the Road this season.
TPIRfan333 08-07-2008, 03:14 PM What I want to know is with the dropping daytime television ratings. What will CBS do if Price's ratings continue to go down in Season 37? Will they just cancel the show or let it go on for the rest of Drew's contract and then cancel it or try it in syndication? Make no bones about it Price's ratings ARE down and CBS wants to fix the problem and try to attract a younger demographic to the Price is Right which won't happen because it's not 1972 anymore and the younger audience is at work or school when Price is airing.
mriggles 08-07-2008, 08:24 PM Hey,Mike i was wondering have talk about any plans going to the Road this season.
I heard talk about a month or 2 ago that they were planning a few road trips for season 37 during the rating sweeps periods. Cleveland & Boston were mentioned, but that was 2 months ago & i have not heard another word about it, my gut feeling says with the changes in the staff, I would not count on it, but we will see. You will be the first to know if I get word of it

You make some good points my friend, but as long as the show is making money (which it is big time) the show is safe, but like everything else it is subject to change.
The ratings are a big problem, no doubt about it, but right now the advertising dollars are there & from what I understand the show is on the way to being sold out for season 37 as far as commercials go, as lomng as the $$$$$$ is there we are safe.
The ratings for the season broke down like this.
First 2 weeks of the season (oct 15-19) & oct 22-26 were on par with Bobs Last week of shows.
THen the next week, the ratings slipped & the decline of the ratings continued right thru xmas.
Then something happened with the prime time shows & more people were exposed to the show again & they got a look at DREW as host & the ratings picked up somewhat & they rallied to a good level by the end of feb, then they dropped a bit in March & then finished strong starting mid june thru the close of season 36 in mid july.
It is very similar to what Jay leno went thru when he replaced Johnny, I honestly think The ratings will improve or at the least stay the same.

The doors don't look bad to me. What do you think?
JulieSomoski 08-11-2008, 05:48 PM I think so far, the set looks the same. The door changes haredly look changed, except for the "37 years" thing on them. So far so good!

I like them alot...they are the same exact doors that were seen on the million dollar spectaculars from season 36.
To this point most things will look the same, just the area around the big wheel will be a bit different

Yep & it looks like it is going to stay that way
Mr. Morrison86 08-12-2008, 10:31 AM Yeah,i love the set I'm Glad they got a Primetime Set to move on Daytime,i even more happy they still have the white floor with Red Asterisks. i think i'm gonna like the Big Wheel it matches with the Set.

mriggles 08-17-2008, 03:14 PM Where did you see a picture?
a friend of mine had a link that was from a local LA morning show that was on the set recently.
BigErn 08-18-2008, 11:29 PM What is the link?
mriggles 08-23-2008, 09:07 AM it was on the good day LA show website, I just checked the site & the article is no longer on the site, I even did a search for it. Same thing happened last year. CBS probably asked them to take it down, they don't want to much known about their shows before the new season hits the air. It happened soooooooooooo much last summer before the new set was on TV.
TPIRfan333 08-26-2008, 10:50 PM I read on Golden-Road.net that Fremantle is going to be having a meeting this Friday to discuss major updates to Price. And something concerning Drew. Also they are not including Fingers in this meeting.

I was on vacation this week so I have been totally & i mean totally out of the loop, but let me make a few calls & see what I can dig up.
I can tell you this for certain: The last big meeting fremantle held resulted in the firing in our friend the Dob. STAY TUNED
mriggles 09-06-2008, 12:17 PM I have been trying to dig for a week on this alleged " big meeting". The only meeting that was held from what I Can gather is the weekly production meeting at the end of the weeks tapings. All of my contacts know nothing about anything that was mentioned in previous posts about a special meeting.
GolfDude 10-30-2008, 11:35 AM wow almost 2 full months and its been dead quiet..
GolfDude 11-04-2008, 12:03 PM looks like the video wall just made an appearance
Heidi Dawn 11-11-2008, 02:31 PM Wow, people are at each others throats at the Golden Road.net board. I can't stand posting there anymore because of the fighting. They are still bitter over Roger's dismissal, that was four months ago people, it's time to move on and be a little more optimistic like I am. I'm enjoying TPIR more now than ever because of the changes. Staff come and go in many jobs, it's something people have to get used to.
More staff members were axed since Roger's dismissal. Jeff Thisted was fired, he worked behind the scenes and was once engaged to Rebecca Pribonic. Also, five models were let go: Shane Stirling, Phire Dawson, Gabrielle Tuite, Tamiko Nash, and Stephanie Schlund (she was only on a few episodes towards the end of season 36). The only ones left are: Brandi Sherwood, Lanisha Cole, Rachel Reynolds, Gwendolyn Osbourne, and Amber Lancaster.
UPDATE: Buy or Sell has been retired. It wasn't one of my favourite pricing games anyway. Clock Game has been using prizes above $999, they might as well seeing since most of the contestants guess in the $1,500's. Three Strikes has one strike in the bag and the first digit is given for free. It takes me back to when the game was played for four digit cars. This is a timesaver and I did like the game alot better before they started playing for luxury cars.

As a frequent poster at golden-road.net, I can say that I think the only reason why they complain so much about those tiny little nuisances is because they want every (and I mean) every single detail to remain unchanged. Every time something gets automatically changed, they act like as if it's the end of the world.
Scoobiedoo30 11-25-2008, 03:05 PM it is hard to belive That The Price is Right is 37 Year's old
GolfDude 01-28-2009, 12:50 PM i loved Drew's Copycat Contestant in Todays episode, and was cool that Drew let him announce an intro back from commercial.. (meanwhile i see a certain website will surely call this a tragedy and a mockery of the price is right b/c Bob would never allow that blah blah blah)

This was just as great as the 'Drew balloon'. The lookalike contestant, that was funny. He even had the same glasses that Drew used to wear.
Has anyone noticed that the prizes have gotten better? I mean, more foreign name cars are being offered besides Honda. We've had Jaguar, Toyota, Volkswagon, Audi, Porsche, and Austin Mini Cooper offered so far. I'm sorry, but the 3 American automakers just don't make quality cars anymore and that's why they're in trouble besides paying their executives ridiculously high wages.
Kudos to offering designer clothing again, I don't think clothing has been offered as prizes since the late 1970's/early 1980's/.
One more staffing change, Bart Alexander has been let go. Brian DiPerro becomes the new director. The greenscreens for trips will be replaced with video screens come February. I hated those old trip skin displays, they were tacky, the greenscreens are much nicer.
mriggles 01-29-2009, 11:29 PM Bart was always very nice to me when I was visiting the show... On my last visit , he seemed alot different & not having as much fun as in recent years & you kind of felt a bit of hostility towards him by the staff... Just my own observation watching one of the rehearsals.
From what I understand, we can expect just about anything out of the Brian Dipirro.. If people are having issues now, wait till his shows start airing....

What's the story about Brian Dipirro? In your opinion is he going to make TPIR better or worse by the decisions/changes he makes?
Mr. Morrison86 02-02-2009, 11:34 AM you know according to the website Golden-Road.net Bob Barker is expecting make an apperance on the show about his book. I actually glad they're getting rid of greenscreens to bring out plasma screens i think they will look much better to look at on television. now as R. Brian Dipirro as the new Director of TPIR. I am little optimtisic. maybe he bring some classic elements back on camera, like the arrows, you never know? he's expecting to make his debut sometime this month.
Heidi Dawn 02-02-2009, 01:57 PM R. Brian DiPirro directed the Gameshow Marathon in 2006. Watching every show in that special, I personally found his directing reminiscent of Marc Breslow's style on TPIR and other Goodson/Todman game shows of the 1970's/1980's/.
You want to know something, I found that TPIR went downhill in quality for me back in 1993, when Dian left and other staff members were fired for no reason. You can even argue that the quality went downhill when Bob was named Executive Producer. Now with more staff members being let go for either creative differences or salary issues, I feel that TPIR is going back to the quality it was back in the 1980's, in my opinion.
GolfDude 02-04-2009, 12:29 PM from what it sounds like, hes appearing at the march 2nd or 3rd taping i believe.. the question is how do they fit a book promo into the show.. and how do the keep the audience from going overboard with both drew and bob on stage at once...

It'll be interesting to see how it turns out. Bob's appearing is supposed to air sometime in April.
Scoobiedoo30 02-04-2009, 05:05 PM Drew Carey is veryt funnie on The Price is Right.
Heidi Dawn 02-13-2009, 05:22 PM More news: Yesterday was the first show using the plasma screens for trip displays, I thought they looked nice. The screen at the back of the audience reminds me when they used to have the Plinko sign there. At the end of the showcase, one or two plasma screens are rolled out on carts if the winning showcase featured trips.
Today's show was historic for TPIR. It was the first time ever that couples competed for cash and prizes as part of Valentine's Day. Married, dating, and engaged couples were featured. The people at GoldenRoad.net were so worried about what might happen (they called it a disaster before they even saw it), but I enjoyed it. I hope they do the same for next year.
TPIR salutes the Academy of Country Music Awards in April. Reba McEntire will appear on an episode in April, scheduled for daytime airing. The ACM Awards air on CBS sometime in April. I look forward to Reba's appearance.
TPIR model Brandi Sherwood announced today that she and her husband are expecting twins in June. The past few shows that aired, I wondered if she was pregnant, she looked as though she was and she is. It's the third time a TPIR model was pregnant and still doing the show. Shane Stirling and Gwendolyn Osborne-Smith were still doing the show while they were pregnant.

Actually, I thought TPIR was starting a downhill point in 1995 when Holly Hallstrom was (undeservedly) fired. I'm not exactly a Dian fan, so I wasn't sad to see her go, but Holly, Janice, & Kathleen deserved to stay on much longer than they did. I actually liked the 1993-95 era when they were three of the models (later to be joined by Gena Lee Nolin after the model search ended). But despite what some people think, I actually like Drew Carey as the new host of TPIR and the new models that are in the rotation right now (especially Brandi & Rachel). I think it's slowly but surely getting back to being the hour of fun it was before 1995!

Dian's exit lead to the firings of Holly, Janice, and Kathleen. Bob used Holly's weight gain as an excuse to get her off the show when she testified on Dian's behalf that Bob was sexually harrassing Dian. When Holly sued the show, Janice and Kathleen and a few other staff members testified against Bob and Bob fired them. I always did believe that Bob sexually harrassed Dian so that she could keep her job, so I don't blame her for quitting the show. Bob was a jerk, a pimp, and a dictator behind the scenes.
I don't even post on Golden Road.net anymore because I can't stand it there. Every post seems to come to the conclusion that Drew was behind many of the changes and that Drew stinks. Whenever I posted in Drew's defence and that I was in favor of the show's new direction, I felt I was treated as an outcast and that no one respected my opinion. They think that Roger was 'God' and every post comes to the conclusion that Roger should have never been fired. I thought he was an old 'fuddy duddy' that wouldn't change with the times, I blame him for schedule 'Plinko' every friggin week, it made me hate the game even more!
Mr. Morrison86 02-17-2009, 03:56 PM Yeah I love the new plasma screens,I watch Today's Show I saw the end where they put the contestant when she won her showcase on the plasma screen in back of the studio. I love Valentine's Show,I wish they did more themed shows like these? they will also be a Baby Shower Theme that's expecting to air in April!! I agree,I can't wait to see Reba!! in a couple weeks new director R. Brian Dipirro will have his shows airing!!
JulieSomoski 02-17-2009, 06:21 PM Also loved the Valentine's Day Episode - probably one of the most memorable from this season. I'm also in favor of more themed shows. Hopefully we'll getting a good April Fool's Day episode this year. The 4th of July ones from last season were also good.
GolfDude 03-06-2009, 11:57 AM Drew got Pneumonia, so Bob's appearance may not happen now b/c that week of shows were cancelled.. so bob's show may not get rescheduled...

They cancelled the ACM salute show too. I did read that the tapings have ressumed. Don't know if Bob will be rescheduled for a later date.
Mr. Morrison86 03-10-2009, 09:15 PM How do y'all think Dipirro's Directing so far? Me,Personally I like it so far,I love Spinning turntables, camera work, the plinko graphics, and the showcase win graphics,he's a doing very good job directing the show. Speaking of Country Music Awards according to CBS.com Price is Right's website on there did rescheduled it on March 9th of yesterday and they are doing tapings this week.
GolfDude 03-30-2009, 01:41 PM looks like this years april fool episode is gonna be great.. with Mimi as a model..
hope we get another showcase full of stato intellicators and trans rebounders !
Heidi Dawn 05-01-2009, 02:27 PM I really enjoyed the ACM salute show and all the other special shows (I didn't see the episode with Bob's appearance, but I was able to see the whole clip on YouTube).
Now, there's a debate on that certain website whether Drew should say 'item up for bids' or 'prize up for bids'. I like 'prize up for bids' better because technically, the contestant does win that prize to play a pricing game. They been calling Drew a 'jackass', which I don't think is very nice considering that staff members of TPIR do read that board.
The new director has made wonders on the show. A lot of Breslow's techniques are being used again: the showcase showdown arrow was brought back for bonus spins only, games being shown coming around the turntable though I do wish they would show them go back around the turntable when going to commercial. I do like the video walls for trips a lot better than the trip skins, which were outdated and ugly.
