It's a funny bone emergency as TV Land welcomes the Emmy winning sitcom Scrubs to its roster with an 7-hour Labor Day marathon from 4pm-11pm. The laughter kicks off with the episode that launched the hit series. Among the other episodes are a tribute to classic TV shows in "My Life in Four Cameras." wow, early airing for Scrubs, I was expecting something more along the lines of 11-12am. And where is JSM? They just acquired it and it's already gone.

Just Shoot Me is weekends at 4:30am.

I wish TV Land would have more night airings of Mad About You and Murphy Brown. It's disappointing that these shows are on SONY's canceled DVDs list, so if TV Land aired them more, maybe fans would campaign for more releases. It would also be nice to see Maude again. What's replacing The Addams Family?

Murphy Brown is a WB show, not Sony. But I agree, it should be aired more, and more seasons should be released. I hardly even watch TV Land anymore, except for an occasional episode of MASH when nothing else is on.

This network seems to shine in the first half of the year, then slowly gets worse as the year goes on. Does anyone else notice this?-LOL. Seriously, they need to cut back NOW on Andy Griffith and MASH. Now, even Beverly Hillbillies is getting overplayed, when the real quality shows are getting slapped in the face.

I don't think Scrubs will work at 9pm - they'll probably move it to 11pm soon, because it just seems right there. And they're really hyping-up Cosby this time around - I guess they really want it to do well. And it's a shame that Murphy Brown only gets the weekend airings. I feel so bad for that show, it can't get a break on any network.

I can see TV Land Replacing A Hour of M*A*S*H with Three's Company in Late September or Replacing Scrubs with Three's Company if it Fails.

I have a feeling come October, we're gonna see another huge schedule overhaul. If not, one of the Cosby hours will probably get replaced.

I can't tell you enough how much this network bugs me! :mad:

Me too. I made the mistake of trying to watch a few episodes of The Jeffersons last night because they are in the final season and I have not seen those for a while. TVLand is just awful. Very long commercial breaks at the wrong times horrible editing of shows and in general a choppy feel to the show. I can see now why I haven't watched this channel for years now. It only took an hour last night to remind me.

The stupid annoying commercial breaks in the middle of an act are just ridiculous, but I know why they do it. If they aired their endless commercials when the show was made for them it would mean people would tune in about 4 minutes into the show and tune out the last four minutes since they don't need to see the opening or closing credits. Of course since they show no closing credits people would not stay tuned to see a commercial after a long commercial break. What a freaking joke of a channel. :mad:

Cosby Show marathon is now week of Sept. 22 instead of Sept. 15. Cheers might be renewed now, but I don't have updated version of week of 9/29 yet, and it might be gone starting then. But originally Cheers was leaving week of 9/15, but instead they pulled Mad About You, Designing Women, and All in the Family week of 9/22.

I am so sick of this network - they do nothing to add variety to their schedule. Their morning lineup has been great all year long - such variety, and great shows. No it's nothing but the same old tired stuff. More MASH, more Sanford and Son, more Andy Griffith - it's always the same.

Cheers won't be renewed, it will just air for two more additional weeks at 8:30am weekday mornings before leaving Sept. 29. Week of Sept. 29 schedule is not out yet since it is considered their October line-up.

Cheers still adds very little variety, but I guess they wanted to waste the airplays before it's gone for good. Hopefully All in the Family or Mad About You can take its place in October, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Andy Griffith or MASH take it instead - no one ever gets sick of those shows :rolleyes:

I think the 80s-90s sitcoms in the early morning are probably coming to an end - I agree with Pavan, shows like Designing Women, Just Shoot Me (which they acquired for TV Land's "boomers"), Murphy Brown, Night Court, etc. We'll probably see double episodes of 3rd Rock From The Sun in the mornings, but I predict that will be pulled (along with most of Scrubs airings, if not Scrubs entirely since it's a shared deal).

It's sad to see good shows like Mad About You and Murphy Brown just shoved off to the side once again for crappy shows like 3rd Rock and the other overplayed TV Land shows. I doubt EM: HE will last long on a daily run - the shows been moved around so many times for its weekly run already.

EM: HE has only regularly moved twice (Wednesdays at 11 and now Saturdays at 11). It has done fairly well for them.

I think scrubs would be the only actively running TV series that would be on TV Land. I don't like it one bit.

Just from watching the pilot, you knew there was going to be a lot of sex :lol: They do it right there on the kitchen counter with all their family and friends in the next room - but overall, a very good pilot-LOL

Could be testing the waters if you ask me. Spike TV airs reruns of the show, a sister station of TV Land, so they could easily share the show.

Why do they always feel that they have to advertise the shows that already have incredible ratings? How about the do a promotional marathon of something that *isn't* all that hot in the ratings? To be honest with you, I think this is more to benfit TVLand than it is to benefit CSI.

Like TV Land needs another current show added to their lineup. Scrubs and EM: Home Edition is enough for me right now.

I for one would quit watching if they keep on ruining the channel. I can stick to Hallmark. I'm more into seeing older stuff. If I wanted new stuff then I could see TNT, TBS, Spike and so on. I'm one of those who started with TV Land in 96 as I felt it was a replacement for local tv which started getting rid of old reruns and Nick at Nite which was getting dull. I don't mind some of the stuff on tv land for now, but Scrubs on everywhere so no need for it on TV Land. Comdey Central, local tv, and WGN has it. At least for now. Also there is Fancast and DVDs I can go to if I need it.

ok I understand if ratings and advertising is a problem. I saw some of the reality shows they ran before. But if it were to make a drastic change, which for now it is not that drastic, I have less to watch on the channel. Usually put it on evenings when I don't like anything else and watch.

But the Network is still 75% Classic TV. It's not like it's 20% Classic TV and 80% Reality shows and Movies

It was a dumb move. They seem to do well with the classics, so I don't really understand why they keep heading with current shows. I think Scrubs and 3rd Rock were both dumb moves, and the little CSI marathon makes no sense at all.

I think it can go into the 90s with shows like Family Matters, Fresh Prince, Full House, Growing Pains (end of the series). As long as they end before 2000and deserve to be classic, I am ok with it.

I can never figure out when a certain show will be on because it seems like they preempt every show on their schedule as if to force the viewer into watching a lousy reality show or a bad movie. Thank goodness for the off button on the remote. Classic tv will always be around-at least I hope. New generations need to discover it. WGN America is bringing Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie to their schedule next month. And Coach and In the Heat of the Night. I don't think it is just Tvland that has gone down the tubes-I mean have you guys tried to watch the news lately? Or should I say the so-called news? They seem more interested in celebrity and just tearing each other down. I for one am debating about keeping the cable. I watch an analog tv anyway-why would I want to get a converter box? Can anybody give me any tips on HDtv-if all the shows I watch are in full screen what is the benefit? Thanks for any info you can provide.

One of Sacred Heart's newest patients experiences everything in the hospital as in a musical, and Elliot tries to figure out how to break it to J.D. that he can't move in. Elsewhere Carla contemplates her working future.

In an attempt to impress Dr. Cox, J.D. tries to convince a patient to stop smoking. Meanwhile Carla picks on Elliot for having a privileged upbringing, but Turk steps in to help smooth things over and ends up scoring a date with Carla.

J.D., Turk and Elliot each have elderly patients -all with different ailments. As Turk treats his hernia patient and Elliot treats her potential lupus patient, J.D. becomes attached to his patient who is in renal failure.

J.D. becomes the patient in this episode when he is admitted for appendicitis. As Elliot examines him, J.D. has a first-hand experience with her cold bed-side manner, and later he requests that Turk not perform his operation which causes tension. Elsewhere in the hospital, Dr. Cox does everything he can to impress his mentor, the former Chief of Medicine, who is also a hospital patient.

Dr. Cox is out-shone by Dr. Kevin Casey (played by guest star Michael J. Fox), an obsessive compulsive surgeon with an extensive knowledge of obscure diseases, and J.D. begins to see him as a mentor. Meanwhile, the janitor gets some help with a garbage dilemma.

"My Best Friend's Wedding"
Turk & Carla's wedding day finally arrives, but Turk is delayed by a demanding patient and J.D. does everything he can to mend his friendship with Elliot. This episode guest-stars Scott Foley and Freddy Rodriguez.

It was popular for about 2 seasons, then ratings slipped and slipped, and they're pretty much off the charts this season. Did the show even manage to make it in the top 100??-LOL

Finally some decent programming decisions by TV Land!

I know Scrubs is rated TV-14 on NBC, ABC, and syndication, but does it retain the TV-14 rating on TV Land?

Enough with the newer shows & reality shows. We are sick of them lol. Ad nauseum. LOL. We got satellite dish a few yrs back so we could watch old 50's-70's shows like on TVLAND. And now they want to give us this newer junk! YUCK! If they go to even more newer shows, I could end up with NOTHING to watch. I am not happy about that. RTN please come to my area. They have some good shows on but no station in my area. I am almost wishing I lived in Chicago so I could get their tv channel that plays the old shows. That one oughta be put on Dish Network. We would watch...
