Has anyone noticed how much the writers of "The Simpsons" like to refer to "The Lucy Show"?
In one clip episode, everyone starts bringing up past memories, leading to clips. Then, Homer says "Remember the time I locked Mr. Mooney in a safe? It was another one of my crazy adventures...oh, wait, that was a 'Lucy Show'."
In another episode, the family is at a flea market, and Mo the bartender is hawking "Genuine oyster-shells hand painted to look like Lucille Ball. You're gonna love Oyster Lucy!" Then he makes his voice really deep, and imitates Lucy: "Oh, Mr. Mooney, I've just gotta meet Bob Cummings! Viiiiiiiiv!"
Finally, there's a show where Marge is laid up in the hospital, and Lisa is running the house. She has a vision of Lucille Ball, who introduces herself as "Lucy MacGillicuddy Ricardo Carmichael...and I think there's some more".
