Just a quick FYI.
Howdy folks,
I was just browsing through TCM's schedule and noticed that "Desi Arnaz and His Orchestra" is scheduled to be shown at 2:30 am (Pacific Time; check your local listings,) on Thursday morning 07/17/08. It's only a 10 min. show, but I thought the folks here would like a heads up.

Not only that, it is ON DEMAND. I have Time Warner and as I was browsing the ON DEMAND menu, lo and behold, there it was on the TCM ON DEMAND menu. I seen it the other night. Thanx for the heads up!!!! ;)

I recorded it on my DVR and I loved it! I don't have a DVD recorder so I had to put it on VHS and add it to my Lucy/Desi video library.

Oh man! I have ON DEMAND and I never noticed this was on. I wonder if I called Comcast they would be able to provide me with some answers about their schedule?   Nah, they'd probably just put me on hold until I hung up.
Hey Irene, I've got a question that's totally random and off topic. Why do the Cowboys go all the way to Oxnard California to practice?

Because we have a beautiful climate. It is not too hot or too cold considering it is summer. We are right here on the beach and the facility where the Boys practice is huge, they love the place, it is large enough for the fans to be there and watch. We do have our HOT days in summer, but usually at this time, the climate is a comfortable 80 degrees. ;)
They used to practice in Thousand Oaks, Ca. which is abt 20 mins. from here, so really, they just moved further west because it can get really HOT in Thousand Oaks at this time since the city is more inland and we are right here on the coast.

Thanks Irene! I've always wondered that since you had that on your location. Now I know! :)
The Cowboys had held training camp at San Antonio the last couple of years, practicing in the Alamo Dome. And I had been hearing they went back to Oxnard this year only because the Alamo Dome was not available this year. This will be the 20th year of Jerry Jones' control, and over that stretch they have done a lot of changing philosophy of how and where training camp should be done. But I think it's significant that when they won the Super Bowls in '92,'93, and '95, they trained in the outdoor heat (100+) in Austin, TX. Jimmy Johnson thought training hard in the heat helped endurance that would pay off later in the season... and a late season lapse 'coincidentally' has been their problem in recent years.
Glad to add to the discussion about D.A. and his orchestra  .

 Desi and his orchestra???? Ohhhhhh, yeah...that topic.
Our city worked VERY HARD at getting the boys back here for training. The revenues the boys bring to our city is enormous. ;) I remember when the L.A. Raiders practiced here at the same facility back in the days. I used to work at this local restaurant and the Raiders would come in every so often for a late lunch or early dinner break. I would get autographs for my then-husband. He was ecstactic. I wasn't. I am a COWBOY FAN!!!!!!
