I thought myself that they were pretty good. It poked fun at the genre, while trying to be a legitimate horror movie at the same time.

Now, it is official, there will be a Scream 4! I don't know what to make out of that...

I really enjoyed the original movie... truly quite scary and it re-ignited the slasher genre. I remember seeing it in the movie theatre as a kid and being totally scared out of my mind. Not sure a fourth installment will be able to break any ground in the genre...
