I don't understand why they needed a new stadium, but I guess it all comes down to money. They have to find a way to pay for all that payroll, lol.

The Mets are moving to a new stadium also next year.

I understand the Mets' new stadium will be called Citi Field, as in Citicorp. Is the new Yankee Stadium going to have a corporate name? J. P. Morgan Chase Field, anyone? Or how about Met Life Park? (Personally I hope not; I personally got to visit both the Mets' and Yankees' stadia ten years ago for baseball games!)

The new stadium for the Yankees will still be called Yankee Stadium. Yankees don't need a corporate name. It is going to look a lot like the old stadium before the remodeling in the '70s.

It's an absolutely beautiful new stadium. Personally, the "old" Yankee stadium will always hold a special place in my heart. So many wonderful memories.

I am a major Yankees hater, but I'm glad to hear that they are keeping the name. It's kind of sad to think that they are tearing down the "classic" one, but it will be interesting to see what the new stadium looks like. I hate those stupid corporate names, although I've gotten used to "Safeco Field" . "Qwest Field" is a very STUPID name, though. I liked it better when it was Seahawks Stadium, although that's not a very interesting name, either. And I was very upset to hear that "The Ballpark in Arlington" is now called "Comerica Park" or something stupid like that. I thought the "Ballpark" name was kind of cool. Fortunately Wrigley Field already has a corporate name. Now that's an awesome stadium!
