For me that would be Laverne and Shirley in 2004 on Lifetime and Benson on TV Land in 2006


I was DENIED the chance to see if I could become a fan of the show because both were pulled too fast. Especially Benson, once it was on the scheduled it was moved back to the overnight shift and then POOF it was gone-lol

TVLand hated Benson so much they traded the rights for it and 227 for The Munsters and The Addams Family early in 2007. And now those shows are probably gone after September. :rolleyes:

It made it's debut in June of 2006 and never made it to the year of 2007.


During that time period it was aired around 1:30am and it was hard for me to follow

Same for me - Benson and 227 were treated like crap on TV Land. Benson was in primetime for like a week before it got shoved to 1:30am, then Friday nights or something like that, then gone completely. Same for 227 - it immediately went to airing Saturday mornings and thats it.

I don't know, maybe TV Land is just treating their shows like I treat my photos for dating sites-lol If a certain photo doesn't genertate a lot of replies in 2-3 days I yanked immediately and try another one-lol

So maybe Benson and 227 was taking too long to bring in the viewers and TV land had to make so QUICK MOVES like I would be doing with my Photos

It's strange how certain shows that were once hot in syndication are now dead. I remember in the 80's Benson ran on two of my locals for quite a few years and A Different World and 227 aired quite a lot too and now they have all disappeared.

Benson is actually still on one of my locals, in a great slot, but it seems like nearly every 80's sitcoms got the shaft in syndication. Who's the Boss?, Growing Pains, 227, Amen, Family Ties all were in syndication for awhile, but are now dead.

Seriously, though, Will Smith has to own some part of Nick at Nite, because even now the show is still airing 3 hours straight - I don't see any other way that's possible. Either that, or he has some stocks invested across the cable networks - NAN, The N, ABC Family.

I watch it, and would watch any day of the week over Home Improvement and Roseanne-lol FP is a great fall back show like GL. Also keep in mind that the show probably has new viewers, people born between 1991 and 1997

It's not that I can't stand the show, I love it, it's just, like you said, they played it to death. Occasionally when one of my favorite episodes is on, I'll watch, or when there is nothing else on, I'll watch good ol' reliable FP, but I don't make a point to watch it like with other shows, no. I find there are some episodes that they rarely play, like the "Raphael De La Ghetto" episode.

I think ABC Family's treatment of "The Hogan Family" in the fall of 2006 fits this topic as well. It was pulled suddenly when they were at the March 1988 episodes, the entire run should have aired before that happened. At least all the eps. of the Valerie Harper era aired, though.

They got on season 9, and they had like 4 or 5 eps of that season left to air and then it was yanked off the schedule. The Hogan Family on ABC Family was gone way too soon. That made me REAL upset. They replaced it with that crappy Gilmore Girls. This is a little off topic, but, what about some shows that have had too good treatment?
They are:

I was just gonna say those two shows.

They never had a whale's chance of being on too long.

ABC Family was seemingly being too favorable towards the Olsens and Full House when they 1st had The Hogan Family.

Evening Shade never even had a chance to run long on CMT, since the PTB's decided to jump on the stupid, lame reality show bandwagon as well as the generic spilt-screen credits bandwagon as well.

I also add Murphy Brown to the mix as well.

It seem like this show gets traunced around the skeds on both N@N and TV Land quite a lot.

Also, Family Ties when it was on Hallmark barely made it around its 1st season.

I hope Saved by the Bell stays on TBS forever! I have been watching it every summer when I wake up early and don't need to be in school like normal during the year. I can't even watch the show at another time or channel. It just seems wrong. I do notice what you said, abt the E/I showing in the corner on some stations and other stations remove it after a few moments. I guess there is no obligation for that to be there throughout the airing of the program.

Mork and Mindy was another show that was yanked off my local station in 05 or 06.

Silver Spoons was removed off of the regular Me-TV sked earlier this year just as was about to enter Season 2.

Love, American Style didn't even get a chance to finish up its run on Me-Tv in the Summer of '05, as it just started in the 1972-73 season as got yanked in fall '05.

Not that I care that much for the show but Nick at Nite bought the rights to Just The Ten Of Us and never once aired it. Later announced it for TV Land, never happened. Did air during Christmas on TV Land though. At least some shows make it to air before programmers change their minds.
