Zoneboy 07-12-2008, 04:14 AM I have no favorites here, We're all equal as far as I'm concerned. Hollow 07-12-2008, 04:25 AM eh making a list would be much harder than it used to since i no longer hate this board and 95% of the people on it. but recently i've been extra appreciative of everyone who has been supportive of me in the last few months. Lee 07-12-2008, 05:12 AM Janice because she is such a great moderator and TJ because he is the best administrator you could ever wish for. Adamantium 07-12-2008, 05:47 AM Adamantium - He is just so cool and funny. And his avatar of Peter Parker from the 1990s Spider-Man cartoon is awesome! I love all the shows he loves and hate all the shows he hates. It's great... He's great. And I have the feeling he's a sexy, sexy person. ;) Ireneparalegal 07-12-2008, 11:25 AM ^^^^ OH Nuts! 07-12-2008, 11:36 AM There are quite a few I really like here, and of these a few I feel really close to, but because I don't want to slight anyone, I'm keeping the specifics to myself (but have a feeling they know who they are) waichingliu81 07-12-2008, 05:15 PM i don't have a particular preference and since i have been a member for about 1 and half years, i like everyone; well apart from the odd trolls and imbeciles posting stupid posts littlebelle 07-12-2008, 05:23 PM Mine's littlebelle- we both have a strong spot in our hearts for Angela Watson. :D Right back at you FSU. We both share common interests and I probably know him the best out of any other member. We both know the hotties we love to watch, and our actors/actresses we admire. Thanks for being a great friend, FSU. I also would like to give a shout out to all the other members who have been great to me (answered my stupid questions, sent me updates, talk to me in general ect.) I think everyone on here shares a common bond and it's a great place to come after a rough day =) Thanks again everyone. InspectorExstead 07-12-2008, 05:26 PM I think everyone on here shares a common bond and it's a great place to come after a rough day =) very well said! i always enjoy coming on here & posting. But I gotta go with me. ;) Brian Damage 07-13-2008, 11:50 AM Hmmmm... Tough call. But I gotta go with me. ;) ^^^ True Dat! As for me, I have a very short list of people I can truly call a friend. There are others who say they are friends, but will be quick to stab you in the back. PlayOn 07-14-2008, 12:40 AM all of ya'll are awesome so i don't want to get feelings hurt if i named a few people and not others because they may not be on my mind or whatever the case maybe because there's too many to name. i love everybody here. :) Mikado 07-14-2008, 01:15 AM You all know who you are :) Yooch 07-14-2008, 02:08 PM Well, thank you, kind sir:blush: You are very welcome, Tara. :) BarneyFife 07-14-2008, 02:48 PM I really don't have any favorites. Well, if you can't rely on the great people here at SO, who can you rely on(well, except maybe your family), but to some, here at SO, we are a family. I like everybody on here, even if I've disagreed with a few of you, and to just name a few who are my favorites, well, I just can't do that. Put it this way, I've been on this message board for over 5 years, when other message boards have come & gone. That I have been on here as long as I have is a true testamment to the people on here. And not always in a bad way. howierules86 07-25-2008, 09:46 PM My favorites are: Crazy for Blair - Who else could possibly love Lisa Whelchel as much as him? catlover79 - I think she's a very sweet lady who was very nice to me when I first came here, and I don't want to see her leave these boards. dawsongirl - Always knows when to speak her mind when the people of America are doing the dumbest things ever. PZelda - Another boardie who was nice to me when I first joined these boards. friendsfan77 - We seem to have the same taste in sitcoms. That's my top five, but I've only been here for about seven months, so I might have left some people out. Nighthawk76 07-26-2008, 12:21 AM Crazy for Blair - Who else could possibly love Lisa Whelchel as much as him? . Aww...thanks. PunkyP0WER 07-26-2008, 12:43 AM ok, i like you all but i'm particularly fond of ireneparalegal - she's very wise and sensible and opinionated (which i enjoy) and always supportive of everyone. her words are always comforting to me. i kind of see her as the mother hen of the board catlover - she's so sweet and always with a kind word that never fails to cheer me up. she always make a special effort to reply to a post of mine (as i'm semi new and sometimes feel like i'm on the sidelines) and i like sharing jokes with her. dawsonsgirl - i like her tell it like it is attitude and enjoy her thoughts on all the "controversial" posts. i think if we met in real life we'd be friends. we like a lot of the same shows andsharea lot of thesame opinions. classicpinup - a doll. always so sweet and kind. his posts always make me feel hopeful i know i'm forgetting so many! like i said i love everyone, the people named are members i interact with the most Nighthawk76 07-26-2008, 12:54 AM ok, i like you all but i'm particularly fond of ireneparalegal - she's very wise and sensible and opinionated (which i enjoy) and always supportive of everyone. her words are always comforting to me. i kind of see her as the mother hen of the board Irene is sort of like the Yoda of SO. I love Cathy's outlook on life too. KissMyGrits 07-26-2008, 01:05 AM I have a few favorites that shall remain nameless. They know who they are and why I love them. They each have their own special qualities that make them special to me!! Chelly dawsongirl 07-26-2008, 01:15 AM dawsongirl - Always knows when to speak her mind when the people of America are doing the dumbest things ever. Too many opportunities these days, too. dawsongirl 07-26-2008, 01:16 AM dawsonsgirl - i like her tell it like it is attitude and enjoy her thoughts on all the "controversial" posts. i think if we met in real life we'd be friends. we like a lot of the same shows andsharea lot of thesame opinions. Believe it or not, I'm pretty shy. That I have been on here as long as I have is a true testamment to the people on here. i agree phoebe. i used to post on imdb but the members there have all but ruined those boards. i noticed a lot of the boards i used to frequent have been dead lately and i think its because of how immature and hostile the members there can be. every other board is littered with idiotic posts that consist of questions like "is so and so gay?" or "this movie/show is racist" or "so and so is ugly/fat etc". and then they sit there and ask why no one posts?! and forget having your own opinion on anything. the language they use is very obscene and offensive and believe me i'm no prude. its too bad because a few boards i liked one being the miracle on 34th street forum but of course someone had to call john payne and edmund gwenn gay for sharing a bedroom in the movie and implied something was going on between the characters of john payne and natalie wood when hes alone with her in his apartment watching the parade!! dawsongirl 07-26-2008, 01:23 AM i agree phoebe. i used to post on imdb but the members there have all but ruined those boards. i noticed a lot of the boards i used to frequent have been dead lately and i think its because of how immature and hostile the members there can be. every other board is littered with idiotic posts that consist of questions like "is so and so gay?" or "this movie/show is racist" or "so and so is ugly/fat etc". and then they sit there and ask why no one posts?! and forget having your own opinion on anything. the language they use is very obscene and offensive and believe me i'm no prude. its too bad because a few boards i liked one being the miracle on 34th street forum but of course someone had to call john payne and edmund gwenn gay for sharing a bedroom in the movie and implied something was going on between the characters of john payne and natalie wood when hes alone with her in his apartment watching the parade!! I don't know you guys as well as you all know each other here, but to answer the question honestly, I don't know what I'd have done without FactsFan this past month. We've become extremely close, and I feel like I've become friends with Crazy for Blair and BruceWillisFan too. In terms of just random posts and stuff, though, excluding personal friendships, I really look forward to reading what Irene says a lot of the time....she's pretty funny and usually has some pretty smart things to say. I don't think I can offend anyone or hurt anybody's feelings, though, since I haven't been here very long and I haven't had a chance to get to know EVERYBODY here yet. I'm sure I will. :) PZelda 07-26-2008, 10:43 AM Well, if you can't rely on the great people here at SO, who can you rely on(well, except maybe your family), but to some, here at SO, we are a family. Amen to that! There are many other boards that are still around that I'm still a member at - but I haven't visited these boards regularly in years. *THIS* one, I've been a regular visitor the whole time I've been here. Just had my 6-year anniversary -- doesn't seem like it's been that long! I can think of one message board that I've been at for 8 1/2 years and another one I've been at for almost 10 years... but again, I haven't posted at them in so long. This chick isn't going anywhere soon. :) howierules86 07-26-2008, 10:53 AM Of all the message boards I post (or have posted in the past) at, this is actually the one I have the most number of posts at myself, because a lot of you have been very friendly to me here. Chocoholic 07-26-2008, 03:08 PM I really don't have a favorite. I like almost everybody here. You people are all so caring, fun, and respectful. Like someone else said, I've been to other message boards in the past and the nasty attitudes that some people had, especially towards those they didn't agree with, was really sad. This is a really nice place to come to. LoveMrsG 07-26-2008, 06:56 PM Thank you. :) I'm glad that you are a member here. You bring some much needed energy to the FOL board. The last six months or so it was really starting to slow down there. How nice to be appreciated!!! Thanks so much, Mike! :) I think I'll be leaving SO soon though. I made the mistake, the very HUGE mistake, of trying to make a joke on The Jeffersons board and somebody there (I WON'T name names) just totally insulted me. Half the time I feel like I'm on the verge of hanging myself because of Dad's death anyway and crap like that is the LAST thing on this earth I need right now. I came to SO hoping to make friends and have good conversation, not be put down in one of the worst times of my life which this definitely is for me. I totally agree with a lot of the people in The Complaint Department...the dumbest thing on this earth you can do is try to make friends. Maybe that's why God took the last of my family...in His wisdom He knew better than leave me behind with another human! Nighthawk76 07-26-2008, 08:40 PM How nice to be appreciated!!! There are more than 1,000 members here at Sitcoms Online (even though 80% don't really post) and sometimes an issue or problem can develop between members. There have been people here that I've had problems with at some point in the five years I've been here. And there, of course, have been a few people who have had a problem with me over something I've said or done. I consider myself a nice person, but when I get angry I gan be really nastly and just slash out. And I've done that to a few people here. I wish I hadn't, but I'm only human and far from perfect. You can ask Kelly about a fight her and I had over a year ago. It got really ugly between us. However, eventually we patched things up. I know you are going through a difficult time right now. I can't even begin to imagine what you are dealing with. However, it is important to never give up on others. :bighug: dawsongirl 07-26-2008, 08:49 PM I agree with Mike. There are a lot of people here who get really bold with what they say simply because they are completely annoymous behind a computer. They think they can say whatever rancid or stupid thing they want and who cares; they don't know you, and you don't know them. I used to moderate a board here and I ran into them too much. Whoever it is that insulted you doesn't know you. And they're probably the type with their head stuck so far up their ass that they can't take a joke. It's too hard to tell how something is being said over the internet to assume anything. What was a joke to you could have been conveyed as a joke to that person if you'd been face-to-face, but over the internet, people too often take things the wrong way, and then because of that annoymity, they go overboard with rage. Long story short (too late! lol), don't let one stick in the mud drive you away. There really are many nice people here who have your back. I've felt like leaving I don't know how many times over just about everything, but I'm still here because of the small amount of people who are my friends, or are nice to me. Plus, I can admit to liking dorky TV shows and no one thinks I'm lame because they like them too. :) LoveMrsG 07-26-2008, 08:51 PM You should reconsider leaving. I'm really lonely and I'm not that good at getting out and meeting people so I'm trying to make friends online to keep from going insane until college starts back for me. I have been a member of this board since 2003; and there were many of times, where I felt like walking away, forever; but, I stuck around. I consider some of the members of this site to be a second family; of course, I have had my share of fights, where someone insulted me, or I said something stupid; it is just a fact of life. I agree what both Mike and Cathy have mentioned, there are some people, who hide behind a computer screen to act a certain way, where in reality, they could never be that bold to another person; so, please consider the source, and do not take it personally..(yeah, I know, easier said, than done); but, there are a lot of good people on this board, who are caring and just, wonderful human beings in general. I highly recommend that you stick around, trust me, you will not be disappointed; and another thing, if another member gives you any problems, you can always report them to a moderator, or send the same member a private message... dawsongirl 07-26-2008, 09:08 PM Thanks, dawsongirl. I hope I don't live a long life, like to age 75 or something...I hope it's more like a sudden anneurysm burst at age 30...I don't want to wait another 50 years to see my dad again. :( And meeting that "special someone" whether through eharmony or in person has been impossible for me no matter how hard I've tried. People can go on and on, "You're young. You've got your whole life ahead of you..." blah, blah, blah, but the rest of it's downhill for me. I had the best with my dad. You're right, Hollywood Rock Chic. Sorry...I accidentally skipped over your message the last time I was checking this thread out. What everybody's saying is true, that I shouldn't let one inconsiderate jerk ruin this whole place for me. Like I've been saying, I'm just really sensitive right now and going online today and finding that post probably hit me an awful lot harder than it would have ordinarily. I know that out of the 6 billion people or so on the planet, there's going to be more than our fair share of arses out there and I need to let stuff roll off my back sometimes. It just makes me so mad because I wasn't rude in my post at all and this person had no reason to be so crappy to me. Anyway, I'm hugging my dogs for the fourth time! LOL Thanks for the encouragement. :) Jude The Obscure 07-26-2008, 10:20 PM LovesMrsG--please, please, please don't leave!! I love your refreshing "Breath of fresh air" viewpoints on the FOL board. LoveMrsG 07-26-2008, 10:42 PM LovesMrsG--please, please, please don't leave!! I love your refreshing "Breath of fresh air" viewpoints on the FOL board. I know very well depression's kick you in the teeth and slap you in the face and punch you in the gut times! here's to you!  Back at ya, Jude! :) Thanks...I didn't know my simple yacking on the FOL board meant THAT much! And you're right...depression does kick you in the teeth and slap you in the face and punch you in the gut at times. But what you and Mike have said has really helped today, along with everybody else. Thanks!!! :) I'm still a little mad though...I guess I need to hug my dogs again! LOL LoveMrsG 07-26-2008, 10:44 PM LoveMrsG-I hope you have seen how important you are to people here at SO. No one wants you to leave!!! I would miss you. Who would tease me about my Days/FOL crossover??? Anyway, I hope you are feeling better soon. You know you can PM me anytime. Thanks to all of you guys, I am feeling better. It was just kind of a kick in the rear a little bit, reading that post...I hadn't done anything to this guy. I didn't give him any reason to cut me down the way he did. I guess you guys are right...consider the source. Jude The Obscure 07-26-2008, 10:51 PM I have been in those shoes too. Come here and find a post that seemed like a vicious attack. Let the steam out, roll with the punches, let the water drip off your back and come back with a smile! Nothing gets to another person who enjoys hurting others like seeing the insults bouncing off like a duck takes to water! Listen to me, kiddo.....I've been through H*** and back and I'm still here. :D LoveMrsG 07-26-2008, 10:57 PM I have been in those shoes too. Listen to me, kiddo.....I've been through H*** and back and I'm still here. :D I'll listen to you, Jude. I'll just be glad when this depressing era of my life is OVER! I feel like I'm trapped underneath a big boulder or something and I can't get out from underneath it no matter how hard I try. Tell me something...does it REALLY ever get better? After the past seven or eight months or so, I'm far from convinced. Jude The Obscure 07-26-2008, 11:05 PM Honey--I can't tell you when the sunshine breaks through or when the clouds fade away, but do know YOU CAN AND WILL SEE THE LIGHT! I have been through so much since the year 2000.....so many family deaths, the death of a friend in Iraq, job issues, heath issues, and as you see in my avatar, losing my brother. And if I can tell you that, you know it is true! Nighthawk76 07-27-2008, 03:33 PM And they're probably the type with their head stuck so far up their ass that they can't take a joke. How can anyone not love this girl with insights like this? Nighthawk76 07-27-2008, 03:34 PM Honey--I can't tell you when the sunshine breaks through or when the clouds fade away, but do know YOU CAN AND WILL SEE THE LIGHT! I've gone through a number of periods of depression in my life so in regards to that I can understand where you are coming from. I got so depressed in 1999 that I ended up in the emergency room twice. I've talked about that a few times here. In 2005 I also went through a period of depression that caused some major problems with me and other members of this board who were friends of mine because in my depressed state I was acting like a total jerk. However, as bad as I flet, eventaully the depression went away. Now, I'm actually the happiest I've ever been in my entire life. I think going back to college will be of a big help to you. If you find yourself in classes that you really like, it will help take your mind off of some of your problems. It was actually a college history course that I took in '99 that helped bring me out of my depressioin. The course and the instructor changed my life. I think my best advice in dealing with depression is that it takes hard work to get over it. You just can't sit around and hope that you will get better. You have to work on getting better. I think school will help you a lot. I'll be 32 in a little more than a week, and from experience I can tell you the older you get the easier you are able to deal with issues that pop up. I think the older you get you are able to take cartain things with a grain of salt that you may not have been able to do at a younger age. I am able to handle things better than I was when I was in my 20's and as I get older I think I will get better at it. There are still certain areas of my life that need work. For example, I tend to be a little needy at times. This can scare people away. However, I'm working on it and I know I'll get beyond this problem at some point. dawsongirl 07-27-2008, 06:43 PM  How can anyone not love this girl with insights like this?  catlover79 07-28-2008, 04:11 PM  Cathy, I don't think everyone here nows how beautiful and amazingly funny women born in 1979 can be. ;)  phoebe7165 07-28-2008, 08:58 PM Great post. :) Thanks, Mike, I really appreciate that!! Janice 07-28-2008, 10:17 PM I've found that however a person feels about me, the feeling is usually mutual on my end. That applies to offline life as well. It's certainly not hard to figure out who likes a person, or not. With that said, my favorite people here are the ones who I'm in contact with off the board, on a regular basis. That would be Brian D. (surprise, surprise), Sonny (ClintEastwoodFan), Jenny (FamilyTiesForever!), and Cathie (TripperFan). catlover79 07-28-2008, 11:24 PM I do. I think you're very sweet. Thank you so much - same to you. :D Hollow 07-29-2008, 12:20 AM I really don't have a favorite. I like almost everybody here. You people are all so caring, fun, and respectful. Like someone else said, I've been to other message boards in the past and the nasty attitudes that some people had, especially towards those they didn't agree with, was really sad. This is a really nice place to come to. i agree. i think this is the only message board i've seen that has zero tolerance for personal attacks and general rudeness. catlover79 07-29-2008, 12:24 AM i agree. i think this is the only message board i've seen that has zero tolerance for personal attacks and general rudeness. SO is a rare breed, for sure. A LOT of moderators/webmasters could learn from Janice, TJ, Seth... catlover79 07-29-2008, 12:26 AM ok, i like you all but i'm particularly fond of ireneparalegal - she's very wise and sensible and opinionated (which i enjoy) and always supportive of everyone. her words are always comforting to me. i kind of see her as the mother hen of the board catlover - she's so sweet and always with a kind word that never fails to cheer me up. she always make a special effort to reply to a post of mine (as i'm semi new and sometimes feel like i'm on the sidelines) and i like sharing jokes with her. dawsonsgirl - i like her tell it like it is attitude and enjoy her thoughts on all the "controversial" posts. i think if we met in real life we'd be friends. we like a lot of the same shows andsharea lot of thesame opinions. classicpinup - a doll. always so sweet and kind. his posts always make me feel hopeful i know i'm forgetting so many! like i said i love everyone, the people named are members i interact with the most Thank you, Kimberlee, for your nice words and the recent PM. Hang in there! :D dawsongirl 07-29-2008, 07:57 PM I think you're so sweet, too. awww...thanks! :D Janice 07-29-2008, 08:35 PM i agree. i think this is the only message board i've seen that has zero tolerance for personal attacks and general rudeness. We aim to please. :) There are still a few who enjoy taunting others, particulary those who like to bully newbies, which strikes me as particulaly cowardly. Lee 07-29-2008, 09:39 PM Janice, what do you think of me? Janice 07-29-2008, 09:55 PM Janice, what do you think of me? I think you're a real nice guy with an inquistive mind. I like everyone I've met here! I will say that Ireneparalegal, Chocolate Moose, Solomon, FamilyTiesForever, and 88Survivor have been kind enough to send me PM's on occasion, which I really appreciate! Plus there are several members that frequent the sections that I do, so I've gotten to know them a little better than others. In any case, I absolutely love it here!:eyes: Andrea PS: I've noticed that I'm the only one who signs my name to the bottom of my posts. Not trying to get special attention. It's just a habit. I do that on every board I post on! *Pleasant Tomorrow* 07-31-2008, 12:48 PM  i thot eye was ur fav? :crying:   ohno:  And EmoJoe I guess  [-Kelsey-] 07-31-2008, 02:30 PM you GUESS? more like you have a picture of my hanging on your wall and stare at it every day. :happyface  THATS A SECRET SHHH. :o EmoJoe 07-31-2008, 04:23 PM And EmoJoe I guess  you know you love me, *Pleasant Tomorrow*. :D EmoJoe 07-31-2008, 04:23 PM '] THATS A SECRET SHHH. :o not anymore! Abbie 08-03-2008, 04:19 AM I can't say I have a favorite because I haven't been a member that long. I like pretty much every member on here though- like previously stated, it's great to come on here after a bad/hard day and just talk to ethical, interesting and nice people. That goes for the moderators too- TJ for creating the site, Janice and everybody else. |
