View Full Version : Alf Replacing WWE Smackdown Rumors MikeLutton 07-09-2008, 07:36 PM hey did u all hear wgn might replae wwe smakdown with Alf reruns im glad i dont like sd anyway Alf be back on regulrey anyone else hear this Pavan 07-09-2008, 07:59 PM Mike, you need to start reading the whole text rather than just a portion of something. This is how bad rumors start. WWE Smackdown doesn't even air on WGN except in Chicago! And the poster who posted about Smackdown was talking about this Friday that the local WGN in Chicago was airing ALF instead of Smackdown. Local WGN in Chicago did not get the 80s week marathon except for Friday. Scoobiedoo30 07-09-2008, 09:43 PM well I went to www.wgntv.com and they have ALF scheduled from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm Central Time on Friday, July 11, 2008. Pavan 07-09-2008, 10:10 PM Didn't I just say that Aaron? Scoobiedoo30 07-09-2008, 10:26 PM It did not sound like to me but I was wondering what do you mean by Text Jude The Obscure 07-09-2008, 10:41 PM text means the whole paragraph of what was written, Aaron. Pav was stating that Mike did not read the whole paragraph and jumped to the conclusion that reruns of ALF were replacing WWE Smackdown. Hope that explains it :) Scoobiedoo30 07-09-2008, 10:46 PM thanks for the help Jude86 MikeLutton 07-09-2008, 11:03 PM i dont mean start a war here actually it all over wwe news sites i now sd dont air on wgn guess it only in chicago i got link where i got this be good have alf on fridays for 2 hours i know it be on this friday during 80s week The WGN affiliate out of Chicago, the third largest market in the country, is thinking about pulling Smackdown from their line-up and replacing it with "Alf" reruns. This is apparently not confirmed, but it would be a huge loss for the WWE if another station in the market doesn't pick up the show. http://wrestlezone.com/article.php?articleid=217644594 MikeLutton 07-09-2008, 11:06 PM anywya just trying to help giving out some info wish i can text got no cell anyway i dont mean no harm at all Pavan 07-09-2008, 11:22 PM Mike that's only in Chicago and only this Friday. Chicago didn't air 80s week like WGN national did, just ALF for Friday. MikeLutton 07-09-2008, 11:24 PM oh ok that must been what i was with confused with thanks for your help n clearing that up god chicago gets alll good stuff Ireneparalegal 07-10-2008, 12:12 AM I read that text pretty quick and considering the font size is kinda small, I missed where it said CHICAGO. It happens Mike, that is why you have all of us here to help you out. TKMetal 07-10-2008, 05:20 AM Here's what Dave Meltzer said in the Wrestling Observer newsletter... Bad news for the show for the next few months is that WGN in Chicago has talked of pulling the lame duck show from its schedule and replacing it with reruns of “Alf.” If another station in the market doesn’t pick it up, the loss of the show in the market, the third biggest in the country, is huge. For those that don't know, Wrestling Observer is basically THE trade newsletter for the pro wrestling business. Scoobiedoo30 07-10-2008, 10:54 AM I am just glad that People in Chicago are going to get to watch ALF TKMetal 07-10-2008, 02:49 PM Smackdown looks to be gone from WGN9, but ALF will only run this Friday. There will be a ball game on 7/18, "The Terminator" on 7/25 and "The Golden Eye" on 8/1 with more movies running every following Friday. bluthree 07-12-2008, 10:52 AM For those that watched The Alf Marathon last night was there any scenes in the episodes that was not on the edited DVD sets? I know when Nick At Night aired episodes of ALF there was scenes in some of the episodes that was not on the DVD's. Such as a scene from Pennsylvania 6-5000 that was not on the DVD but made it on the Nick airing. MikeLutton 07-12-2008, 11:07 AM what scene was that that was cut out bluthree 07-12-2008, 01:34 PM what scene was that that was cut out After ALF took off to the garage Brain asked his dad why he always got so mad with Alf,and Willie replyed you will find out out someday when you have an alien of you're own. That scene was not on the DVD version but was on The Nick version. Scoobiedoo30 07-13-2008, 12:19 PM maybe Smackdown already moved to My50 in Chicago TKMetal 07-13-2008, 10:58 PM Smackdown is not leaving WGN9. Apparently, some people don't realize there's two different WGN. Scoobiedoo30 07-14-2008, 01:13 PM I wonder why WGN-CW9 did not air WWE Smackdown at 11:30 pm on a Delay Broadcast on Friday, July 10, 2008. |
