Things are moving a lot faster with our home loan. Although we were approved there are some catches. Tomorrow is our house appraisal and the stipulation is our house has to be worth a certain amount. Although we feel that our house normally would be worth that set amount, because of the economy and crumbling housing market, housing values have dropped signifigantly. We've been cleaning like crazy today to get the house in tip top shape.

Then we have to show my husbands w-2 forms and recent pay stubs. Thats a problem! Although we have the w-2 forms we have no recent pay stubs as my husband hasn't worked since April. I'm not sure how we're going to get around that and fear we will lose the loan! i'm so scared. although were married my name isn't on the house because he was married before me and he never ammended the title. so my own pay doesn't count unless i put my name on the house and we can't do that because i had debts before marrying and they would likely attach the house because of it. i

i pray things will work out but i'm so scared. i'm praying like crazy!!!

It's real tough now to get a home loan because of the economy. I hope it all works out for you and your hubby. :)

Praying that everything goes okay.

Depending on which state you are in there is a way that you can get onto the home title without being on the home loan itself.

My husband had his house before we married. He owned it with his ex-wife. They divorced and she signed a quit claim deed. Well, when we married he went to the courthouse and filled out another quit claim deed.

If something was to have happened and God forbid my husband passed away before me, I would be protected legally and the state couldn't come in and place the house in probate.

Either way, I would strongly recommend having your husband add you to the title of your house. Again, it doesn't effect the home loan, just the title itself. Because hubby and I are both on the title of our new house, but his name is the only one on the mortgage.

Hope everything goes well!!!
