I bought the series on DVD and had a chance last night to watch some episodes.

The first episode, we see a different house than the one we see throughout the series. You can see the Pacific Ocean in the background (fake background that is ) from the Lawrence living room.

Gidget's sister has brunette hair. We see she becomes a blonde by the second episode.

Gidget's bed goes from a four poster bed to a regular bed by episode two. Her phone also goes from pink to white (or eggshell).

In the first episode, when Gidget is on the phone with Larue, you will see a close-up of Gidget's feet. You can clearly see a large callous on her left foot.

In the second episode when Gidget and her father are eating in the kitchen, she asks for syrup and he asks for ketchup. However, they each hold on to the bottles and start to pour each item on their foods. Gidget has ice cream with strawberries and begins to pour the ketchup on it. From the one shot, you see her doing this on a pile of ice cream. When the camera gets an up-close shot, the ice cream is not so high.

In the second episode abt the Luau and Gidget taking Jeff as her "date" there is a quick scene of the luau. Is that a scene from the original GIDGET movie? It looks like it.

heheheeeeeee! Hey Irene, when you get the chance--actually watch the pilot and compare it to the first episode!!

The house Gidget uses as a regular abode also was the Hazel house and the house first used by Frank and Phyllis Stephens on Bewitched.

I am really getting into this show. I am trying to catch so many things I never noticed before in syndication, a la pause button. ;)

No they didn't. Sally Field should have at least griped abt showing her feet.

I also noticed in the second episode, we see that famous actress from the movie COOL HAND LUKE. Well, she was known more for those torpedos she had. Remember the blonde washing the car in COOL HAND LUKE? There she was in the second episode causing Gidget's sister to worry abt Jeff.

another thing I felt was provocative (still do) is Gidget's diary entry of "sinking into nothingness" and having her father think that she uh........you know! Rather shocking for a '60s sitcom!

I know huh? At least I think so. I was also LOL at the friend of Gidget's in the second episode abt the luau. Her nickname was TREASURE. Her last name was "Chest"... They should have called the blonde friend that instead since her boobs were much bigger.

Let me add, in the first episode, Gidget not only had the four poster bed, but it appeared to be a full size bed. By the second episode there were two twin size beds in her room. It was stated by Gidget and her dad that her older sister had her own room, so obviously that extra twin bed was not Ann's.

Theo also had two twin beds in his room on the Cosby show.......uh, why??????

I remember that question being asked. Let me say, my older brother had twin beds in his room. I have no idea why.  They could be made into bunk beds or separated into the two beds he had.

I forgot to ask this abt the second episode.

During the scene where Ann's husband is dressed up ready to go to the Luau with Gidget while still in the house, a dim red line (going up and down) appeared for a moment and then disappeared. I thought maybe the disc was dirty or the player was, so I cleaned both. The line still appeared. It lasted abt 7 seconds. Did this occur to anyone else who has the DVD?
