It's just a joke. She refers to herself as a D-list celebrity.
I have seen the show several times, and I think it's really funny!!
Basically in her stand up, it seems like she just wants to tick everyone off!!!

She has her share of fans, but America does not love Kathy Griffin. I know 10 people who can't stand her, and that's without giving it any thought.

Well perhaps I was a bit over zealous in my declaration of "America Loves Kathy Griffin" but I sure do! :)

^ That's quite a house! I've seen the inside on her show a few times. I personally wouldn't like all that glass, because I'm a scaredy cat, lol. That's great you got to see it. Kathy's a hot ticket.

Thanks and no, didn't get to meet her. I have been to several of her concerts, i'm sure me being a "Z" lister (or might we say "G" lister) will never get to meet her in person.... never know tho.

Wow Richie, you're practically famous! How the heck does she afford that huge house though? I know she was on Brooke Sheild's old show but that house looks really expensive.

Yeah, I know a bunch of people that can't stand her either. I'm kind of neutral. I can take her or leave her.

I'm sure she gets some residuals from the show she was on with Brooke Shields plus she does tons of concerts and other gigs... I don't think she is super rich but she has a little cash! :-)

Anyone see the episode the other night when Kathy did an overhaul on the library of a mexican school? At first I thought it might turn out kind of bad with the publicity stunt thing and all but it actually turned out great and they did a really good thing for those kids and the school!

She's definetly misunderstood!!! But she's really funny!!! She doesn't care about what anyone thinks, and just does her thing!!

She's fricken hilarious. People need to lighten up and take a joke.

It's not a case of misunderstanding or not getting her humor. What's not to get, her jokes? Her humor is simple, not overly topical, or cerebral such as Dennis Miller's. She's certainly not an intellectual. I think she can be funny sometimes, but I don't care for her type of sarcastic humor. I wasn't a fan of Don Rickles or Joan Rivers. My brother's a big fan, and he's brought DVDs of her over my house to watch. I understood it all, but it's just not for me. I felt bad for her when she talked about her divorce.

I totally agree, the woman is hilariously funny.

I love her, although I don't get to watch her show very much because I'm out of town alot(and I don't record shows). I've seen her once live, loved it, and I'm seeing her again in Sept. I can understand how she is hard to take, she is very blunt, but that's what I love about her is she doesn't hold back.

I think people sometimes are just a little more conservative when it comes to humor. There are some people that get really offended by (for instance) religion jokes. She crosses the line so many times but that's what makes her so flippin funny!!!

I see on another post that they have renewed Kathy for a 5th season!!!!! yeah!!

YEAH for Season 5. Hopefully it will be for another 10 episodes.
Also suppose to be 2 more stand-up Bravo specials as well.

BTW - All of her Bravo "My Life.." shows and Stand-ups were recently
added back to iTunes for download. Very happy to get them all.
