View Full Version : I am ending the 'Back To You' Campaign
Brian Damage 07-04-2008, 11:42 AM In the recent light of events, I have made the decision to drop the "Save Back to You" campaign. It wasn't an easy decision for me, but I believe I was the victim of a vicious host by someone we are all familiar with. I won't mention any names, (so don't ask) but their intention was to make a mockery of our campaign and all the hard work we put into it.
I will still be updating this forum with news about the cast and their whereabouts when it becomes available.
As for the hoaxer in question, I know who you are, and Lord forgive you if I ever "bump" into you. Laugh all you want, but remember, I am only a stone's throw away.
Thank you to all that were involved in the support of this campaign. It has been a blast. Julie, Sonia, Monika, Ryan and everyone else involved directly or indirectly. We accomplished a lot and for that, we should all feel proud. There were people who wanted to stand in our way, but overall, we did all that we could and made an impact.
You guys are the best!
Brian D.
Mr. Television 07-04-2008, 12:01 PM I'm sorry Brian. :( I know how much you wanted BTY to return. It was a great show. It was the only sitcom I watched regularly last season and I wouldn't have if it wasn't for you. FOX never gave it a chance. The strike really hurt that show more than most.
I'm sure the cast will be on other shows soon. They really are a talented bunch. :)

Thanks Sonny, here is what I know about the cast thus far...
Kelsey Grammer (Roman's Empire) on ABC
Patricia Heaton is shopping a talk show
Ty Burrell and Ayda Field (Untitled sitcom) on ABC
Josh Gad is making movies (Will co star in "The Rocker" with Rainn Wilson) coming this August.
HuntingtonM15 07-04-2008, 01:20 PM Sorry to hear about what happened. I had hopes of BTY possibly returning.
ryan423 07-04-2008, 01:49 PM Thank you Brian for a great campaign. Back to You was truely a fantastic show that never saw the day! Let's keep in touch;)
ryan423 07-04-2008, 02:37 PM Brian, I have redesigned the myspace page with a custom look explaining that we're ending the campaign.

catlover79 07-04-2008, 08:04 PM Brian, you and so many others here at SO put up one heck of a fight. You have nothing to be ashamed of!! I wish the cast and crew all the best as they continue to pursue their careers - and I know they've appreciated the efforts of everyone at SO.
jimpickens 07-04-2008, 10:07 PM Never watched the show but like Kelsey Grammers work it's a pity that FOX never gave it a chance. As for the strike allot of new shows suffered because of it oh well good luck in catching this saboteur.:happyface
PrettyinPink55 07-05-2008, 12:02 AM Awww! I know how hard you guys fought for BTY's 2nd season and I commend you all on your efforts! I know what it's like to fight for a show's renewal and then in the end not get it (American Dreams, Everwood). But I am sure the cast and crew all appreciate your efforts as well.
Sorry BTY didn't get to see a second season, but at least it got a great first!!!
Scoobiedoo30 07-05-2008, 10:57 AM I was really hoping that there was going to be a second season
You did a great job Brian, don't let anyone spoil it for you. I really thought we had a good chance at getting a second season.
Jude The Obscure 07-05-2008, 02:26 PM Indeed, Brian, you deserve this :bighug:
And I feel sorry for whoever is the one who deliberately deceived you--you reap what you sow (and remember a seed always produces more fruit than what it come from!)
JulieSomoski 07-06-2008, 06:57 PM Brian, we really did put up one hell of a fight. You did a great job - I can't thank you more for that. It's a shame what happened to you - hox or not, it shouldn't have happened in the first place. It's really too bad Back to You didn't get a second season (especially when we all thought it would), because I have never seen a show so fantastic, so talented, so greatly written in my life. I'm hoping FOX decides to give us the DVD next, because with what we've been through, we deserve it.

Ditto!

We all did our best! Not even the slightest regret, redardless of the latest developments.
Like I've said before, I have nothing but appreciation for you Brian and everyone else genuinely involved in this campaign and in this forum.
As far as the hoaxer goes....well see I would have named names so that everybody knows who he/she is...not to harass or attack, but just to be attentive to not fall for it again in case he/she decides to play another trick in the future. Just my opinion anyway
Have a great rest of the week Y'all!!!!!
Sonia 07-08-2008, 08:54 AM Thanks Sonny, here is what I know about the cast thus far...

Please God, let it be a nice scripted comedy or drama instead! Maybe this time on cable when they can push envelopes creatively and not be so dependable on auditel!!!

So Sorry that things did not work out and I am so sorry to hear about someone hoaxing you! But lately I have realized FOX is SO not a smart network. They are now ruining 'Til Death as well--they might as well cancel it! But it was fun to be a part of the Save Back To You campaign while it lasted! As others have said, I definitely don't regret any part I had in it. Thanks for your persistence!

First I heard she was going to do The Middle, a single camera comedy on ABC that originally had Ricki Lake as the role Patricia Heaton was asked to do, but now I hear she is in a Hallmark movie with Treat Williams? Does anyone know which one she is really doing, if either?

About The Middle, there is a cast contingency by ABC saying that they will give the show a pilot order if Patty joins the show. If not, it's a no-go!
There is no word on The Middle yet, but things will have to start developing soon. I assume their will be a story stating which way Patty goes.
