View Full Version : Deal or No Deal weekdays daytime this fall?
PunkyP0WER 07-04-2008, 06:03 AM Last night I saw a commercial on our nbc channel that was advertising deal or no deal at 4pm weekdays this fall. not sure if it going to be a network program or local syndicate deal. the shows are advertised as being a 1/2 hour but i'm not sure if they'e brand new shows or possibly old episodes chopped up. howie mandell was in the ads so its safe to assume he will host this version as well. it looks like its going to replace ellen at 4pm. anyone know anything about this?
Jude The Obscure 07-04-2008, 04:43 PM It will be new half-hour episodes with Howie Mandell--syndicated, not on NBC Daytime.
I'm sure this will help kill DoND primetime for sure--overexposure.
The Great One 07-04-2008, 05:16 PM It doesn't sound like a good idea for DoND to do Daytime.
PunkyP0WER 07-07-2008, 11:19 AM i think you're right jude. i won't be watching anyway. i flip over to judge judy at 4pm and i'm not a deal or no deal fan anyway.
Jude The Obscure 07-07-2008, 11:25 AM oh no--not judge judy!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
NASHMAN 07-08-2008, 04:28 PM You probably will be watching DOND on WNBC 4 in NYC. In my area KTXL will carry DOND in the timeslot replaced by Steve Wilkos.
Scoobiedoo30 07-08-2008, 04:49 PM I wonder if Deal or No Deal will air on WGNO since they air Game's Show's from 9:00 am until 10:00 am Central Time

Yeah, WGNO's been airing promos for DOND.
I don't see this working at all. When you've watched the show once, you've watched it a million times. Every single game is the same, the only difference is whatever gimmick they try to throw out there.
Scoobiedoo30 07-10-2008, 11:15 AM did WGNO happen to say what Time Deal or No Deal would be airing on WGNO
NASHMAN 07-10-2008, 11:39 AM Yeah, WGNO's been airing promos for DOND.

Yeah, DOND isn't going to work well as a syndie show, look what happened to syndie Weakest Link in 2002, it instantly killed the network version and only lasted 18 months. I see the same run happening with DOND.
Scoobiedoo30 07-10-2008, 11:47 AM is Deal or no Deal going to be 1 Hour or 30 Mintues
NASHMAN 07-10-2008, 11:51 AM It will be the 1/2 hour version. The show will have the top prize of $500,000 and will only have 22 cases and three models, the rest are the layover contestants.
Jude The Obscure 07-10-2008, 12:40 PM Like I said in another post, DoND is essentially the bonus game to what should be another type of trivia/quiz show.
LeeBlue 07-12-2008, 04:28 PM DOND just had a big contest where viewers voted for the next DOND model -- for the daytime version?? -- or will there still be a primetime DONO with the million dollar prize??

That is for the primetime network version. The top prize on the Network version will still be the same, but the syndicated version will be cut in half.
LeeBlue 07-12-2008, 10:55 PM Thanks for clearing that up for me!
Scoobiedoo30 07-13-2008, 12:51 PM is there a website where we can fine out where The First run episodes are going to air
InspectorExstead 08-06-2008, 02:21 AM showing it earlier in the day is a good plus. it was on at 8 pm last year, but i would always be watching something else.
that sucks that the million dollars is not going to be there anymore and that it's only going to be 30 minutes though.
Jude The Obscure 08-07-2008, 07:28 PM Will be airing on my ABC affiliate at 11am (central) weekdays--Jepoardy's current slot, so I wonder if Jep is moving to 11:30am (where paid programming currently airs).
