View Full Version : Do you like Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kreme?
DLevine2 07-03-2008, 10:12 AM I like them both. Especially Dunkin' Donuts which my dad gets me a muffin at Dunkin' Donuts and during the holidays I might get me a gingerbread donut and during the Fall I might get me a pumpkin donut or pumpkin muffin. Because my father like his coffee from DD. I also like Krispy Kreme to.
catlover79 07-03-2008, 11:34 AM I'm not that big on donuts, but I'll have to choose DD.
BarneyFife 07-03-2008, 11:41 AM I like Krispy Kreme better. It's kinda like a family donut to my family. I remember my parents bringing home a dozen or two of fresh hot KK donuts every week or two when i was a kid. To be honest, i haven't eaten Dunkin Donuts but once or twice. We don't have many locations here where i live.
phoebe7165 07-03-2008, 12:39 PM I happen to like both, but KK has the warm glazed donuts, which are heavenly!!!:liplick::rock: When I see that red light on, that's it!!
KissMyGrits 07-03-2008, 12:43 PM Unfortunately up here in Alabama they don't have Dunkin Donuts. However, when I lived in Florida there was a Krispy Kreme and a Dunkin Donuts almost right next to each other. I would always stop and grab some Munchkins and a mixed dozen doughnuts before I went to work. I really miss them...

Oh man, in the New England area, you see DD everywhere!! They must be based out of NE. You'll drive, see one, then not even a mile down the road there's another one. And you know what, their drive-thrus are ALWAYS busy.
PunkyP0WER 07-03-2008, 12:58 PM they closed one of the only krispy kremes in my state but i was not a fan the few times i did go. their donuts are TOO sweet. instant diabetes.
i like dunkin donuts, they are affordable, they're coffee is classic and i like their donut variety, especially the munchkins. they also give a lot of free stuff away like iced coffees and such.

you see them all over here in the NYC area too, tons of them on the highway, in supermarkets, in gas stations...EVERYWHERE.
anyway, i used to love Krispy Kreme, but i havent had them in a really long time. so ill say i like both. i love Dunkin Donuts too, they have good donuts and their drinks are really good.
robyrob 07-03-2008, 01:28 PM Tim Horton's, don't like those other two.
Tweety 07-03-2008, 04:06 PM I'd go with Krispy Kreme
My personal favorites are the glazed creme filled (the white creme, not the yellow bavarian pudding-like stuff).
Brieannas21 07-03-2008, 04:27 PM I like both, a donut taste like a donut to me, no matter who made it.
LuLu Rogers 07-03-2008, 06:25 PM Krispy Kreme. We don't have DD here.
PrettyinPink55 07-03-2008, 07:46 PM Krispy Kreme!!!!
dawsongirl 07-03-2008, 09:34 PM We don't have any DD, and KK is too surgery to eat too often, so I vote local bakery.
catlover79 07-03-2008, 09:51 PM I remember in the days before product placement, sitcoms would have generic food items. Luther from Coach was carring a donut box that said "Donuts Donuts". You could tell by the insignia on the box it was supposed to be Dunkin Donuts. I wish shows would do that again instead of shilling a million brands per episode.
dawsongirl 07-03-2008, 09:58 PM  Stuff like that is funny. Some of the pop I remember being an obvious Coke or Pepsi on some shows.
Number 9 Dream 07-03-2008, 10:48 PM Dunkin' Donuts, for sure! I love their honey bran raisin muffins  Their donuts are really good too (I like Toasted Coconut or Jelly). Krispy Kreme is just too rich for me....I always feel sick after I eat one of their doughnuts :(

I'm with you on this one, Kristel. Dunkin' Donuts is way better.
InspectorExstead 07-03-2008, 11:36 PM i go for dunkin donuts.
unfortunately, the last time i had some was three years ago when i was in nyc. there are no dunkin donuts near me! =(
krispy kreme's donuts are just way too sweet for my taste.
Czas na Zywiec 07-04-2008, 12:34 AM I haven't been to either in years, but I far prefer DD to Krispy Kreme. Krispy Kreme is like liquid sugar. Disgusting.
OH Nuts! 07-04-2008, 12:50 AM Krispy Kremes are heavenly. But no more for me. Eating Krispy Kremes would definitely put me on the fast track for Type 2 Diabetes, as I'm borderline. However I do have my memories!!! And Thank God, do not have a bad sweet tooth.
As for DDs they're OK but Krispy Kremes rock!
I like all donuts, I don't discriminate.
DLevine2 07-04-2008, 10:05 AM I like all donuts, I don't discriminate.
I like all donuts too. Especially pumpkin donuts in the Fall at DD and KK. I don't discriminate either.
OH Nuts! 07-04-2008, 04:49 PM I like all donuts too. Especially pumpkin donuts in the Fall at DD and KK. I don't discriminate either.
All donuts are good but Krispy Kremes are in a world of their own IMHO. They melt in your mouth!
The Great One 07-04-2008, 09:02 PM I use to eat Dunkin Donuts when I was a kid but I have never tried Krispy Kremes so I don't know how good they are.
catlover79 07-04-2008, 09:04 PM Every Friday my team at work always chips in for donuts at a local shop called Spudnuts - which is just down the street from our office building. They have very good donuts and very fair prices!! :D
OH Nuts! 07-04-2008, 11:52 PM I use to eat Dunkin Donuts when I was a kid but I have never tried Krispy Kremes so I don't know how good they are.
They are devine. Nothing like em - esp the glazed!!!!
JNSBSB 07-05-2008, 03:31 PM The state I live at (Texas), we mainly have ma and pa type donut shops!
I like Krispy Kreme donuts, but they only exist in the touristy areas of the major cities in Texas (only 6 KKs in all of Texas that I know of!)
But I go to cross into Louisiana, and Krispy Kremes are all over the place! (just about every town of 5000 or more in the Pelican State and other southern states vs only 2 or 3 per major city of 500,000 plus in Texas and points west and north!)
Too bad I haven't seen any Dunkan Donuts that was open in Texas in at least 5 years!
Zoneboy 07-05-2008, 03:51 PM This is just great, I'm craving KK's hot glazed or raspberry jelly filled donuts right now but my blood sugar will surely go into orbit because I can't stop at one. :(

I think it depends on where you live in TX. I've seen a lot of Dunkin Donuts, But you're right about Krispy Kreme.

Rats! Me too. But just like you I can't have em.

I have noticed at the grocery store where I do my shopping that the Krispy Kreme donuts that they sell are very expensive. About $8.00 for 1 Dozen! Are those the typical prices in the area where you live? I find it hard to believe that people would pay that much money.

It's worse in NYC - I think its $9. But just as well....Krispy Kremes and all other donuts are FOOD HEROIN for me....the LAST thing I need...I'm saving up my cals for home made ice cream

Wow! $9.00 for 1 dozen donuts. What happened to the good ol' days? I'll stick with my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!
Krispy Kreme donuts are my favorite but I very seldom buy them, too many calories.
catlover79 07-07-2008, 04:07 PM I've always had a fondness for Dunkin's chocolate Munchkins.
Nighthawk76 07-07-2008, 06:25 PM I've always had a fondness for Dunkin's chocolate Munchkins.
Those were good. :D

I love peanut butter & jelly too. But I'm not having any of the real stuff til I get down to my target weight - 17 more lbs to go. Right now I have Better N Peanut Butter - it has 85% less fat and 40% less cals than reg peanut butter. It also has a sweet taste to it - like peanut butter mixed with sugar - so I just have that alone on a high fiber English Muffin. Nowheres near as heavenly as a Krispy Kreme but still good - AND A WHOLE LOT more nutritious.
Yooch 07-07-2008, 10:12 PM Dunkin' Donuts, probably more for nostalgic reasons. The first time I ate at a Dunkin' donuts was when I was a kid, and my family was driving through Nebraska about 3 in the morning on the way to California. They had one in Lincoln and the fresh donuts and coffee made an indelible impression on my memory. It was really good!:D
catlover79 07-08-2008, 12:23 AM Those were good. :D
In fact, I wouldn't mind some chocolate Munchkins right about now!!
Nighthawk76 07-08-2008, 12:46 AM In fact, I wouldn't mind some chocolate Munchkins right about now!!
Now that you mention it, neither would I.
OH Nuts! 07-08-2008, 07:54 AM neither would I!!!! but I'm going to be good & not - they are soooooo bad for me
Corolla 07-09-2008, 11:35 PM I haven't tried Krispy Kreme, but Dunkin' Donuts is good.
hatwink 07-11-2008, 10:23 AM I like them both, but started off with Dunkin Donuts, and later grew to love Krispy Kreme.
OH Nuts! 07-11-2008, 10:44 AM All donuts, by dfn., are good and you could put 3 or 4 dozen in a trough and I would gobble them up. Oink! Oink! Oink! (Sorry folks, just one of my sicker food fantasies I just wanted to let go of). In real life were I to have a donut it would be 1/2 of a glazed Krispy Kreme with the other 1/2 given to a friend.

I love KK doughnuts. I like those hot glazed donuts at Krispy Kreme.;)
[-Kelsey-] 07-11-2008, 03:30 PM Tim Horton's, don't like those other two.
TIM HORTONS! :D
We don't have the other two here (Dunkin Donuts not in Canada but I heared Krispy Kreme was here once in my town but I don't know if it is still here in Canada)
Holly 07-11-2008, 03:33 PM I like Dunkin Donuts:p

Is Tim Horton's just a Canadian franchise?

Southern Maid <333333
icecream 07-15-2009, 07:43 PM Krispy Kreme :liplick:
comedyfreak 07-15-2009, 09:31 PM I like both and try not to eat either one. I don't think we have a dunkin donuts around here, we do a have Yum-Yum donuts.
Chocoholic 07-15-2009, 09:34 PM I actually prefer fresh-baked donuts from one of the few independently owned businesses in my area.
I do love DD coffee.
browneyes106 07-16-2009, 01:36 AM I like Krispy Kreme a little more than Dunkin Donuts. But the Krispy Kreme stores in my city are closing down. I don't mind Dunkin Donuts at all my coworkers and I go there on Friday mornings.
Schmoopie 07-16-2009, 03:07 AM I am not really a donut fan at all. I used to like Krispy Kreme because those were the only glazed donuts I could stand to eat. However, the last time I ate one it was so sweet, it was like pouring a jar of sugar into my mouth! Ugh! Now I don't think I could ever eat one again!
My husband is dying to go to this place in Portland (OR), called Voodoo Donuts. I swear, they have a Pepto Bismol flavored donut!! EWWWW!!!!

Sorry to get off-topic there!
Dude111 09-02-2022, 11:35 PM I used to LOVE Dunkin donuts but not so much anymore, thier stuff doesnt taste as good :(
Bonniegirl 09-03-2022, 12:47 AM Not that I eat donuts too much. They are OK, but not my junk food of choice! But not on the list. Winchell's are my favorite!:) Not sure if they are all over the country or just a West coast chain?
But I voted Dunkin Donuts over Krispy Kreme !!!;)

GentlemanJim 09-03-2022, 03:38 PM Dunkin Donuts would be okay, except that I have extreme contempt for their watered-down coffee....so I have this semi-official boycott of their products going on. If someone else buys them and brings them to work....I'll eat them.....but they'll never get another dime of my money.
So, I usually buy Entenmann's "Devils Food Crumb" type donuts at the grocery Or a glazed sour cream donut. Once in a while I'll go for a custard filled
BUT one oddity that I've grown quite fond of.....if you take Hostess vanilla Zingers, and eat them with a Hostess strawberry pie (together). it's like a junk food equivalent of strawberry shortcake
cpmaz 09-03-2022, 08:25 PM Of the two, prefer Dunkin, but given a real choice, I'd go with Bosa (which I think is located in AZ only)
Caroline13 09-05-2022, 11:06 PM If I were to break my years of staying away from this stuff, I'd probably do a Krispy Kreme.
Dude111 09-06-2022, 08:37 PM If I were to break my years of staying away from this stuff, I'd probably do a Krispy Kreme.
I dont think I have ever had Krispy.....
I dont think I have ever had Krispy.....
I've never had Krispy Kreme either.
AMackII 09-09-2022, 02:51 PM Both are better in my view
cpmaz 09-09-2022, 11:00 PM I dont think I have ever had Krispy.....
Go fishing and eat a sinker.
Be like having a Krispy Kreme. :)
Dude111 09-09-2022, 11:04 PM Hmmmmm thats what they taste like??
cpmaz 09-10-2022, 09:34 AM :)
Dude111 09-10-2022, 05:55 PM Ah man!!
Yong Fang 10-26-2022, 09:18 AM Oddly, as an obese person, I have never cared for donuts. I cant remember the last time I have even bought a donut or have been in a donut shop. The last time I vaguely remember being in one was in the mid 1980's when I was just out of high school with a friend (and maybe others). This was in Memphis and there is (supposedly) several excellent local donut shops. One is called Gibson's (this place might have been Gibson's). If I am somewhere and there is a box of donuts out and am invited to have one, sure. I dont hate them, but wont ever buy them.
One thing I dont like is corporations taking over (like Dunking Donuts or Krispy Kreme) and driving the local businesses out. Starbucks is another one for coffee, running out again the local businesses.
But yeah, if I am going to consume fat and calories, it will be something else besides a sticky piece of fried bread.
1960'sTVfan 10-26-2022, 12:37 PM It's been quite some time since I last had donuts from Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme. These days I buy donuts at the local grocery store, I usually shop there once a week.
