Duke Hathaway

He was in the episode where Wally had to find the blind date for Beverly Washburn(Blind Date Committee), and the one where Wally had to play a girl in the play(Wally's Play).

He's supposed to be the coolest guy in Mayfield High(at least that's the impression I got), but the guy playing Duke(and no offense to Tommy Ivo in any way)but he just didn't fit the part. At least in my experience of high school. Granted there's a big difference between the early 60's and the late 80's. But Tommy Ivo looked like the kind of guy who would be sitting with the rest of us at the table where all the D&D, audio/visual club members, smart kids sat. The only time you'd see him talking to the cute girls is if he was helping them with school work.

Dudley looked more cool than this guy.

I agree! LOL!

In all fairness, Tommy Ivo went on to become a race car driver, but he sure didn't look like Mr. Cool!

I guess that's why we can't judge a book by it's cover, Ivo may have been closer to his Duke character in real life than he looked.

I guess he was "the coolest" because of his athletic exploits.

LOL, I loved when the Duke came by the Cleaver's home in "Wally's Play"...

WARD: So, do you think Mayfield will have a good basketball team next season?
THE DUKE: Oh, I don't think so Mr. Cleaver...I'm graduating
