Was doing some "summer" cleaning in my closet--ya know, throw out old papers, donate unwanted books, etc. Ran across my copy and decide it is time for a re-read. I love that my copy is personally autographed by Herbie himself and inside still tucked away is the Christmas card he sent to me.
I actually bought this in the first edition The Bewitched Book, but later sold it to another BW fan in Canada, when this second edition was made available.

That is indeed a terrific book. My copy is sitting in my bookshelf right next to Dick York's book, The Seesaw Girl & Me. :D

Well, it'll be awhile before I can get to it.......my work hours at my job has now unexpectedly increased so spare time will be at a premium for me.

I Love the Illusion is an awesome read as well. Agnes Moorehead had an incredible film career as well as a terrific TV legacy. She truly was a "fabulous redhead"!! :D

yes indeed.....she was truly a LEGEND.

Gotta love "The Lavender Lady" :)

Too bad people couldn't appreciate Agnes for her film career before Bewitched. I wish they would release her movies on dvd, she was very underrated imo. I did like her character on Polyanna, she was funny playing a sickly cantankerous character.

^ Besides, who can forget her work in Citizen Kane and The Magnificent Ambersons? I also always enjoyed her as the voice of the Goose in Charlotte's Web (and Paul Lynde played the voice of Templeton!!). :D

Charlotte's Web and Pollyanna I own--and many reasons are because of Agnes!!

Both movies have several Bewitched connections as well.

I have never seen Citizen Kane or The Magnificent Ambersons.

Herbie J. Pilato, who wrote Bewitched Forever, is in the process of writing a biography about EM. That should be awesome. :D

Bewitched Forever is just a book about the making of the show, episode guide, cast interviews, etc. Many of the major cast members were still alive at the book's writing and were able to contribute. Great book! Jude, I am sure you will enjoy DY's memoir, too.

I must say--his memoir is very interesting--what a crazy stream of consciousness style of writing  I have skimmed it some. I will have to finish it by next week, as my library has to ship it back to Chicago!!

As for BW Forever--I love the book, but Herbie and I are no longer on speaking terms.....long story and I don't want to get into the details here.

Glad you are enjoying the book, Marv. Dick York was one of a kind - they don't make them like that anymore. :(

if you have a debit card with a credit card logo (which you should be able to get at your bank)--you can use that. Also prepaid debit cards with master or visa on them work like cc's online.

I did read Dick York's bio and have to share one of my favorite parts:

Here is Dick describing the first time he saw Liz Montgomery in person:

"She unfolded those goregous legs and looked at me, and I saw her in person for the first time. She had full lips and dark soft hair. She was sex all over"

Damn thats hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :happyface  :happyface

I'm very sure that's all a rumor. Liz's husband also happened to be the show's producer/director, and Dick was happily married to his real-life wife. Having said that, I don't doubt he had a crush on Liz (per his autobiography).

I havent heard this rumor, but I doubt its true. One thing is true I dont see how any straight man cant be attracted to Liz.

Sorry, I've been searching but I can't find the source of the rumor. I remember having been surprised when I read it, but extramarital flings were not exactly rare in Hollywood. I guess we'll have to label it "false" unless I can turn up something that would give us pause.

You may be thinking of Richard "Dick" Michaels, also a director on the show, who had an affair with Liz as her marriage to William Asher was faltering.

Yes, she was involved with him until she met Bob Foxworth.

i read on the IMDb message board that Pilato couldn't get a publisher for the
EM bio. That seems strange. I hope it isn't true. Also, I read on there that Liz
wrote her autobiography and her children won't allow it to be published.

But then again one has to take anything written on message boards with a
grain of salt.

Jude The Obscure

Yes, IMDB is not exactly the most credible of sources and some people who post there seem quite immature.

why can't you get a prepaid debit which you buy and load with money at stores like Rite Aid, Walgreens, etc?
