Please everyone I need your sincerest prayers. as some may already know my husband suffers from cancer and has been out of work. anyway we've applied to refinance our house and although we have tons of equity in it and our credit score is 639 (average) because of the housing market bottoming the rules have changed and we may be denied. the agent we talked to is going to talk to the underwriter tomorrow to try to get us the loan but the odds are against us. please, please, please send us your prayers. we truly need them.

OMG!!!!! Your prayers have helped us again WE GOT THE LOAN!!!! I'M SO HAPPY!!

I can't tell you the relief that came to my husbands eyes!! he has been suffering insomnia lately and is always very touchy because of the stress.we were turned down by 2 loan companies and this last one was our last chance. your prayers have truly been a blessing. we have really been in dire straits. it really hasn't been a life for us this past year, more like just existing. our 3 dogs have gone without their all important heart worm tests and subsequent treatment. we owe taxes on the cars and car insurance. we often have to choose between groceries and gasoline. i haven't had new eyeglasses in 2 years and have no health insurance cause i couldn't afford to take it from my check! we have truly been suffering financially. we are going to pay off our credit cards and CUT THEM UP!!!!! CREDIT CARDS ARE EVIL!!!

thanks you guys i almost forgot the other good news!!. as my husband is currently on unemployment and has been actively seeking work throughout without any luck, we found out president bush has extended unemployment benefits from 6 months to 13 months. although i don't expect we'll need it that much longer, God willing, it is a nice safety net. i no longer have to worry about the upcoming winter and choosing between groceries and heat for our home. God has truly blessed us. i felt so overwhelmed and worried about the coming winter - heating the home, the holidays. we will now be able to survive during these hard economic times without too much worry. i no longer have to take a 2nd job and can return to school. thank you all again for everything, things are definately looking up.!!! God bless you all. and in the words from my favorite christmas movie "God bless us everyone!"

we definately learned our lesson. we are canceling them all except one major cc for emergency use (like a car breaking down or pet emergency)and it will also have a cap on how much we can spend. and we kept our qvc q card which has a very small limit of less than $500 because i plan to do my xmas shopping at home than fight the crowds and gas prices, plus i get special heart healthy steak from them. we cut up our valero card, mobil card, zales card, jc penney card, macys card.basically our new philosophy is if we don't have the cold hard cash then we don't get it. that simple.

Dear Punky, glad to hear the good news and that things are turning around. Yes, CREDIT CARDS ARE EVIL! I would NEVER EVER EVER borrow off a credit card - I only use mine (an American Express) so I don't have to carry a lot of cash with me and so I have some leverage in case I run into a bad merchant. I know when my cycle date closes and pay my balance in full 1-2 days later. It is much better to try to get some kind of secured loan, but I know that's not always possible. (If forced to use a credit card for $, I'd use it AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, most banks are just glorified loan sharks these days.)
