Well first, what types of files are you looking for? Movies and TV shows are typically easier & faster to get via BitTorrent, but that aside, the absolute best program out there for traditional P2P is Shareaza (http://shareaza.sourceforge.net/). Unlike other P2P apps, Shareaza supports multiple networks, including the Gnutella 1 (G1) & Gnutella 2 (G2) networks, as well as the eDonkey 2000 network. (It actually also supports the BitTorrent protocol, but as they note themselves that is not the biggest priority of Shareaza development & as such I prefer a third-party BT client such as uTorrent or BitComet). Shareaza is quite light-weight and will run on computers old and new, from Windows 95 onward. It has no spyware and no adware and is open-source. There is an active community on their forums and there is even an active blocklist (http://www.shareazasecurity.be/) for protection from fake and/or spam servers (especially for the eD2K network).

One note of caution, get it from the link above (shareaza.sourceforge.net) - the domain name @ shareaza.com has been hijacked by a company that claims to make their own 'shareaza' - their 'product' is questionable to say the least and is known to have spyware and adware. Just make sure you are getting it from the official shareaza development page @ sourceforge ;). With that said, I highly recommend it - you will not be disappointed!

Besides Napster and Kazaa and Kazaa Lite I cant think of anything

Napster is no longer a free p2p program - in fact the Napster of today has no relation to the people who even worked on the program back during the dot-com days of yore - the only connection is the name. It is now a for-pay service - which is fine if that's what your after, but my sense is LuLu is not, lol. As for Kazaa, stay away from it as well as any and all variants of it. It is spyware ridden (even the 'lite' versions that exist tend to have spyware more often than not). Further, the FastTrack network that Kazaa was based on is on its way out. The userbase has collapsed and whats left tend to be fake files from spam servers.

It's suppose to be a site where you download free music, atleast thats what a friend of mine tells me. But everytime I go there they want my CC info so they can charge me a monthly fee. I'm not buying it!
