This week it only airs between 8am-9am (CST). Now last week was understandable given the hype with the BET awards. What's the excuse this week?

I didn't know that and didn;t think I had enough tape left to record all 4 eps today so I put in another tape and now realizing I could have left it inside the DVD recorder-lol

Even though I don't think there has been official notification I believe the 3PM airings are done.

I think you should change your username to Forgetful Jones, Solomon, because yet once again you knew this but forgot. I gave the heads up about the 3-4pm being preempted for the week of June 30 ONLY already:

I would have remembered this evening when I saw something else instead of DS-lol

And I see it didn't air at all this morning. Some Mary J. Blige documentary aired in its place though the channel display still read Diff'rent Strokes. BET needs to get it together...

pavanbadal stated last week that DS would be pre-empted on Monday and Tuesday at 9am and will return on Wednesday at 9am.

Jude I wasn't saying you should have known, I was just being giving everyone the reason why it wasn't shown today. Just a FYI

It was posted on two threads here on the DS board, including this:

You have to remember, BET is not a TV show network really. They just air shows like DS to fill the schedule.

I guess I need to pay more attention! So it'll be back Wednesday, hopefully?
Is it true that they're going to pull the show on BET after they air all the seasons's episodes?

Just my humble opinion, but BET is a mess just like everyother Viacom owned network.....they all do share the same last minute program scheduling by a bunch of suits that all think they are reinventing the wheel while they have destroyed each network one by one.....MTV & VH1 (hardly any music videos) TV Land (hardly any classic TV) and BET running sitcoms as filler?

I have an idea..... Why not run Diff'rent Strokes on TV Land or bring Good Times over to BET? How about Total Request Live on VH1? Better yet THE BET awards should be on TV Land and the TV Land awards should be on BET......now that is creative!

They have screwed up the scheduling for A Different World. They aired it last week on Thursday and Friday, but at 3.am. in the friggin morning! So I never got to see all the episodes they aired, which is hardly any since they didn't show ALL THE EPISODES to begin with and when they did, it wasn't aired MONDAY THRU FRIDAY AT MIDNIGHT AS PROMISED ON THEIR PROMOS. I don't understand how they could air promos for a show that wasn't even being aired at the promised time.

I remember when BET was almost 24/7 "Video Soul" with Donnie Simpson
 I did watch that a lot in the late '80s

Ohhhh I loved to watch Donnie Simpson. That was some great television.

Did you know that on BET Jazz, they aired that show? The last time I seen it aired was abt three months ago. It would air around 1 p.m. pacific time. I don't know if they still air it. Man, it was so cool seeing Donnie talk as if it was "right now" and then he would air the videos. One episode, he was talking abt the up and coming BEL, BIV DEVOE. Oh those were the days.

Just thoughts of that remind me of a group called "Loose Ends" who had a hit called "Mr. Bachelor"! BET played the video a lot in those days.

As I enjoyed the repeats on BETJazz, I seen one where they aired two videos from Miss Jasmine Guy aka Whitley from A Different World. ;) I bought her cassette. YIKES!!! Did I say cassette? :faint:  She had two hits, one called TRY ME and the other I believe was called ANOTHER LOVER.

I've always felt TV Land could have a much better lineup. I mean they keep airing back to back episodes of Gunsmoke and Bonanza. They need to reach deep down into the archives and bring back shows such as Patty Duke, Gidget, Baby I'm Back (the sitcom with a young Kim Fields and Denise Nichols), Silver Spoons...man I could go on and on

Baby I'm Back doesn't belong on TV Land since it onl;y had 13 eps

That never used to stop them, they had only about 10 episodes of What's Happening Now and ran them daily for nearly 2 months....and how about that Sony Library deal when they ran the same 15 episodes or so of Hazel, Dennis, Father Knows Best, etc.........lol......a weekly slot for a show with 13 episodes would be fine for two runs at 26 weeks.

Pavan

They were very lazy with What's Happening Now!! They were too cheap to convert the tapes to digital. Which is weird since the show was already 22 minutes to begin with.

The Sony deal was a strange thing. They only had a certain amount of episodes total to air for all series combined, so they chose a few episodes only. Again they didn't want to convert them to digital and not waste money. I think Archie Bunker's Place was the most amount of episodes they aired.

I thought that was a rather good show. Wonder why it was canceled.

Oh and lest we not forget Gimme a Break and Small Wonder (remember Vicki the robot)? TV Land needs to get it together!
