Would love some help with trying to find which episode Blanche speaks about going to her prom with a yankee. Rose and Dorothy were thinking she was talking about an African-American guy but Blanche surprised them! Which season and which episode is this discussed? Thanks in advance!:wave:

The episode that you are thinking of is from the first season. The main part of this episode is Rose's dating relationship with a midget. She and both of her roommates had a long heart to heart about how size dose not matter in relationships nor dose race, religion or any other external characteristics. It is how you feel and what is in the heart that counts. All of the roommates agreed that someone who thinks differently is shallow and superficial. Blanch offered a real-life experience to support this point. She told Dorothy and Rose all about her high school romance with a boy named Benjiman. She explained all about how as much as she adored him, at that time in the South, there were some people who did "not" mix! She then went on and explained how because of how much she liked him, she ignored tradition and went to the prom with him anyway. Dorothy said that she thought it would have been ashamed if she had abstained from dating him just because he was black. At this point Blanch responded with "black! Benjiman was not black! He was from New Jersey! I went to my senior prom with a Yankee"! This is where the tie in comes in. And just for the record, the midget ended up stopping the relationship with Rose because she was not Jewish!

Oh my gosh that is one of my most favorite episodes!!
