Hi everybody-

I'm new here and have enjoyed learning so much great unknown ILL info (at least to me). Forgive me if this subject has been discussed already-I checked a few pages and didnt see it.
In 1939 big bandleader Kay Kyser and his 'Kollege of Musical Knowledge radio gang did their first film for RKO (there were 7 Kyser films in all), called THAT'S RIGHT, YOU'RE WRONG in which Kay and the band go to Hwood to make a movie as a result of their radio popularity. Lucy plays SANDRA SAND, a funny and egocentric contract player at 'Four Star' studios. Lucy is in several scenes, but the one where Kyser gets a screen test opposite Lucy is a scream! I'm a Kyser 'kollector' and have many original memorabilia items from this film- posters, stills, director David Butler's personal script, even some silent color home movie footage w/ Kyser and Lucy w/ Hedda Hopper and Feg Murray (old Hwood cartoonist) that i got from an old KK bandmember. Anybody familiar w/ this film?

I have read abt that movie. Don't know much abt it unless I research it. Sounds like you have quite a collection there and what an awesome collection.

WELCOME TO THE BOARDS and I hope you have fun here. ;)

I didn't know about this film, but it sounds interesting. How did you get a hold of it? I enjoy films from 1930's-50's.

Welcome to the ILL board!

Thanks for the welcome, Mdm. X. I have been collecting Kyser since '89, and since he was HUGE during the WW2 era in radio, records and film, there's a lot of different memorabilia items on the man. Unfortunately, he's almost forgotten. Turner put out the vhs of THAT'S RIGHT, YOU'RE WRONG in the early 80s, about the same time as the laser disc of the film. None of the Kyser feature films have been put out on DVD to date. It is rather hard to find a copy unless you know where to look. It occasionally shows up on TCM.

I saw it on Turner probably 6 months to a year ago. It usually pops up when Lucille is the star of the month of TCM.

If Madame or anyone else would like a vhs dub of the film, I can provide that for $20 (includes first class shipping). It's just finding the time to do it!
