A few weeks ago, I was browsing your message board and came across a thread that discussed the dating relationship between Maureen and Barry, how it continued on the set, etc. Someone spoke of a scene in which Barry shows Marcia a goat in his room (I don't recall which episode--sorry) and looks closely at the expressions, smiles of the two--even noting a "lip smack" on Marcia's part. The point of the poster there was that there was evidence of the actors' dating relationship even during shooting. What I was wondering was whether these "cutsey" Greg and Marcia moments were left in to suggest an attraction of some kind between the characters as well as the actors. Why would the producers leave them in otherwise, even if they originally stemmed from Maureen and Barry's connection off-set? They're shooting in front of directors, producers, etc. and have to go through editing. I was wondering what you thought of this. By the way, I applaud the Brady fan's honest approach to the show, the books written, etc.!!

The lip smack was pretty subtle, and could have easily been missed.

A lot of mistakes slipped through and can be seen today on the DVDs. Probably the most famous would be the "name" errors in What goes up in which Greg twice calls Jan "Eve" and the face Cindy makes in Cindy Brady, Lady.

Even the opening squares weren't immune. Famous Brady lore includes the hiccup from Robert Reed just before his view changes from Greg to Peter in the 4th season and the hand in Cindy's face during the squares from seasons 2 and 3.

It certainly isn't inconceivable that something as subtle as the lip smack could have escaped the editors' notice.
