BET has picked-up cable rights to air The Steve Harvey Show. They will share it with another cable channel, TBS, which airs the series 6-7am. ION Television also airs the series, but they are not a cable channel, they are a broadcast channel.

BET will launch the show on 4th of July weekend from 4-5pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Then starting July 7 it will join the BET weekday line-up. More info will come Monday on the blog (along with full BET July details), so come on back.

Don't get me wrong,i love SHS,but good god what is the deal w/ these cable lately,first That 70's show (FX,The-N,ABC Family,Syn.),earlier today even more Fresh Prince (Nick @ Nite,The-N,TBS,ABC Family on the weekend,Syn. in some markets),now this.

I'm sort of new to this show, and it bothers me that they're going to air it from 6 to 7, the same as ION. Now, ION makes a total mess of it. I think they cut a lot of it out. They air a lot of those real long commercials. They break away from the show abuptly. It's just a choppy sloppy mess. Also, we waited for Steve and Regina to finally get together. They did. Cedric and Lovita announce she's pregnant. Next thing, they start off with the first season. Does BET do a better job at airing shows? Will they be airing them in order, including the last season?

Thanks Janice. One thing BET is good at is showing all the episodes in order. The first six are airing this weekend (July 4-6) from 4-5pm before settling into weekdays 4-5pm and weekends 12-1pm starting the 7th.

As for ION, their editing skills are lacking most definitely. Take a look at the ALICE forum and read how unhappy we were at what they did to that show. :mad: ION STINKS!

I'd say getting mad that it's getting on a schedule isn't exactly showing the love. :crazy: That's what the General board is for.

Haters is plural. The only hater I see on here is Sol. :lol: I am merely aghast at how a show can be shown on three different networks when there are so many other shows that can be aired instead of SHS. Well, ION doesn't count as a network since they are terrible at how they edit their shows. :crazy:

I wouldn't mind if BET aired it between 8pm and 10pm. All that 4-5pm sh*t is what annoys me. I wish BET can just get rid of that HIP-HOP sh*T and air sitcoms in the evenings

People do post like that on other forums. They gripe abt a show being added to a network/channel. I can't speak for others, but I don't go beserk over someone complaining abt a show being added to a channel. I would never "mob" you or call you a hater for coming onto any board and venting your feelings abt a schedule. I have never done that to you. I can't ever recall doing that to anyone. I can't understand how Sol and I are HATERS when we merely commented on the fact that this show is already being aired on two other channels.

No steve harvey is coming on too early in the evening so BET can air that hip hop garbage in the primtime.

You're not a fan, and disregard the PM I sent you, thinking we could have a little fun with the show. The truth is that it IS against the rules to come to a forum for the sole purpose of bashing it. Can you direct me to a post on this forum where you said anything complimentary about the show? The only time I see you post here is to pitch a fit that the show is being scheduled.

I thought this was going to be like Coach, where I never, to this day even, got to see the final season, maybe even two seasons, when they moved to California and went Pro.

Pavan, I have a question for you that's been bugging me. When a station, such as ION, buys the rights to a tv show, and I hope I'm wording that correctly, why would they not buy the last season? Certainly a station wants happy viewers. If it wasn't for BET, and thankfully you, I'd be missing out on Steve Harvey's final season. Is it something else perhaps, that's out of the station's control? If BET could acquire the final season, why couldn't ION do the same thing?

As I said in my last post, I went through this with Coach, when I was constantly deprived of the final season, when they moved to California and went Pro. I've never seen it to this day. Being the scheduling guru that you are, I'm hoping that I can get an answer that makes sense to me, because what these stations do is cruel to viewers. It's like watching a movie, and never getting to see the ending. Thanks, and sorry for the long post. :)

I think ION has rights to all seasons, they just are not airing season six as of now. It could be due to a variety of reasons (their call in not editing them for broadcast due to the season not being good, bad tapes, number of airplays allowed per contract, etc). For example, when Nick at Nite had Charles in Charge they only felt the need to convert the tapes for seasons 2-4 and they never aired seasons 1 and 5...totally their call, but they did have rights to air all five years. In another instance, TV Land had this huge Sony deal some years back with shows like Dennis the Menace and Archie Bunker's Place. TV Land only aired the first season or two of those and maybe a select episodes after that (for ABP I know they aired some post season one episodes). TV Land had a library deal with Sony and were only allowed to air and convert a certain number of episodes for the entire deal, causing them to keep repeating the same episodes.

As for Coach, WGN now has the rights to it (see Coach board), so you can catch the final season I'm sure there, as they are a station that never skips stuff.

I wonder why the final season was so short. Friday's preempted shows, we won't miss any shows, according to your list, so that's good, and I hope I'm reading that right. Princeton for Lydia LIZA Guttman, and a Jr. College for Stanley/Bullethead.

Regina accepts a position at prestigious school private in California. Steve follows his love there. I was hoping for an engagement ring, but oh well. It was bittersweet, knowing what's in store just months away for poor Merlin Santana. His two daughters will have this show to forever see their father in his prime and glory. So sad. Great series, from start to finish. I'm going to miss it.

That was a fun scene. I loved how Steve and Regina were dancing in the background. I think the actress who played Lydia was a good comedian. I'm surprised I haven't see her in much.
