I found out this morning after visiting with my sister that she will be going home today. :clap: After spending these past couple of weeks in ICU and eventually moving back to a private room three days ago, the doctor feels my sister, Hope, can be taken care of at home. I want to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I truly believe in the power of prayer. God may not always answer our prayers the way we want or expect, but in this case, He has. I am forever grateful for the prayer thread made and all who took the time to post on it. Even if you didn't post but had me and my family in your thoughts, I want to say thank you as well. You all are always in my prayers and never far from my mind. I know there are those of you in a bad or dire situation or have a sick family member or a family member in recovery. I pray to God He comforts you and gives you all strength. :)

My sister is still not out of the woods yet, but her condition regarding her blood platelet count has improved and can be monitored at home with a kit and in-home nursing care. She will have a nurse visit her daily and help her with that part of her treatment. My sister will be on a strict diet, she cannot drive or go anywhere. She must remain at home. No housework, no gardening, nothing. She cannot go back to work for a long while. The reason being the doctor doesn't want her to get injured in any way, not even a bruise. A simple bruise can cause severe internal bleeding. So pretty much the way my sister was in the hospital, is how she must be at home. The ony difference is SHE WILL BE HOME with her family in the comforts of her own surroundings.

Irene, Im so happy your sister is doing better and able to come home. Sometimes just being able to come home works wonders for someone that is ill. I hope she continues to improve and is able to get back on her feet soon. God Bless your family!

I'm so glad to hear your sister is able to go home! Being in a hospital with nurses constantly in and out can make it almost impossible to get any rest. I'm sure being back at home will help her continue to get better!

Oh, that's great! Sucks that she can't really do anything, though, but at least she'll be at home with her loved ones.
