View Full Version : The Beverly Hillbillies New DVD Release Coming!! comedyfreak 06-24-2008, 04:26 AM http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Beverly-Hillbillies-Season-2/9906 Good news for us fans! Scoobiedoo30 06-24-2008, 12:13 PM will it be The Complete Series of The Beverly Hillbillies AB 06-24-2008, 03:14 PM That's good news. Scoobiedoo30 06-24-2008, 03:23 PM it aesome News clj2 06-24-2008, 05:11 PM With 'Hillbillies' being such a long series, I'm glad Paramount is releasing it....they're very good most of the time at releasing entire series. comedyfreak 06-25-2008, 04:14 AM will it be The Complete Series of The Beverly Hillbillies From what I understand, it's the complete 2nd season being released and not just the remaining 17 missing episodes. treky 06-26-2008, 01:49 AM keep your fingers crossed that they also release the remaining seasons after this; and that they don't pull the kind of thing they did with season 2 of "THE FUGITIVE". Jude The Obscure 06-26-2008, 07:54 PM I hope that this is also a sign that they will do the same for Petticoat Junction!! comedyfreak 06-27-2008, 03:44 AM I hope so too, they're also my favorite. treky 06-29-2008, 01:39 AM latest news at their site is that all the episodes WILL have the opening & closing theme, CBS/Paramount is working from 35mm prints (the MCI releases were 16mm) and they hope to include extras. They also have a picture on their site (tvshowsondvd; not CBS/Paramount) of the box art; BUT they say all this may change in the future. gotsmart 06-29-2008, 01:59 PM http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Beverly-Hillbillies-Season-2/9948 http://www.tvshowsondvd.net/graphics/news3/BeverlyHillbillies_S2_early.jpg Wow, I hope they change the cover art. The frame does not look good and the picture looks like it is from a much later season. Is that the ocean in the background? Since CBS/Paramount will be working with 35mm prints (MPI used 16mm prints) it should result in better picture quality! Nice to know that they are looking to add extras. Maybe they can get Paul Browstein on board to produce them? comedyfreak 06-29-2008, 06:24 PM I'll definately be picking this one up, hopefully they'll do the third season which will be in glorious color. treky 06-30-2008, 02:32 AM they started filming in color in the 4th season, not the 3rd. treky 06-30-2008, 02:34 AM http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Beverly-Hillbillies-Season-2/9948 http://www.tvshowsondvd.net/graphics/news3/BeverlyHillbillies_S2_early.jpg Wow, I hope they change the cover art. Maybe they can get Paul Browstein on board to produce them?just keep your fingers crossed that none of this news changes, like they said it may. clj2 06-30-2008, 08:33 AM Good news about the prints....but that box art is tacky!! MPI even did better with theirs. Let's hope they get something that's cleaner and more professional looking. comedyfreak 06-30-2008, 12:16 PM As long as it hits DVD I'm fine. @ Treky- It'll be interesting to see the 3rd season still in b&w. ethelmaepotter 07-01-2008, 03:33 PM Well, I would have preferred they start with Season 1. It doesn't make sense. richieonline 07-06-2008, 03:00 PM There is a god!!!!!! :) TV DVD Fan 07-07-2008, 04:51 PM Well, I would have preferred they start with Season 1. It doesn't make sense. MPI has already released all of the season one episodes (granted they're spread over 2 volumes, but at least they're out there!). ethelmaepotter 07-07-2008, 09:22 PM MPI has already released all of the season one episodes (granted they're spread over 2 volumes, but at least they're out there!). Yeah, but the MPI releases were disappointing. Some episodes were not good quality. I could have given up all the cigarette commercials just to have all the episodes in good quality. comedyfreak 07-09-2008, 09:17 AM I didn't think there was anything wrong with the quality. treky 07-10-2008, 02:07 AM no, me too. In fact, I thought the audio and video are exellent. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed hoping that CBS/Paramount keeps up the same great work that MPI did, and that they don't do what they did with season 2 of "THE FUGITIVE" and "GOMER PYLE: U.S.M.C.". |
