8 Simple Rules - It really was duped! One more season and it would've been in local syndication. It was still TGIF's #1 series!

Back to You - Such a great comedy. If it had been given the proper treatment and the writer's strike hadn't come into play, this show would be returning next week with the rest of the fall line-up. I'm just glad we get a dvd release (October 14th).

Everwood - Had another good 2-3 seasons left. Stupid move on the CW. (Seasons 2-4 on DVD are now in the making!)

George Lopez - Another season or two could've been quite good. I really didnt like Veronica though in season six.

Joey - It wasn't as good as Friends, but NBC could've finished showing season 2 and given the show a 13 episode season 3 to tie up loose ends. (All seasons available [Season 1 everywhere; Season 2 Canada Only])

Reba - Still had a lot of life! Another stupid move on the CW. It was their #1 sitcom when it returned for its final season. (Four Seasons were put on dvd. The fifth and sixth wont see the light of day for whatever reason.)

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip - This has to top my list. Such fantastic acting, writing and direction. This show could've been a decade runner! (Complete Series on DVD)

What I Like About You - It def. could've had one more season, no more though. (Season 1 dvd is out; nothing more than that:P)

Besides that, I think 8 Simple Rules got shafted. It was only 1 season away from going into syndication, plus ABC buried it on Friday nights. And I always thought FOX shafted Grounded for Life. It was a good show, but you know FOX - they never want to give their sitcoms a chance.

in the house- if debbie allen was still on that show as a cast member, then it wouldn't have gone downhill

nurses and the commish. although on nurses, the addition of the character jack trenton played by david rasche enhanced the cast by the third season his character took over the show and it became overkill. his antics that first served as subplots became the shows entire plot and the rest of the cast became glorified extras whose only purpose was to advance his storylines. and the addition of loni anderson was the last nail in the coffin. however if the series had stayed the way it was in season 1 & 2 it would have been worthy of a longer run. it unnecessarily depended too much upon its sister shows whether than standing on its own like it should have.

i wish they were more hooney mooners. i heard jackie gleson want to do another season but he feel like their wasn' enough story to tell I also heard that they were going to make another seaosn of family ties. I also heard they wanted to do another season of the wonder years. think Quatam leap should have lasted longer. i heard they were going to make a tv movie about his daugther leaping in time trying to find him. that was like three or four years ago when i hadn't heard anything about it . i think early edition should have lasted longer. they never did give it season fineal. Another good sow is the invisable man and batman beyond. i don't think they gave batman beyond a seaosn fineal. i also would like static shock lasted longer.

Sledge Hammer! - ABC planned the early funeral of this show by making the fatal mistake of placing it against two of the most well-established TV shows of the time in "Dallas" and especially against "The Cosby Show."

Just the Ten of Us - ABC prematurely cancelled it after S3 b/c the PtB in charge at the time wanted TGiF to be Miller-Boyett Mania! and JtToU was gone b/c of that. The irony was that the PtB in charge sent a letter of apology to the cast and producers to say "sorry" by prematurely cancelling the show too soon.

ALF - if they didn't make the final two seasons lacklustered, then this show would of had at least 5 or 6 seasons.

Star Trek - If NBC actually let them complete their 5-year mission, then who knows what would of happened.

The Addams Family/The Munsters

Associates, The - This show had the look of an emmy-winning show w/ somewhat clever writing. Had the producers not listened to the new regime that took over ABC in early 1980, then this show could of been a full-fledged emmy-winning show.

If NBC had put it in a better timeslot and if the show hadn't did the stupid voodoo storyline in the second half of the second season, it could have easily lasted a good six or seven seasons longer than it did. It could have been on the air through 1988 or 1989.

I LOVED Joan of Arcadia but they ruined it during it's second year. I hate that they had Adam tell Joan that he slept with another girl. That show was supposed to be... well, not "wholesome" but I loved it because it didn't focus on sex so much. That pretty much killed it for me. And I was REALLLLYYY hoping that they would keep it on the air, but I had a gut feeling that it was soon to be canceled. What a shame.

Another is "Square Pegs". I just watched the entire series on DVD (thank you, Netflix!) and I was wishing that they had been able to run the show for all four years of their high school lives. That was a great show. Too bad CBS RUINED it by putting it up against the second half of the A-Team. :mad: :soapbox:

As for Happy Days nine years was sufficient enough for a show that should've ended in 1979.

Green Hornet, The - It might not had the ratings juggernaut that the 1966 TV version of Batman had, but I always liked Bruce Lee. And also, the show wasn't campy like the '60s Batman and I also heard that the executive producer (William Dozier) once wanted to give equal screen time for Bruce Lee as they do for Van Williams, but ABC wouldn't buy into that idea and eventually GH was gone after one full season.

and speaking of the 1960s...Batman

Batman (early 1966-68) - It was one of the few shows along w/ Bewitched that made dents in the Top 20 for ABC and it was canned after S3. Had they not overexposed the show in S3, then the '60s version of Batman would've lasted for another 2 seasons.

reba- was still quite a ratings hit when it was cancelled.
Jesse- could have gone on alot longer, was still in the top when it was cancelled.
Veronica's closet- had so much to offer but it moved nights which caused it's ratings to sink.

Less Than Perfect-I really liked this show it had great chemistry between the cast.

My So-Called Life should have gotten at least a second season because that show was too good to only get 1 season.

Hope & Faith deserved at least one more season to tie up it's loose ends.

MOESHA should have gotten at the very least 13 more episodes to tie up it's loose ends.

8 Simple rules was cancelled prematurely.

Life With Bonnie and Less Than Perfect did not deserve to be cancelled, not at all.

I loved the show Nurses on NBC and felt it deserved a few more seasons.

Maybe It's Me on The WB deserved another season because it was a great show, as was, Popular which deserved a third season for sure.

The Greatest American Hero. Brandon Tartikoff wanted to continue the series on NBC, but William Katt was sick of the suit by then. So, they developed a spinoff pilot for The Greatest American Heroine, which went nowhere.

The soap opera Port charles should not have been cancelled in 2003.

Definitely agree with Women's Murder Club. I can't believe ABC cancelled it - it was consistently pulling in 9 million viewers last season, on a Friday night. Now look what they're getting - they're lucky to hit 5 million. They made a huge mistake there.

Fantastic show. Only 5 episodes aired after Dancing with the Stars in mid season before getting the axe, which was odd cause it did well in the ratings. All 13 are on YouTube. I highly recommend it.

I've never seen Crumbs before. Will it ruin Fred Savage, Wonder Years-wise for me though?

LoL so true. that is if NBC even aired sitcoms anymore. Any of those shows getting anything close to the ratings that those cancelled shows had would be a vast improvement over what NBC has nowadays.

The funny thing is i haven't really watched FOX since the 1990's... other than "Bones" and the occasional "American Idol" or "Kitchen Nightmares". But in the 90's FOX was my station with Melrose Place, 90210, Party Of Five, Ally McBeal, Boston Public, Time Of Your Life, MAD TV (when it was good w/Nicole Sullivan and Debra Wilson), Models Inc, Pacific Pallisades. Basically i have stopped watching FOX because they ditched the type of shows i watch.

NBC i don't watch much now either, other than "ER" or "Chuck". in the 90's i loved NBC with Suddenly Susan, Friends, Will & Grace, Caroline In The City, Veronica's Closet, Jenny, Fired Up, Conrad Bloom, The Single Guy, Union Square, and so on and so forth...

Now i watch mostly ABC, CBS and Bravo.

The Eve Arden Show- I recently got to see a dvd of this charming little show and enjoyed it very much. Eve Arden was an underrated actress. I don't know why the show was cancelled after one season.

The Mothers-In-Law- I remember watching when this comedy was originally on the air and it was my favorite show, it only lasted two seasons.
