My little brother does not like turning on the air conditioning no matter how HOT it is and I just can't understand why someone wouldn't want to feel the nice COLD air of the AC

So if you are that kind of person aso let me know why

i don't like the AC because i'm a cold natured person. i'm cold all the time. but (naturally) everybody in my family loves the cold and everywhere i go, i freeze.
i mean you can only put on so many clothes until it looks like your fat. and i hate to wrape in blanets because you can't do anythig with our hands. know what i mean?

Not even at night when you go to sleep on a warm muggy night? That's the best time to be wrapped up in a blanket

other than that. i'm talking about sitting on the couch, watching TV or waterever. you can't aim the remote under the blanet because the blanket blocks your aim. you have to take your hand out from under the blanket just to aim the remote and it could feel like Alaska (to me anyways) yea. i'm lazy. lol.

Air Conditioning is a MUST in Houston!!!!!! You seriously would not survive without it!!!!!!!
The humidity here is insane, and it's just the best feeling to come inside to cool breezy air after being outside in the hot humid weather for so long!!! (If you can stand it.) I personally cannot lol!!

Some people think it (the air) feels sort of fake or stale. I can't stand being hot, so I  A/C. Major kudos to its inventor!!!

Not of fan of walking into a business where they have the A/C set to like 50 degrees though. I don't like shopping and freezing to death.

This is my first summer with air conditioning and I must say that it is kind of getting on my nerves. It's really hot outside and I know that it would be scorching if they AC wasn't on, but sometimes it gets to be a little too much for my taste.

i cannot imagine my summers without air conditining. i'd probably die. i like to have like three big blankets on me even in the summer so AC is a must at night especially. that and a huge fan blowing right at me

Same goes for Fla. I cannot imagine the summers here without A/C. In fact, it's sort of a joke that's the way of life in Fla. "Go from your air-conditioned house, to your air-conditioned car, to the air-conditioned store, back to your car, go into another air-conditioned building, back to your car, and back home."

I remember a couple years ago, a hurricane hit us and I didn't have electricity for a few days. That was brutal even trying to sleep at night!!

Some people just can't take A/C, for allergy reasons or whatever, and some people just don't like really cold air blowing on them.

  Same thing here!!!! God forbid you get stuck outside too long!!! ;) I hate parking so far away from a store because of the walk..lol!!! It really is brutal in the afternoons though...

I don't like being too cold. I hate the big bills. and i don't care to be stuck into a room with an ac unit and not be able to move around my apt at will - or if i do, i feel sick from too cold/too hot & humid.

Well during the day I make sure the room is comfortable, like now I have the AC on low, the ceiling fan on and the other fan on low

When driving, I usually set the AC on it's coldest setting on full blast - within about 30 minutes I can usually see my breath! And you know what? I love it that way.

Conversely, my mother won't turn the heat on when it's 90 degrees out with 100% humidity - and it drives me bonkers. And when she DOES turn the AC on? It's on *80*.

I definitely need it, but I don't really want it as cold as everyone else in my house does. I'm a cold natured person like someone else mentioned. I don't want it to be all hot in my house, but I don't want to freeze either.

Phoenix is the same way. I have no idea how people live there. Dry heat is better my ass. 100+ is hot no matter how humid.

OH Nuts!

I got an AC 7 yrs ago & I don't know I lived w/o it! I'm older now (52) and LOVE LOVE LOVE my AC. But I use it just to the pt I feel comfortable & at night only use a fan near my bed.

Yeah, I KNOW!! Hot is hot, whether it is a "dry heat" or whatever!! I was near Palm Springs one summer and my thermometer was reading 108. I could barely breathe outside. At least where I live, I can breathe. It's stifling hot, but I can breathe.

I'm not a really big fan of AC, I get cold pretty easy. Infact I just took the AC out of my bedroom window at the house and give it to my girlfriend. Her AC unit went out and her house was burning up, so she needed it more than I. I still have a AC in my livingroom, so my house stays cool anyways.

I'm glad I live up North where at least we get a change of seasons. Since I was born down South, it's a little heretical of me to say how much I hate SUMMER. But I do. Sticky and gooey and lots of bugs and easy to get skin rashes (at least for me)

IMO, the only good thing about summer is that it ends, and then I get to enjoy MY FAVORITE SEASON FALL!

Oh yeah, I totally agree!! Even though it still stays rather hot down here until after Halloween, to me it's still fall. The kids go back to school, baseball is getting into its post-season, and the stores start stocking their Halloween stuff. I about turn back into a kid when I start seeing those things!!

I wish I could put a window unit in my bedroom. There's only ONE vent in this room (it's big enough it should have 2) and it's above the garage, so it's always easily 10 degrees warmer in here. But, we don't have the proper windows for a window unit, and my dad would never allow me to have one anyway (he thinks it would cheapen the look of the house). So I suffer.

I'm not a fan of A/C. When I haven't had roommates or when they were away I've always turned the A/C off. I don't mind stuffiness. I like the heat. I don't like cold. The slightest drop in temperature makes me grumpy.

On occasion, A/C feels good. But I can never linger in an air-conditioned building.

I hate air conditioning for the most part. It always dries out my sinuses and makes me miserable.

I grew up here in Detroit with no air conditioning at all up until about 2002. I know this isn't the hottest climate in the world, but we get our share of heat.

I'm so cold blooded that it takes a lot to make me overheat. More times than not during the summer I've slept in rooms where it never dropped below 90 degrees at night and it never bothered me too much.

Have you tried getting a humidifier for your room? Your the first person I've ever actually heard say that, then again - here the months of May through September are like a sauna as far as humidity so there's plenty to spare. How does the heat in the winter do for your sinuses? I always thought heat was worse than air conditioning for sinuses, but I've never read anything that actually proves that theory oO. </curious>

As for myself, I cannot function without air conditioning. I am hot all the time. It has to be 65 F or cooler inside or I start to sweat and be miserable. So the AC is always running - into January. Of course, I'm also the lone idiot outside in the snow wearing a t-shirt and shorts...

I thought Humidifers were a waste of money. They are useless on a hot and humid date
