anyone remember this show? it premiered in 1993 and one brunette lady and blonde lady (marilyn and caryl i think their names are) were best friends and their respective families lived next door to each other on the show. it lasted 2 seasons, with julia duffy joining in season 2 when the show was revamped and the title was changed from 'Mommies' to 'The Mommies'. I think the blonde and brunette lady also did Palmolive dish washing liquid commercials as well during and after the show was canceled for a time. odd that its not in SO's 90's category.

It may have lasted 2 seasons but it was only on the air for 1 year which is not long enough to be in the 90's category

Most of the boards on here I think have a minumum of about 44 episodes or so except the ones that have separate SO webpages. I remember the show. I only saw a couple episodes but I liked it.

No Carter Country , Its a Great Life, and some others only ran 2 seasons and they have their own board. Their are some though that ran for 2 seasons that don't have one. I don't know if their is a set rule.

Ok well it probably depends on the number of episodes. I was the one who had the CPO Sharkey Board added and the show had a total of 41 eps-lol

Their names are Caryl Kristensen (the blonde) & Marilyn Kentz (the brunette), and yes, those were the two women that did the Palmolive commercials in the mid-late '90s. In addition to the aforementioned sitcom, they also had a short-lived daytime talk show on ABC during the 1996-97 season. And yes, there were two seasons of The Mommies, but season 2 was put on NBC as a midseason replacement from Jan-Apr 1995, whereas season 1 (1993-94) was a full season.

In any case, only season 1 is available for syndication--don't ask me why it is set up like that.

About the only one season show I ever saw in syndication was Gidget. It was syndicated in the 1980s on one of my local channels.

I have no idea - after it was cancelled, I never saw it again. I don't think it was ever syndicated. Whatever happened to Marilyn and Caryl post-Mommies, anyway?

I remember them doing those informercials for those pots that supposedly kept cooking even after you turned off the stove for like just 5 minutes. Apparently those things never caught on! :lol:

About the 1 season, I only know what I read whenever I saw their syndicator's reports on what was available and for The Mommies, it only had season 1, 22 episodes available. Why exclude season 2? Which is the one that had Lane Davies replacing Robin Thomas of season 1--also in season 2 we had Jere Burns joining the cast, as well as Julia Duffy, who played Barbie and yes......Peter Scolari showed up.......as Ken!! :lol:
