According To Men

This new dramedy (drama/comedy) centers around four middle-aged fortysomething longtime friends and successful lawyers working at a prestigous law firm in Los Angeles.

The eldest of the group of friends, Mitch Pierson (Tim Allen) is happily married to his loving and gorgeous wife, Karen Pierson (Kelly Preston), and they are proud parents of their two teenage children, Meghan (Joy Lauren) and Erick (Mitchel Musso). The 18-year-old Meghan is a popular high school senior who showcases her slight rebellious side by smoking cigarettes and dating older boys. The 16-year-old Erick is a high school sophomore who is very tech-savvy and a self-classified "daydreamer". Mitch is recently experiencing signs of going through a mid-life crisis but he refuses to admit it (especially to Karen, which upsets her).

One of the other men, Kevin Davies (Blair Underwood) is a longtime bachelor who once vowed he wouldn't marry, but that all changed once he met his wife, Sarah Davies (Gabrielle Union) who is now pregnant and carrying their first child. Kevin loves Sarah, but can't help but realize that his wife is always trying to "change him" and transform him into someone who "the true Kevin" believe he is not.

Another one of the other men, Nate Van Lanen married his high school sweetheart-turned-wife, Trish Van Lanen (Nicole Sullivan). Nate and Trish got married right out of high school when Trish was six months pregnant with their now-teenage daughter, Alyssa (Brie Larsen). Nate and Trish have a happy marriage, but Nate did something that hurt Trish (and Alyssa too) -- Nate had an affair with Trish's divorced "cougar" Aunt Marley (Kathie Lee Gifford). However, Trish has forgiven Nate and intends on remaining civil with her once-favorite aunt who had seduced her hubby into having an affair. Trish and Nate's daughter, Alyssa is the best friend of Meghan Pierson, and is also a popular high school senior who is the head cheerleader and possesses a strong peppy, perky personality (dislike her bff, Meghan).

And lastly, the final member of the four male friends/colleagues, Dan Michaels (Dan Cortese) is happily married husband to his supportive wife, Lisa Michaels (Barbara Alyn Woods) and devoted father to his 16-year-old daughter, Vanessa (Nathalia Ramos). Dan and Lisa share a five year age difference (she is older than him). Vanessa is strictly-platonic, long-time best friends with Erick Pierson, and is a sweet, sensitive aspiring writer yet is a bit naive and a fellow daydreamer. However, Dan is probably one of the most macho of the group and also adores and loves his wife more than anything in his life, Dan is recently forced to question basically everything that he has come to know as his true self when he agrees to accept a side job (apart from practicing law) as he works as a crisis manager for a big L.A. crises management firm. At his side job (basically to help save up for Vanessa's college fund), Dan is faced to work side by side with fellow crisis manager, Bobby Martelli (Bobby Cannavale)- who is a quite masculine, hunky openly gay man. After learning of Bobby's sexuality, Dan becomes rapidly confused and perplexed when he privately discovers his attraction to Bobby and ends up questions his own sexuality (which could threaten his marriage, and basically his whole life).

Watch how Mitch, Kevin, Nate, and Dan all face their everyday trials and tribulations of their lives, along with their wives and children.
