View Full Version : The clip of "Roseanne" being honored at the TV Land Awards Overdose 06-20-2008, 03:34 AM http://youtube.com/watch?v=ypLmxR3pYv0 Whoooohoooo! coffield3 06-20-2008, 08:22 AM Awww, that made me cry, such a awesome tvshow :) Thank's for the link overdose :D Overdose 06-23-2008, 04:15 PM What does everyone else think? I feel the tribute was very nice, and the clips they showed were great! "Roseanne" really was an innovative show for several reasons: 1. It showed a woman ruling the house, which was never before seen on TV! (ie: feminism) 2. It showed a family that had two overweight parents 3. It was one of the first shows to have re-occurring homosexual characters, who were shown in a positive light 4. It showed the working class family having a liberal perspective 5. It showed children and teenagers dealing with issues most sitcoms never addressed (birth control, sex, masturbation, drugs) However, I felt the acceptance speech could have been better planned out. Everyone seemed a bit awkward. But overall, I'm glad critics realize the impact "Roseanne" had on television! Aside from a few OK last seasons, and a bad final season, "Roseanne" had just as many great seasons as "I Love Lucy" had in total. And I can't help but feel people need to realize this. If "Roseanne" had ended after season 6, would it be better remembered? Yes. And I think that's unfair, because "Roseanne" had just as many great seasons as other shows did, it just ran on too long. And it's not fair that these other shows are ranked higher than "Roseanne" on best TV show lists because they stopped while they were ahead, even though they have the same amount of great seasons in total as "Roseanne" has. (Sorry for the rant!) TracknField_Rebel 07-01-2008, 05:59 AM thank You for posting the clip...really nice to see them almost all together again....To date, this is my favorite sitcoms and it will ever be...I´m watching it everyday on German TV Channel Kabel1....two episodes per day....and it´s running like that over and over again for about 2,5 years....and I never get tired of it.... thanx for posting it again |
