View Full Version : Kimberly's bigoted boyfriend episode
Ireneparalegal 06-19-2008, 11:15 PM Tell me they could have done something else other than Kim looking black to make the point the boyfriend was bigoted.
They had him on a tape recorder saying what he said, why not just confront him with it when he showed up?
The actor who played Kim's boyfriend was also on FOL wasn't he?
edit: Yes he was, he took Jo out to the cotillion. He played Blair's boyfriend.

Is it me or did he look way to old for Kimberly?
70s show watcher 06-20-2008, 12:11 AM and also fans of the office may get a kick out of seeing melrola hardin in that ep

Maybe Kimberly was looking too young. She looked like she could be 13 years old, especially after coming down the stairs with that make-up on.

Did that bother you? His facial expression was priceless which is exactly what they were going for.

It was over the top.
I would have rather seen his facial expression if they played the tape recorder instead.
Jude The Obscure 06-20-2008, 02:54 PM The actor also played a jerk on FOL. I noticed a lot of the same actors guesting on both series at the same time.
Brieannas21 06-20-2008, 02:57 PM I have to say, that was the best "black" makeup I've seen on a white person LOL
Jude The Obscure 06-20-2008, 03:06 PM Remember the DW episode where Suzanne put on theatrical makeup for her duet with Anthony and later to be one of the Supremes?

What was really over the top was that WALK kimberly and the boys were doing once she came downstairs with the black face

I thought that part was cute.
GARFIELDKOOL 06-20-2008, 07:32 PM It was also a LOL moment at Mr. D's reaction when he realized Kimberly was looking different.
guestguest 06-20-2008, 09:19 PM Yeah, I liked the double take Mr. D did. But I thought it was weird how casually he said "Hi" to Kimberly's boyfriend when he came in, even though he heard what he said on the tape.

Thank you, that is what I was thinking as well when I watched it. I would have been one p*ssed off person seeing that bigot in my home.
