the commish, i felt there were a lot of stories left to tell. and the commish was unique in its story telling. it was a cop show that didn't rely on excessive violence but instead on the heart of the characters. and nurses. it had the potential to be a classic. i think its association with golden girls and empty nest killed it. with its witty writing and diversity in characters, the show had the ability to stand on its own but instead it relied on its sister shows, which it didn't need. then they added loni anderson and it went to hell. i'd also like unsolved mysteries to come back. i heard it is but i know it won't be done right. i think bill kurtis should host it as a&e has wasted his talent by putting on inane shows like the two coreys...wtf? there have been a lot of great cases happening recently the show could feature like the boca raton, florida mall murderer; the newlywed husband from ct who went missing off the cruise ship; the missing wife stacey peterson who's husband is a cop and his first wife also died mysteriously in the tub.

I think the ABC Afterschools Specials and CBS Storybreak should make a comeback, because there are new issues that our young people are facing (gangs, online predators, cyber bullying, tolerence towards Middle Easterners in America, etc.) makes for great storytelling IMO.

i'd like to see tv movies aka movies of the week make a comeback. i know most are cheesy tearjerkers but they were a guilty pleasure. maybe the john larroquette show as well. just erase the last 3 seasons and continue on from the first. that was very edgy for its time, nowadays i could see hbo or some other cable channel picking it up. its too bad nbc interfered. the first season was so dark. 3rd shift in a seedy bus station with a recovering alcoholic as a manager and the people among him was as zany as anything on night court: a hooker, 2 crooked/lazy/incompetent cops, a sassy latina, the bum living in the phone booth.

Are we talking shows that should be airing more, shows that shouldn't have been canned, or remaking shows?

CW's "runaway" should come back. The show was not given a fair opportunity IMO.

"Jake In Progress"

I don't know, when GAB first came out on DVD TVOne aired a marathon. So it could happen. I highly doubt it but it's possible.

Mannix - this show was once called the most violent show of its time b/c of the number of gunshots that was fired and the massive body count on each episode.
