Steve Carell has denied rumors he will leave the hit show The Office to concentrate on his burgeoning movie career.

The former postman starred in the first three series of the Emmy Award-winning comedy and has since landed roles in big budget films including 2007's Evan Almighty and this year's Get Smart.

The funnyman had been dogged by rumors he is set to leave the program to take on more high profile lead roles. However he insists that he is definitely going to stick with The Office for the foreseeable future.

He says, "All of the main cast are signed for three more (seasons). Beyond that, I have no idea."

That's good news.

I had no idea there were rumors that Steve was going to leave.

The show would be nothing without him.

What would The Office be without Michael Scott???
I didn't know about the rumors either, but I'm glad their not true!! As for his movie career, I'm happy for him!!! I think he's very talented and hillarious and deserves the recognition! :)

I think Steve has a great movie career ahead of him; I saw Dan In Real Life, and I think he is a brillaint actor. He will transcend what he has done in his precious movie and TV roles.

But for now he shouldn't abandon the show that has made him famous. I hope he stays with The Office for as long as the show is on the air.

its nice one major movie star staying put and not biting the hand that feeds them unlike a certan female lead on a certan show about doctors who bashes her show every chance she gets

I loved "Dan in Real Life" and I also liked his other movies. I'm dying to see "Get Smart", just because it looks hilarious (although I'm sure won't equal the original... who cares?). I think he's handling the movie/TV show balance really well. Plus, those who have seen his movies and not his TV series might be lured over to NBC.

I agree, he seems to be balancing the movie/TV deal pretty well.
I have wanted to see "Dan in Real Life" for a while now, but have never really gotten around to doing so. Actually I haven't rented a movie in a looong time!! LOL!!! But I think he would be funny in that father type of role. :) Heck, he's great in anything!!! :D
