tv star collector 06-16-2008, 03:08 PM Ernest T. Bass (The Andy Griffith Show)
Yooch 06-16-2008, 03:22 PM There are many, but some of the more recent examples to me would be Phoebe and Joey on Friends, and Kramer on Seinfeld
TV Star Collector--Good choice. Ernest T. Bass is an excellent, pure example of this type of character)
Impressions 06-16-2008, 03:33 PM Oh, so this topic isn't about the cliché of adults playing high school students?
Two that stand out to me are Rose Nylund and Chrissy Snow.

Good examples, Impressions. Yeah, I kind of interpreted this thread to include any character who might be either childish, childlike or naive--or all three, or just someone who, although physically an adult, seemed to look at life perhaps through a child's perspective and reasoning.
So, yeah, I think all our examples have been good.

That's exactly what I meant - also characters who tend to throw childish tantrums when things don't go their way.
P.S. I chose Rosco from Dukes, but I forgot to mention Enos Strate!! *slaps forehead* Now THERE'S a childlike, naive character - in a good way!! :D
Adamantium 06-16-2008, 04:21 PM Matthew Brock from "NewsRadio." He acted so much like a child, at one point, he joined the Big Brothers Program, but instead of getting a little kid, he was given an adult and became the "little brother." lol
Herman Munster from "The Munsters."
